Fortune smiled on me when I ended up in the care of Dr. Bortz while visiting Del Mar, CA. Dr. Bortz was attentive, responsive, thorough and meticulous in not only my care while admitted to Scripps via their ER, but after my discharge from the hospital and my return home to Idaho. The story is too long for this medium, but my family and I will be eternally grateful for Dr. Bortz’s expertise, knowledge, care, and bedside manner. If I am ever faced with similar, or related, issues to those that introduced me to Dr. Bortz, not only will I be calling Dr. Bortz to get his opinion because of the confidence that I have in him, but I will make that call knowing that he will answer because I know he is a surgeon who cares that much about his patients.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Bortz at the ER Dept at Scripps and I thank god Dr. Bortz was there that day. I was previously miss diagnosed by a different doctor but when Dr Bortz was called to look at my CT scan he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. Within 2 days Dr.Bortz did the surgery that I needed and for that I will always be thankful because had he not seen things the way that he did I would hate to think what my outcome would have been. Dr. Bortz is very knowledgeable, always pleasant and has a very good sense of humor also very easy to talk to. I never have liked going to the doctor but I think Dr Bortz has changed this for me. I really wish all doctors were like Dr Bortz but I know that’s not possible so for now I feel so blessed and very thankful that he came into my life when he did. He’s the BEST! Thanks again Dr Bortz! I have been a patient at Olde Del Mar for over 2 years and they have treated me with compassion and respect. My gastric bypass was performed in 2019 by Dr Bhoyrul and Kirsten who checked on me daily post op. Recently I was seen by Dr Bortz who didn’t give up when my insurance kept denying me prior authorization for a new medication. He responded to my questions and issues with the insurance quickly and as a result my insurance approved the PA. I highly recommend Olde Del Mar and all of their surgeons. Everyone in the office treats you like family.

My family and I are very grateful to have had Dr. Pascal Bortz for treatment of my severe stomach problems, including severe abdominal pain. I always had severe stomach pain after eating except for very few food items.Dr. Bortz determined that the best treatment would be the removal of my gallbladder. He performed a very successful surgery. My recovery has been beyond my best expectations. I have not had any abdominal pains and only minor pain as a result of the incisions. I only needed 1 1/2 pain pills then used acetaminophen for pain the next couple of days. I have not had any pain after eating many kinds of food.My husband and I thank God for providing me a very skilled, excellent doctor and surgeon. Dr. Bortz we don't have the words to express how much pain you have removed from my life and how grateful and happy I am.I highly recommend Dr. Bortz for treatment of medical problems.

DR Bortz is an outstanding doctor and I highly recommend him to anyone needing his type of Services. After being in and out of the hospital 3 times since February, Dr Bortz has been a major factor in my care both in and out of the hospital His after surgery care is better than anyone of any profession that I have been associated with over the last 50 years. He followed up with the other doctors that were treating me. He was also proactive suggesting procedures for me to other doctors. He followed my case daily and also on the weekends.
