He saved my life too! The 3 rheumatologists I had before him misdiagnosed me and treated me for 5 years with high doses of drugs I didnt respond to because I never had rheumatoid arthritis in the first place. He saw the truth in the first 10 minutes I was in his office, that I didnt have and had never had it. He is an instructor at UCSD medical school, and had all three of the previous doctors in class and said they hadnt paid attention in class. The second and should all have their licenses suspended and be required to go to CE. The first one is a charlatan and should have his license permanently revoked.
I adore Dr. Jaffer. He has been my allergist for 25 years and also treated my son. He is very intelligent, caring, and professional. He has a terrific staff. Shayna and Mary are both very knowledgeable. I dont know what Ill do when he retires! It will feel as if I am losing part of my family.

Very knowledgeable doctor and staff. Been going there 20 years+
Dr. Jaffer has helped my husband TREMENDOUSLY with his gout. He's nice and personable and very efficient. Always listened to any symptoms and adjusted meds as needed. He'a an awesome doctor!!!
I have seen Rheumatologist in 2 different states and in the UK. Dr. Kim is by far the best I have ever seen. She has me feeling normal again. I wished I would have started with her years ago.
Dr. Jaffer is a brilliant physician. He has seen just about everything and truly looks at things holistically; which is both rare and difficult. He offers a significant amount of his time to patients and asks lots and lots of questions while providing insights and knowledge around why he is probing or testing different approaches to treating his patients. It is extremely difficult to find someone like him and I’m grateful he is my doctor.
I have become disillusioned with this practice. Dr. Jaffer was great years ago, but now he is only there three days a week for about 6 hours a day and does not keep current. He only treats your symptoms, does not make any attempt to find the cause and does not follow up on the recommended lab tests for the terrible side effects of the drugs he prescribes. Drug reps come into the office very often and he leaves patients waiting while he talks to them. The staff is the perfect example of when the cats away. They are a group of snarky, entitled underachievers who moan and complain instead of offering an excellent patient service. I was actually told by them that my insurance did not pay them enough to take the time to follow up on my questions! I have moved on to a real Scripps doctor, not just one who rents space in a Scripps building.

Completely unprofessional. I have been diagnosed with multiple different allergies and disease since my last visit with him to which he told me maybe I need psychiatric help.
Been a patient and friend for 40+ years wonderful doc better man

Safed my life and made me laugh. Dr. Jaffers treatment and care were invaluable at a critical time during my very serious health crisis.
In two visits, this is what I found: Hes creepy and unprofessional. He talks about irrelevant topics but doesnt have time to address the reason for your medical visit. Most of the office staff are unfriendly, unhappy people. Bless their hearts.
Very knowledgable, friendly staff. Dr Jaffer was great! If you do end up needing allergy shots, they have some time constraints on when you can get them.Mondays and Thursdays 8AM-11:45AM, 2PM 4:45PMTuesdays and Fridays 9AM-11:45AM, 2PM -4:45PMWednesdays from 9AM - 11:30AM
Really bad doctor. Completely lacking in compassion. Prescribed me prednisone in the early stages of my disease and it just destroyed me. (Avasular necrosis of femoral heads.) Seriously, be careful of some of these drugs that have long term side effects!! Horrible.
Really good doctor. Very thorough and doesnt rush patients out the door. Carefully explains things related to your condition even if they may not be allergy related.
I have blah insurance and got this referral through my GP. I wasnt expecting anyone worth writing about, but! Dr. Jaffer was just lovely. He is bright, capable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to give me a brief medical explanation of the immune system (with a chart and everything) of how people like me react to allergens. He was patient in explaining the treatment options (even down to what insurance typically covers). He asked me questions about my environment over the course of my life (because allergies are triggered by ones environment) and was attentive to my responses. He is personable and clearly is invested in helping his patients health improve. I left with a clear treatment plan and the sense that we will ameliorate, if not resolve, this affliction that has been a thorn in my side for most of my life. He also has a great, quick sense of humor, which made the overall experience even more positive. He is outstanding, and I would give him six stars if I could. I will keep updating this review as things progress I am surprised there arent any other reviews on Yelp for him.
I have an extremely complicated medical history. Many Rheumatologists either had no idea what to do, or simply did nothing. Some promised me quality of life and produced nothing. I was so tired of making all of my Rheumatological medical decisions alone without any guidance from my previous Rheumatologist. Then I was blessed with making an appointment and meeting Dr. Jaffer. Within minutes I started feeling something I hadent experienced in years. It was relief. I felt hope again. He had listened to everything I had said, then promply went to do what he does so well. He begain to relieve my pain and then he did what so many others couldnt. He gave me my life back. He gave me the quality of life I had so prayed for. I will always be grateful to Dr. Jaffer for my life as it is today, for my ability to be able to be there for my beautiful family. Dr. Jaffer is simply a genius as many of his patients know and several of my doctors acknowledge the same feeling. It doesnt get any better than this. Thank you Dr. Jaffer for your great care and for being the Dr. that you are.
