I have been a patient of Dr Butler for 8 yrs. I am a professional and have countless doctor and friends in the medical field.I had an enlarged prostate. Wanting to have the least invasive procedure, I had the Eurolift as suggested by Dr. Butler. I was not clearly told of the true efficacy of lack thereof of the procedure for my individual case.$12,000 and 3 yrs later I had to have a more permanent solution.When I returned to have a consultation I was told by Dr. Butler I should have done a "TURP" 5 yrs prior! ( after he collected $12000 for Eurolift!When I asked him about getting several other professional opinions on this procedure he was both reluctant and seemed insecure.He scheduled me to have the TURP several days later.Fortunately, I was able to visit a top urologist- ( professor)At UCSD who patiently took time to explain that the TURP was not as precise as GREEN LIGHT LASER and could have side effects: ED, incontinence, and other complications. ( Dr Butler did not see the Green light laser as a valid option. He also told me he had to remove the clips from the eurolift! ( something Dr Butler never suggested)Two years later I have had 100% success with NO SIDE EFFECTS!It's like I am 35 yrs old!I have spoken to several friends having undergone the TURP - side effects included incontinence and other terrible complications.Future patients:Do your due diligence! It's your body, get 2-3 other professional opinions. The consequences of the wrong procedure and using a less informed doctor could adversely affect you for the REST of your life!!

I love Dr. Butler and have been his patient more than 10 years. He is very kind and caring, explains things well and is not a pushy, dogmatic or a difficult doctor in any way. If you need a Urologist, he and his team come highly recommended for their work, patient care and excellence of service

Doctor Butler is a good Urologist, he listens to you and gives you options for solutions. If one treatment doesn't work he will have other options. The nurses are all very nice and helpful.

7 years ago I left a crowded waiting room after figuring out the wait time was hours. While leaving I was not happy and commented they will need to finish their catered lunch first to the other frustrated folks waiting. Lunch had been delivered during this time. When I called to make new appointment I was told I could not be his patient anymore due to my leaving and comments. At the time I felt it was petty and vindictive behavior for anyone let alone physician. Now years later I inadvertently made an appointment with a doctor in his group. I got a call saying they would have to cancel it because my file was red flagged that I left an appointment upset. Wow what doctor has such an easily bruised ego? Or carries a grudge for years? Do they watch video of waiting room? And then seeth in anger plotting their revenge to make sure that patient does not have access to any doctor in their group? This behavior does not speak well and I would avoid him and his Group.

I have been a patient with Dr. Butler for over 12 years and have found him to be excellent in every way. Caring, attentive, informative and knowledgeable. He is highly recommended!There is never any real wait time, 10 minutes maximum, and the nurses and team have smiles and are are enthusiastically helpful. The online pre-check is quite helpful and time saving.

I had only two appointments at this facility and it was not the best experience . My first appointment they checked me in and brought me back, I sat in my room for an hour! To have a ten minute appointment with the doctor. The second appointment was the same way, except I waited an hour and had a 5 minute appointment. He also seem to not care as much as other providers I've seen.

Very professional and friendly. Willing to take time to communicate thoroughly. I think he cares.

Dr. Butler is a very experienced urologist. He is very attentive, patient and pays attention to details. Dr. Butler has explained to me all the options and expressed his opinion regarding the best procedure for me. My surgery went really well, and the post-op visit was efficient and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Butler to anyone who needs help with urology problems. He is the doctor you can trust!

I DO NOT THINK DR PHILLIP BUTLER at the la jolla, ca. Office IS A ( TRUE PROFESSINAL) WHY? BECAUSE OF THE WAY I WAS TREATED BY HIM ( IN MY FIRST VISIT RIGHT OFF THE BAT) HE GREETED BY MAKING REMARKS ABOUT ( MY FIRST and LAST MAME) imagine how he made feel, this came from a "DOCTOR" somebody you put your trust on. The experience WAS HORRIBLE. I can not beleive r was treated that way.
