Dr Banaie and his staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend them

Do yourself a favor and avoid this doctor and his awful staff. The doctor has very limited availability for appointments or even a return phone call, gave poor and unhelpful advice and was not able to help me. In addition, his receptionist is an absolute nightmare... she is just rude and mean!

Had a very smooth procedure with much kindness from Dr and his staff. Such a nice Doctor.

Terrible front office coordination resulted in unnecessary prep work for routine colonoscopy and out-of-pocket patient costs. My insurance company required pre-authorization prior to the procedure. I was not made aware of this until 4:30pm the day before the procedure when sharp grossmont hospital stated that i would need to pay out of pocket for the procedure unless authorization was received. This was after I had already begun prepping and pooping. Front office staff called me back and told me that authorization had been received and i could complete my prep and show up for the procedure the next day. I showed up for my procedure at the hospital and admissions said insurance authorization had not been received. I either had to pay out of pocket for the colonoscopy or reschedule. Because of the poor scheduling and communication by the front office staff, i had to prepare for a colonoscopy procedure that could not be performed. Had they promptly communicated there was a hang-up with obtaining authorization, i would have happily rescheduled instead. I'm going to find another Gastroenterologist instead

I have always had exceptional care from Dr Banaie and his staff. I wish people who were pleased with this office would post their pleasant reviews. The people who posted negative reviews I am baffled as to why? The Doctor is compassionate and professional. He relates well to people ,listens and takes appropriate action on the symptoms. He correctly diagnosed my condition and placed me on the medication. I feel 100% better. The staff is prompt in my care needs and efficient. I have never had a poor experience. I would absolutely recommend this office to anyone requiring a GI physician. Ignore the bad review and find out for yourself.

Stopped going to Dr. Banaie because of his front office staff. Merrie is THE WORST!!! She is so uncaring. She has no compassion and is rude.

This office has been so great with everything and made me feel that they care about my health. I’ve had some weird health issues and the doctors, nurse practitioner, and front office staff has been on top of everything for me. Making sure that tests needed are done, they educate me on what they are doing and have answered various questions I’ve had when I’ve called in to the office. The have really advocated for me to find out what is going on and have really listened and sympathized with what Im dealing with. I’m thoroughly impressed and would recommend to anyone that needs this specialized care.

"Merrie" who answers the calls is extremely rude and unpleasant. Not a good first impression for who ever is calling to schedule appointments for the first time. She has the worst phone etiquette I have ever come across.

Dr. Banaie is one of the most caring Dr.’s I’ve ever met. He did a Gastroscopy on me about a month ago and then came to see me in the hospital a few weeks ago each day I was there. So it breaks my heart to give this rating but I can’t get a returned phone call from Dr. Banaie or his wonderful NP Allison.However, I do realize the reason for this totally falls on the shoulders of his extraordinarily ...

The receptionist Merrie is very unprofessional, RUDE, ill-mannered, unpleasant, salty, impolite, tastelessness. She has no phone etiquette and patient care is not a priority. Baffled on why a Physician would keep a repulsive immoral person to be the voice and face of his practice. First impressions speak volumes in a medical office. Merrie is a rotten apple to the practice.
