Identified and addressed emergency problem in an expeditious fashion. Excellent communicator. Technically very skilled and extremely experienced. Importantly, not just a skilled surgeon, but also a compassionate person. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone requiring neurosurgical care.

I had a cyst on my L2-L3. Dr Ostrup was awesome…even after Michigan lost their football Bowl, but also I absolutely loved the nurses! Rita Gibson took care of me all night when I couldn’t sleep, and Tara Koch took over in the morning and they both made me feel like I was only person in the hospital! Utterly, amazing all around!

I had to quit working & went straight to bed, because my back started hurting worse & worse, until I couldn’t even sit up. I was put in the Permanent pain clinic @ Scripps Memorial because no one could diagnose my problem. We were told that Dr. Ostrup in that year, was listed as one of the top 10 neurosurgeon’s in the US. So we went to him, & he diagnosed me right away! & after 3 surgeries about 6 months apart, my back problems were totally fixed! I’ve been pain free & working full time again for many years. I’m still so grateful, as serious back pain is like an unending nightmare that won’t go away, in fact, only get’s worse with time. Thank you Dr. Ostrup!

I have been dealing with back and sciatica pain for a long time. I tried conservative care but to no avail. I finally was able to see Dr. Ostrup. He and his staff were very nice and thorough. He made me feel comfortable from the start. I expected a long wait to get a surgery date but to my surprise I was scheduled a date a few days later. Thank you Dr. Ostrup and staff you all are great 😃.

I ruptured my disc between L3-L4 and after about two months of visiting my chiropractor and coming home in greater pain than I went in with, I decided one day to go to the ED. I am so thankful I did since I received a referral to Dr. Ostrup and my life changed for the better at that moment. When my wife and I went in for our first visit we were immediately impressed with Dr. Ostrup's manner. He was confident, explained what had happened, and showed us what had happened on the CT Scan. He recommended surgery which we agreed to. Here I am, two months later almost back to normal. We greatly admire Dr. Ostrup and would recommend him to anyone. The office staff was great too, especially Erica. She was a delight and helped us navigate the process.
