List of Edward C. Paredez's Reviews
This physician has an excellent bedside manner, and I felt extremely comfortable & safe undoing my first colonoscopy and EGD. His highly trained nurse anesthetist administered propofol and I was out for the entire procedure, waking up shortly after they were done. The staff are professional, kind and thorough. I felt compelled to write this positive review because I was nervous going into this - even though I was referred by my highly reputable internal medicine Dr. She was spot on in referring me to this office. The staff all seemed happy to be there and seemed to respect & enjoy working w Dr Paredez. This is important because it shows they take pride in their work and in turn will take good care of you. If you have any doubts, don't. You're in good hands. Literally!! Contacting the office beforehand mostly involved going through their automated system & waiting for a call back. A tiny bit of patience on your end will ensure you get in touch and get the best care once you're seen in person. Lastly, they did offer to call in the pills for my prep which I tolerated with no issues. It was a $30 co-pay and worth it. Good luck! And thanks Dr Paredez & staff for a positive experience.
My Mom is a cancer patient that's active on treatment & Dr. Paredez's staff was able to help my Mom be seen sooner than the 4 month wait I was originally given. Dr was kind to my Mom, straightforward too which we appreciate. The nurses helping my Mom during her colonoscopy were kind and worked very quickly. Overall, we had a pleasant experience & I would definitely refer family members here if needed.
Getting a hold of the office is nearly impossible. After I finally got in for my endoscopy and biopsy, the results were never sent to me and there was no follow up from the office. They have no online system and refused to send my own results in any way other than fax. Dr. Paredez confirmed my severe esophagus infection but didn't give me any direction on how to treat it or why I have this in the first place. The right thing to do would have been to tell me to see an immunologist/infectious disease doctor. He as a doctor should have warned me that this infection is rare and an indication of an immunodeficiency which I have now discovered with other doctors. Also they misspelled my name on the results documents....
Dr. Paredez is fine and provides required treatment but office staff is the worst. The Dr. assistant and scheduler are difficult to get hold off. Even after calling them multiple times of the day, they do not answer (hardly answer to voicemails) as well as do not reply to emails. After any procedure/tests, one has to wait for a week atleast till results are seen by doctor. Even after waiting for more than one week sometimes, when the tests/procedure results have been sent by lab/hospital already, the results are not seen by Dr or reach to Dr on time through staff. I have waited for a month, when lab sent results to Dr's office but the office staff doesn't give any updates. On another time, I had to make the facility call to Dr's assistant after which she provided update that Dr won't see results till another week ! Any results should be seen on time and should be reported to patient instead of waiting for that long. Patient has to check multiple times with dr' office whether results have reached (when the lab already sends it apparently Dr office doesn't get it!!). This is the most pathetic attitude I have seen in treating patients so far.
oh, my god. i wish other folks has a better experience than me. his assistant (Maria) never picks up the phone or even bother to send an email. When I eventually got hold of those ladies, she offers telephone appointment in 2.5 months’ time....
I was not even able to see doctor Paredez because it's impossible to get a hold of his office. Have been trying to call for a week, several times a day, no answer.
Kind, personable and caring. He was able to figure out a challenging issue quickly.
The office staff is deeply immature. They play high school games and treat patients like dirt. It’s not worth the bother, find another doctor with a professional staff.
I received top notch care with Dr. Paredez. He is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. He really is one of the top doctors in San Diego. The reception area employees were all very polite, cordial and helpful. All of the nurses who prepped me for the procedure were really great also. I could not have wished for better care. I would very enthusiastically recommend Dr. Paredez to everyone. I rarely write reviews but I received such good service that I am going out of my way to write one here. Five-star service without a doubt.
Dr. Paredez was professional and pleasant during my endoscopy and colonoscopy. He took several biopsies and told me I'd have the results in three business days. That was 8 days ago. I called his office twice and left messages inquiring about the results. No one returned my call. I finally reached his office person, and she informed me the results were on his desk, but he had looked at them yet. She said if something had been wrong, someone would've called me immediately. I asked her how Dr. P would know if anything was wrong or malignant if he hadn't had time to look at the results. She wasn't sure. She then went on to inform me he would be in the next day and might have time to look at them and get back to me then. Nice guy, but I'll seek medical treatment where the results are as important as scheduling procedures and collecting payment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
