List of Mahmood Mahdavi's Reviews
Ruined my health and life with aggressive treatment. Somehow surgery for my tonsils as a child turned into surgery on 5 things. Padding the bill! He removed nearly all of a nasal turbinate causing me breathing problems, bleeding and pain for life. I never complained up front to warrant such an excision. Perhaps it paid for a college bill for one of his children but I now suffer forever. I hope he fails to sleep well at night for what he has done to me.
Rip off, staff told me everything was included when I received surgery then kept charging me for more and more things. Would not refer anyone to Dr. Mohdavi’s office. The woman at the front desk doesn’t know how to speak without being combative. Worst experience I have had with any doctors office.
I have been to Dr Mahdavi since I was a little kid plagued with ear problems. I went to school with his children. He was my trusted doctor and I returned to his office after living in nyc post college. I went in for what I suspected was an ear infection, and after doing “a small procedure” aka seeing if I had an ear infection (seems like common practice in order to bill people) I was left with a $500 bill - even with excellent insurance. While dr mahdavi himself is kind and seemingly a good doctor- his staff are combative, rude, and beyond unhelpful. I was charged a “new patient fee” despite being his patient for over 17 years?!? It’s absurd, unethical, and his employees don’t belong in the medical field since they lack any amount of empathy. Please only visit this office if you are prepared to be billed frivolously.
Dr. Mahmoud repaired a nose bleeding issue that has plagued me for over a decade. Grateful for his expertise.

Leaving this review because I genuinely had a great experience with Dr. Mahdavi and his staff. From my first appointment to my post opt he has been understanding & did well explaining everything while not pressuring me into anything. I got my deviated septum corrected and had turbinate reduction done by him as well. Everything before, during the procedure and after has gone great. His nurses are friendly and also great at explaining things. They we very supportive after surgery as well by answering any extra questions I had after my post opt. Highly recommend!! *yes they do charge $75 per visit but that is told to you beforehand. To me it was just an expected co pay
I am surprised by all of the negative reviews. Dr. Mahdavi has been my ENT for many years. Often, I don't need to go. But he has excellent equipment and makes procedures very easy. I had a cauterization of a ruptured vessel and it did not hurt at all (more afterwards as the numbing wore off and I felt the burn).Usually I do not have to return for a follow up and the problem is solved after the first visit. Hoping I don't have to return now - and won't have to go again for a few years. If people are surprised he is limiting taking new patients, it may be because he's nearing retirement and doesn't want to be working 40 hours. But I'm so happy he has not retired yet. He's an extremely nice man, a great doctor and a very proud father (he has copies of his daughter's books in exam rooms to read). I hope he will still be working the next time I have a problem!
I had bilateral sinus surgery. This was a repeat due to years of allergic reactions that caused a recurring problem with my sinuses. My father was a physician and when I asked him where to go, he didn’t miss a beat in saying Dr. Mahdavi. I am glad I followed my fathers recommendation. I appreciate that Dr. Mahdavi is conservative in his approach to treatment, and he is very methodical in his work. When I speak to him and ask questions, he never interrupts. Dr. Mahdavi makes sure he understands my concerns and addresses every question I have without rushing. You will get as much time with the doctor as you need! Great doctor and great outcome.
He was recommended to my husband by the primary care doctor. There was suspicion of thyroid cancer. I am grateful for this man as he saved his life. An operation that was supposed to take 3 and a 1/2 hours went 9 hours. Dr. Mahadavi Saved my husband's ability to speak and eat. There will be more treatments, but without the skilled hand and patience and decades of doing this I cannot say that the outcome would have been what it is. After this exhaustingly long day he took the time to call me and offer all known information to date. He stated to call him if I had any further questions because obviously I was hit with a frying Pan. I found his bedside manner to be outstanding. I have seen every specialist on the planet between myself and my children. I would highly recommend you consult with this doctor if you feel/ are told you are in need of any head or neck surgery.
I was referred to Dr Mahdavi. I am an RN. Dr Mahdavi's examined me and assumed a facial expression of the Grim Reaper. Indeed, it was a challenging diagnosis. I felt such despair. I sought out treatment with MDs. It was far from hopeless. I am 100% now. Dr. Mahdavi should confine treatment to more basic can conditions. Had I not gone to other qualified doctors I would have given up

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
