After several years of seeking the help of other physicians, I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Pascal Bortz. After the first visit, he identified the issue that was causing my chronic pain and ongoing symptoms. He and his staff provided excellent care and communication and now two weeks later and after undergoing surgery to address my gallbladder problems I am happy to say I have not felt this good in years. I was diagnosed with gallstones on a recent visit to the emergency room. Dr Pascal Bortz stepped in and removed my gallbladder using a robotic procedure. This procedure is similar to a laparoscopy where a camera provides visual assistanice to the surgeon who removes the gallbladder thru several small incisions. Apparently since the robotic arm is smaller than a hand, the Doctor can manipulate it to navigate the abdominal area with less impact. I could have been released that day but decided to stay overnight. No pain meds were needed and I am clear for driving and exercise after two weeks. How amazing is that? Thanks Dr. Bortz!

Dr Bortz did excellent work during my gallbladder surgery. He gave me excellent care and treatment. I experienced minimal pain during recovery. He and his staff treated me like his family member. He also sent an urgent referral to an advanced endoscopist whom he trusted implicitly for my ERCP to remove stones from my common bile duct. I feel that I received the best possible care and treatment and could not be happier with my results. I am grateful to Dr Bortz and highly recommend him.

My go-to for General and Bariatric Surgery! Proud to refer my patients to the highly-skilled Dr. Bortz as he consistently provides excellent care to our mutual patients. Access is never an issue as his staff accommodates my patients in a timely manner.

If I could give Dr. Bortz 100 stars I would, I never write reviews but I was compelled to after being taken care of him & his staff. Having gone to the hospital many times for deverticulitis, eventually led to surgery. I was scared out of my mind for many reasons, not only did Dr. Bortz always eased my mind & my families but he also met with me before surgery to remind me I would be ok this meant so much for me. After surgery follow up with him in his office was so easy, contacting him via email & him responding was even more easier. He answers all your questions, he is never in a hurry like most Drs. He takes his time to explain to you, & provides you the needed comfort you need when going trough something scary & major. He’s an excellent Dr. Because he’s an amazing human, he enjoys his work & it just makes him 1000% more better at what he does. I can’t speak anymore highly of him, Scrips is lucky to have him there. I was lucky to have him at my bedside when I arrived.

Hit the jackpot at Scripps La Jolla when Dr. Bortz was called in for my emergency strangulated hernia surgery at 2 am. Saved all my colon, and my life. Great bedside manner, I can't thank him enough.
