List of MIchael P. Kimball's Reviews
After waiting more than a week for a response from the office manager, I am compelled to share my experience here. I have left very few reviews before now. I waited almost 2 months for my visit in this office. Before that I spent a month just trying to schedule with them, waiting more than a week and getting no response after each call I made to set an appointment. Finally reaching a live person, they required I get x-rays before I could schedule an appointment. After getting my x-rays and waiting several more weeks for my appointment time, I arrived to my appointment, nine minutes late, due to heavy road work, and the fact that I needed to walk several blocks. Nine minutes. I explained the parking situation and road work, explained that the parking lot excepts only cash (?!), explained that I live more than 45 minutes away. No reasonable explanation. I was rescheduled for approximately one month later. I arrived early to my next appointment, but the receptionist informed me that I had been ‘redirected’. They would not see me, and had canceled my appointment without informing me. The explanation was ‘because I had been late for the initial appointment’. Asking, to understand how this makes sense, I learned from the same receptionist, Jamie, that doctor Kimball had made the decision himself, but no other explanation was given. After my waiting, and driving repeatedly, getting the x-ray before being even allowed to schedule, I felt like I deserve at least an explanation, and a phone call letting me know in the month i’d waited for my last appointment that it had been canceled. I was afforded none of that, nor a response from the office manager. I’m a reasonable person, and healthcare provider myself. After all this, I still would have been able to let it go With an acknowledgment from somebody that I had an unusual experience, that this is not normal practice for this office… some understanding. It’s bewildering.
Over the years i have been treated by Dr Kimball for knee pain, a broken ankle and most recently a torn rotator cuff ligament. Each treatment resolved with improved condition. Each time he emphasized that surgery is not the first option & ordered physical therapy as the first treatment. The first two resolved without surgery. The last would only resolve with surgery since the ligament was completely detached. Since the surgery & PT I have regained full range of motion & still working on strength. He knows what he’s doing.
The guy is useless. Avoid him at all costs. Had to cancel my surgery with him because he can't even listen to patients during a consultation. He didn't have a full understanding of the situation so the surgery needed to be canceled. The whole experience with him was terrible. His staff are a pleasure but the man himself is pretty useless. Stay away.
He set me back months. He didn't pay attention in consultation and as a result had to cancel the surgery because he couldn't even listen to the whole situation. Dude is a joke. I will sort out these issues with a real doctor now.
Terrible. He didn't pay attention during consultation, scheduled a surgery without full understanding and had to cancel it because he couldn't get the job done. Set me back months . Avoid him at all costs he can't even listen forget about operate.
Experienced and skilled surgeon who listens, is easy to talk to, and has never kept me waiting longer than 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. Competent and friendly staff.
Very happy with Dr. Kimball. It is obvious that he puts a great deal of thought into "next steps" rather than giving brash knee-jerk quick conclusions. I am very pleased with his expertise and congeniality. He is definitely tops in his field and uses his strengths to his patients' benefits. Highly recommended.
January 27, 2019 Sunday Time 3:39 PM Dr. Michael P. Kimball MD. is a fantastic doctor. Dr. Michael P. Kimball has been my orthopedic doctor for about 3 to 4 months. Dr Michael Kimball was referred to me.by my primary doctor. Dr. Christopher Gordon MD. suggest that I go see Dr. Michael P. Kimball as he takes my insurance, and he is highly qualified for orthopedic surgeon. He is going to do the reconstruction surgey,, on my right shoulder this coming Wednesday January 30, 2019 at the La Jolla, California Surgery out patient care center. I hope everything goes well for me. After that I will have to have physical therapy so I can have reuse of my right shoulder, and arm. I was told that I injured my legitimate, and muscles on my right shoulder and now I have trouble raising my right shoulder, in the air. So after the surgery on this coming Wednesday I will not be able to do anything at all for a long while. So I (Gail Ann Phipps-Bastian) is in good hands, and I will be taken care of very carefully by Dr.Michael P. Kimball MD. GOD BE WITH ME AND GUIDE DR. MICHAEL P. KIMBALL STEADY HANDS AS HE DOES THE SURGERY TO REPAIR MY RIGHT SHOULDER. AMEN
This guy is a nightmare with absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever. He’s so rude and belittling, and completely rushed me through my consultation while pushing surgery. When I asked questions about this huge decision he just rattled out a bunch of medical jargon quickly and looked at me like I’m an idiot. Excuse me for not going to medical school, at least I know how to treat people with respect and dignity. I hope for the sake of his patients his surgical skills are better than his pompous, smug attitude.
Under direct control of insurance company to deny help when needed. Lied multiple times to me and the courts. Would not trust this man with a 10 foot poll. He falsely claimed he was a neck surgeon to the state of California to get neck injury patient only to find out later he is only a hand surgeon who claims it doesn't matter when it comes to treating neck conditions. Worst doctor I have even met in my life..
