Don't go here. Records and demographics lost, my information in someone else's chart. Lack of front end help and management. More like a Tijuana clinic. No thanks
I’ve been charged extra when I used my insurance and paid my out of pocket price. I went there only once and I will never go back. I tried to get in touch with them via email (I have hearing disability) and they did not respond… I tried to resolve it via BBB THEY DID NOT RESPOND FOR THEM EITHER.
Very disappointing doctors office. No one knows anything that is going on. Unprofessional, unable to know anything about referrals. The PA there works under the impression that he is an MD. Warning be careful not where you want to go for your family care!
One of the best decisions I've ever made was signing up for concierge care with Dr. Perlman. I liked my previous doctor, who was skilled and caring, but it had become impossible to schedule an appointment in timely fashion. So I decided it was time to get a concierge doc. Dr. Perlman is extraordinary. I can always get an appointment within a day or two of calling--sometimes even the same day. It's easy to schedule telehealth appointments as well, and my most recent one saved me from a serious problem. I called to report mild but unusual abdominal discomfort and general malaise, and Dr. Perlman was on a telehealth call with me within the hour. She arranged for me to have an immediate CT scan, and soon as she saw the results, she instructed me not to pass go but to head straight for the ER. I turned out to have a ruptured appendix that needed immediate surgery. Dr. Perlman texted me to check on how I was doing in the hospital. And it's a good thing she did, as I ended up with serious post-surgical complications. She was so attentive and helpful throughout. She also intervened to help me get IR (interventional radiology); without her advocacy, I would have had to wait several days to receive this much-needed treatment, even as my infection was rapidly growing worse. Anyone hospitalized needs an advocate. Dr. Perlman was that advocate for me. I felt so much less alone knowing that she was watching out for me. She also made all the difference in my post-hospital care, saving me from having to go into a 24/7 skilled nursing facility just to get a daily 5-minute wound change. Instead, she offered to do this in-office, with her NP and PA staff. Physician Assistant Kristen was gentle and skilled with these wound changes--and even got me to laugh through the pain! When I saw the surgeon two weeks later, he was amazed at how well my wound was healing. I credit this not only to Kristin's skill, but also to the fact that I was able to recover at home, getting good rest and sleep--difficult to achieve in a nursing home (one which I later discovered was having a COVID outbreak!) I should add that the entire staff at the Ximed Building Perlman clinic is wonderful--so warm and kind and helpful, like the doctor herself (a shout-out here to Diana, Priscilla, Jesse, Roxana). As I said in the beginning of this review, choosing Dr. Perlman as my doctor and advocate is one of the best decisions I ever made!
The Perlman Clinic on Ivanhoe in La Jolla is a JOKE
By far the best doctor I have ever known. Listen to what the patient needs. Will take the time to listen to your concern and will go the extra mile to make sure your concerns are addressed. Deserves 10 stars!
Excellent care and ideas
Waited over 30 minutes for check in. Then another 20 minutes in the clinicians room until finally seen.
Perlman Clinic is simply the best. Everyone is courteous, kind, professional, thorough and patient. Special kudos to Dr. Perlman and Roxanne.
Dr. Monica Perlman is my primary care doctor for two years. I like her because she is a good listener, caring, and helpful. She makes sure I understand what she is explaining to me. She respects me and makes me feel comfortable. She is a great doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
