List of Monica Perlman's Reviews
Have been a patient at Perlman Clinic for a few years and their services have gone way down hill recently. I have had two terrible experiences with providers that left me in tears, including one provider who refused to provide treatment for post partum issues and stated there "is no pill to help you with the difficulties of becoming a mother". All female patients of child bearing age should be aware that these providers are not able to provide compassionate care to women with children and you are better off waiting for availability with your Ob-gyn. My latest issue is with a physical therapy referral. First asked for referral about a year ago, was referred to one specific PT office that never returned multiple calls to book my initial appointment. I then sought treatment on my own via chiropractic, personal training, and massage therapy and was able to get the problems under control. I recently re-injured my neck and was told by provider Amy that I needed to do PT, to which I explained I had tried but was never able to get in with the PT office. Amy then said she would re-submit a PT referral but never did. I then researched PT offices near me that accepted my insurance and that had good reviews and few weeks later I asked for referral to that specific office at my annual wellness appointment. It has been three weeks since that appointment and multiple phone calls to Perlman to get the referral submitted to the PT office. They have been unable to fax or Mail the referral, despite multiple assurances that they have. The PT office has been amazing at following up on my behalf but have been unable to obtain the referral despite Perlman also telling them they faxed and mailed it. Finally today I drove 30 minutes to the nearest office to pick up a paper copy of the referral to submit on my own. I think all patients and potential patients should be aware of the incompetence of the both the clinical and office staff at Perlman. I have also asked multiple times to speak with the office manager about the issues and have never received a call back. I am now looking to change PCPs as I can longer continue with Perlman.
Outstanding service at Perlman clinics. I have been a patient of Dr. Perlman's for almost 10 years. I have been to several of the many Perlman clinics over the years, depending on appointment availability, and have never had a negative experience. All of the staff is friendly, professional, and competent. And, of course, Dr. Perlman is just the best! If you're looking for a primary care doctor, or even if you're not, I suggest you try the Perlman Clinics out.
I am new to Perlman Clinics in Encinitas. My office staff helped get us appointments in La Jolla for the latest Covid vaccination. We were met with the same courtesy and responsiveness that we experienced with our Encinitas clinic.Very happy with our move to Perlman.
Always a good visit with my PA Stephen Caso. Parking in the third floor and walking across bridge of Ximed garage is convenient.
I'm sure Perlman Clinic is great if you can get an actual appointment but their new post pandemic protocols are extremely frustrating. You can only schedule a Teledoc visit if you have any of the following : sore throat, cough, congestion, fever. That entails about 99% of what people go to the doctor for. In my case, I have a sore throat and ear ache. I had to do a teledoc appointment first, then I need to do a drive up to get swabbed for strep and covid. Only once the covid test comes back negative can I get my ear seen which has to be done in office...cant be done in drive through. So that would be another appointment and another copay which is garbage. I understand being careful about covid but I miss the days where you could see a doctor in person and get everything taken care of in one shot.
I have been going here for over 20 years and I always have a great experience. Everyone is always professional and appointments flow as scheduled.
My daughter and I liked the services we received from Perlman Clinic. The La Jolla office is not the location closest to us, but we selected it because Dr. Katherine Vuong practices there. We met her last year at our annual visit and were very pleased with her. She's friendly and thorough, and answered questions we had pertaining to our health. Scheduling for the visit was extremely convenient through the use of Pocket Doc. We were able to view the list of doctors available at each location for each time/day. With a few clicks of the buttons, we were able to schedule our visits. Check in at the office was also very quick and efficient. There is a parking structure where you have to get a ticket. If you ask the valet attendant to stamp your ticket, then parking is free. If you forget to get your ticket stamped, then you will need to pay.
Steven Caso is the best PA, caring and listens well. Great feedback and knows his profession!
Dr. Monica Perlman is professional, caring and outstanding. I recommend her to all my patients, friends & family. Nasrin Mani, MD
Stephen Caso listen's carefully to each of my issues, provides treatment options, discusses each one, let's patient make decisions and then he facilitates the next steps for meeting patient needs. Makes you feel that you had a fruitful office visit.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
