List of David & Donna Long Cancer Center's Reviews
I had the best experience at the David and Donna Long Cancer Center. From the minute I arrived to the minute I left I was treated with compassion and respect and even humor. That was so comforting to me. Information was readily available and I was thankful for the professionalism of the staff. Big thanks to everyone, Miriam, Tiffany, Michelle, Sandy, Alley, Vivian, Meghan, Val and Dr. DeWitt!
I am a patient at the David and Donna Long Cancer Center, a special department at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Today was my 15th and last radiation treatment there. I was given a beautiful goodbye by the staff. They asked me to ring a bell: “Ring this bell, three times well, its toll to clearly say, MY TREATMENTS DONE, this course is run, and I am on my way! Then they happily clapped for me. I was even given a Certificate of Completion: “Sharp Grossmont Cancer Center hereby certifies” that I had indeed graduated! It was a perfect end to my treatment there. My care team was amazing, compassionate, knowledgeable, trusted, going out of their way to make my treatment as painless as possible. I could sense they were a team; they loved their jobs; they were united in their efforts to best serve their patients. To say I am grateful and blessed is putting it mildly … I was overwhelmingly happy I chose them! Kay Cunningham
I was brought here after an attempt. The way I was treated made me feel like I should've been ashamed it didn't work. I overheard staff communicating amongst each other about my situation, when told how many pills I took one of the responses was "that's it?" Not to mention the nurses were nothing but rude. I had an IV in my arm since the time I got there (I was there for almost six hours) and it was beginning to hurt my arm. All the fluids were finished and I was requesting to get the IV out but no one wanted to take the time to help me. Due to all the fluids I had to use the restroom a lot, they let me get up and go twice with supervision but eventually wanted me to urinate in my bed? It was humiliating. I hate this place more than the actual behavioral health center I was sent to.
I just wanted to leave my honest review I will not be returning back to this hospital. This once was a hospital I really respected and got good care at but over the years things a lot has changed. I was having severe pain and I went to emergency on the trolley. When I arrived there I was seen very quickly but the doctors didn't give me the kind of care I needed. I was laying in the bed shivering cold and nobody offered me a warm blanket. I had to get up and ask someone and I was dismissed by a doctor. he ignore me and told me he was busy when there was hardly anybody there. I had to get a cyst drained and we all know how painful that can be I was in tears the numbing cream did not work, I felt everything and I was crying in pain. All the nurses said was I told you this wasn't going to be comfortable that it would be painful, it was traumatic. Afterwards there was blood everywhere and the doctor told me that she would bring me wipes... She told me I can go home she didn't provide me with any pain medication only a prescription that I had to get the next day. I arrived at 10:00 pm at hospital on the trolley and I did not leave until 2: 20am in the morning. Of course if you ride the trolley you know that the trolley does not run until 4:00 am in the morning, I was stuck there. And I didn't feel comfortable staying there longer than needed I was rushed out! I do think that I should have got a bed to rest in for a little considering I had just got a painful procedure done And was bleeding still, I paid for my visit but didn't get the treatment I deserved. Instead I was in pain and I was rushed out, very quickly the lady told me I can wait in the lobby when I could barely sit due to pain! One thing I can say is it seems like this hospital is all about money they'll be quick to ask you your insurance or ask you what your debit card information is but don't give you the proper care that you need as a human being. So I will not be coming back here I'll spend my money elsewhere they really need to start caring more about their patients. Luckily I was able to get home late at night I was so happy to be out of there.
Dr. Chris Young I think his first name is Chris, you know out of 35 years of being on the side of heaven I've never ran into a doctor that actually cared and I mean as far as not going straight to do an MRI CT scan if you don't absolutely have to. Thank you Dr. thank you for showing me that there are people out there who don't want to just upsell and up charge you and they do care about your actual well-being. I wish you all the health and all the wealth and I hope you get a huge holiday bonus because you deserve it..
If you go to Grossmont Hospital, neuroscience department. The two ladies that work in the front, their customer service there one of them her customer service skills is so disrespectful, and she is so disrespectful. She thinks she rules the department, but understand patients make the department and when people see this, I would never want my family member to go there if they hire people like that they're Sharp experience was horrible and they claim they have respect for their customers. I guess they tell their concierge's or customer service reps that they can just talk to the customers the young lady there has to talk to her parents very horrible, and I thought customers are first not your cell phone. She was so buried into her cell phone. I stood there for some seconds she never looked up, but she did but into the conversation once me and the other lady. we're having words if I could give them on her customer service behavior. It would be a-negative ten.
Can't thank the Interventional Radiology team of Dr. Viets, Nurse Armando C. , Nurse Matthew W. and Radiology Tech Abraham F. They provided extreme stellar care for my mom with her angiogram on 11/24/25. She was very nervous, but each and every one of them put her mind at ease, answered all her questions, and she felt very well taken care of. When going through a medical procedure, it is very overwhelming but to know there are professionals who are not only highly skilled, but who genuinely care about you as a patient and as a person- makes all the difference in the world. I hope all the highest administrators are able to view this review, as these individuals deserve all the praise and accolades available! Thank you to each of you!!!
Doc and staff have great bedside manner. I've had many experiences with other places not taking my pain seriously, and sharps did. They did testing to find any underlying issue as well as help with current pain management. Also love their app so I never feel in the dark about my healthcare.
It's a shit show to get in the urgent care. There's a fat Mexican with tattoos and a nurse with long black hair long nails Mexican as well very rude not helpful at all. Beware first time coming to this emergency room as soon as you walk. In bad experience never again While I come to this emergency room and professionalism. People need to be retrained in customer service me as a patient I pay their salary.
Hi there I wanted to say thank you to all of the health professionals who helped take care of me about a week or two ago. I was so sick and that I was so heavily over medicated that it made me unresponsive so I'm doing better now I am back in my own bed and I have 24 hour care so once again thank you for doing everything possible to help save my life

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
