So I flew from the east coast to see this guy on good faith that he was a good surgeon. He basically said he didn't believe what my MRI said about me having a torn MCL PCL and torn meniscus. He said he trusted physical examinations to the MRI. He said he didn't believe I had a torn meniscus but he was willing to do what he called "exploratory surgery" which is a big red flag and I felt that meant he just wanted money. He basically told me to go back east and ice my knee. Needless to say I found a better surgeon in Los Angeles who treated me with more respect, listened to me, reassured me and got me on the right plan with physical therapy and surgery date. I was treated very poorly by this guy and he got my money but never again.

Dr. Hackley is wonderful! I saw him a couple of years ago when I fractured one ankle and sprained the other. He is compassionate and caring. Following his direction I was walking again very quickly. I'm now seeing him for severe shoulder pain which we are still working on to fully diagnose. I am 100% confident he will get to the bottom of my issue and will follow whatever he recommend without hesitation.

Another successful surgery at the hands of Dr Hackley, this time repairing my left knee from the damaged I experienced in a serious bike accident recently. As serious as the accident was wiping out my ability to bike, to ocean swim or even to walk I knew that Dr Hackley could be trusted to bring me back to the lifestyle that I value and love. I am just two weeks past the full acl replacement surgery and have received the thumbs up on my recovery and progress towards the day when i can rejoin my friends and family in the adventures that we love to share together. the office staff and Dr Hackley himself are professional, friendly and made this necessary surgery as easy as possible. i am grateful and confident in their work to help others as they have helped me.

Dr. Hackney took care of me and repaired my shoulder. He took time to listen and explained everything he would be doing. My post surgical care went very well and I believe I have recovered to the highest level that was possible.

Dr. Hackley did surgery on my daughter's broken ankle and she has two plates and 9 screws now. We both thought he was great and highly recommend him. He does a great job of explaining and reassuring his patients (and their parents!) and has a great bedside manner. He spent a good 10 minutes with me after her surgery going over everything and I really appreciated that. His office staff is also friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Top notch!

My son was hospitalized for 3 weeks at Scripps. Dr Hackley came to see him every day! He had great bedside manners. He did 3 operations on him. He was fabulous! I can’t say enough great things about him!!

Dr. Hackley is a gifted surgeon. Dr. Hackley put "Humpty Dumpty together again" aka my husband has broken both legs over the past few years, left leg below the knee, and recently right femur and hip fracture. The surgeries both went extremely well, recovery was rapid, scarring minimal. I would recommend Dr. Hackley without hesitation. I hope you never need an orthopedic, but if you do...Dr. David Hackley should be your go to Doctor.
