List of James Malinak's Reviews
Great rheumatologist. I think he could have done a more thorough work up especially with the lab work. His office staff is a different story. MAs are great but front desk is AWFUL. I literally don't even go there anymore because I have had the worst interactions with them. I don't understand why good doctor's hire such terrible staff...
Good rheumatologist although I think his lab work up could have been more comprehensive. MAs are wonderful but front desk staff is AWFUL.
Horrible service. I tried setting up as a new patient and the person on the phone was so unprofessional completely unhelpful. I am not sure if the doctors know what kind of people they end up hiring. What a horrible experience.
Dr. Malinak is an awesome Rheumatologist & Physician! He also doubles as my family physician.....to the tune of 18 years now. I like him because of his wonderful bedside manner. He is very low key, positive & very knowledgeable on many things....for me that's great since I am a bit of a complicated case with my Ehlers Danlos. Yet he doesn't have a huge ego like some other physicians....meaning that if he doesn't know something, he'll admit it, look up the issue or consult with another physician or specialist regarding your issue. I would highly recommend him & you would count yourself lucky to have him as your physician. On a small side note, like many physicians these days....Dr. Malinak doesn't do pain management & will likely refer you out to a Pain Management specialist, if needed. Also, I do believe he is accepting patients at this time, too~

Truly one of the nicest people and best doctors I have ever met! I met Dr. Malinak and his son (an extremely nice and professional young man who just finished medical school) several months ago. I became sick after donating my stem cells to a complete stranger through the Be The Match Foundation, and was referred to Dr. Malinak by my Oncologist. Dr. Malinak and his son took the time to sit down and listen to my story and they truly showed sympathy and cared for what I had to say. They were right on time for my appointment and asked all of the right questions to get to know me and my medical history. The front desk girl named Sierra was also extremely nice and very helpful when I asked her some questions. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Malinak and his staff, as they have treated me like family. I strongly recommend anyone who needs an amazing Rheumatologist to schedule an appointment with Dr. Malinak, as you will get the best medical care and help that you need.
Has been my specialist for over 10 years and with my new coverage, can no longer visit his office. He refused my pain prescription to be renewed in the interim of finding a new doctor and dismissed my care all together. Stack this with an extremely rude staff, I would stay away. It became very apparent that his business is a much higher priority than the care of his patients.
Refused my prescription refill once I got new medi- cal coverage that he does not accept. Have been seeing him for over 10 years, suddenly treats me like a stranger and refused my normal pain prescription in the interim of finding a new doctor. Unbelievable how I was treated, his business is obviously more important than his customers.
Refused my mothers prescription refill once she got new medi-cal coverage that he apparently does not accept. Had to cancel her final appointment due to BREAST CANCER surgery and made sure to let the front desk know that. Has been seeing him for over 10 years, suddenly treats her like a stranger and refused her normal pain prescription in the interim of finding a new doctor. Unbelievable how she was treated, his business is obviously more important than the health and well being of his patients. Staff is also rude, especially considering this is supposed to be a medical care facility. Front desk is especially rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
