List of La Mesa Pediatrics's Reviews
There is no way to contact this office in a meaningful way. They have no direct line yet, if you leave a message, they will not return it. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place when there are other options.
Dr. Imus is one of the best doctors at this clinic. He is always responsive and takes the time to address all questions and concerns
La Mesa Peds has been my daughter's primary care since she was born, however today I was late for my appointment (things happen, I have a toddler.) I called to give them a heads up I'll be late, she advised me that it was up to the dr when I get there. I had no issue driving just to even see however, my issue is with the front desk staff. They made the experience horrible, I could sense judgement and like they wanted me to be turned away. I was talking to one lady and the other lady was budding in saying "yea that's gonna be a no show." I understand that it was my fault for being late and missing my appointment, BUT I didn't need to feel embarrassed for it. Sometimes a little understanding and kindness goes a long way! If you're looking for good doctors and don't care about how the front staff treat you then go here, otherwise if you're looking for overall experience I wouldn't recommend solely because of front staff.
Well! What a surprise! This office is quick efficent and super kid friendly. Came here for a physical and how through Lindsey the NP was, she listened and asked questions. It really felt like a genuine connection. I would recommend this place if you are in network. They also take med-ical
My family really loves La Mesa Peds! We've have been very taken care of with daughter from being seen in the hospital through her toddler years. We've been seen by a variety of NPs and MDs and they are so great with kids. Friendly nurses and staff, easy to schedule appointments. The use My Chart and answer my questions! Very happy with our Pediatrician
The doctors here are knowledgeable and the group practice provides flexibility with appointments and scheduling. Parking in the lot with some dedicated spots for La Mesa Peds, they're on the second floor east side of the building complex. The quality of care has been good so far with our newborn baby. The office staff are kind and helpful.
Maria is very unprofessional and rude!! I have never had a problem until running into her. Everyone else in the office tries to help but she will do anything to make it hard for you. I will be looking into other doctors after 6 years with the same doctor because of her. Very unprofessional if she answers the phone might as well hang up and call back someone who will help because MARIA will just give you a hard day even if you have a flat tire and your sick kid is sleeping she will expect you to uber there with your sick kid even tho he is taking a nap and mark you a NO SHOW even though you called that same day to make the appointment and told them the same day it was in our best interest to not pull him through the sick entrance. La Mesa Pediatrics has never been the same since 2025 what a shame. Maria needs to go work at the DMV with her attitude.
It’s hard to ignore what’s happening here. Families are being pushed toward fully vaccinating on an accelerated schedule by age two. We are not anti-vaccine, but we do believe in a more spaced-out approach, similar to many European models that use less aggressive timelines and still produce strong outcomes. What’s not being talked about enough is the financial side. Insurance companies often use “pay-for-performance” systems, where pediatric offices are incentivized to hit vaccine compliance targets. That creates pressure throughout the system, from pharmaceutical companies to insurers to doctors. Families deserve transparency. Health decisions shouldn’t be influenced by financial incentives.
I had a very frustrating experience with this office. After being taken back to the room, we waited over 30 minutes to be seen, which has happened at several appointments. The front desk is polite but not very welcoming, though Dr. Ronquillo’s assistant was kind and understanding with my baby. Unfortunately, Dr. Ronquillo’s bedside manner felt poor. I declined the flu shot multiple times but felt pressured and guilted about my decision. Due to the long wait, my daughter was upset during the exam, and some comments and the way her ears were checked made me uncomfortable. I became very anxious and chose not to proceed with vaccines, and her response made me feel like an inconvenience. I also noticed a couple errors between my daughter’s immunization card and what was in their system. Because of this experience, I’ve decided to leave La Mesa Pediatrics for good and encourage all parents to advocate for your children.
Excellent practice. Great to see that they practice inclusivity. Dr. Ronquillo is a great pediatrician, my child loves her. She takes her time and is very patient. Great bedside manners. The nurse Josephine was very kind and attentive. We have also seen Dr. Empie and she was great as well. We are always pleased with the staff and overall care. Thank you for the great care! Thank you for the great care!.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
