Samuel Etchie's Online Review Report Card

My father was under his care and it was horrendous. Prescribed medication without reason. Won’t call back to explain. Worst care I’ve ever experienced.

Well, I was a patient of Dr. Etchie for about 10 years. Had some problems. The last time I saw him I read the report which claimed I went to the ER for cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. It was completely untrue. I have been clean of cocaine, completely, for over 25 years, since 1997, I don't do meth and haven't for quite a while and I can't smoke marijuana because I have a panic attack every single time. I actually called 911 because I was about to hang myself with my belt in the closet.Also, before I left, he called my mother at home without consent or license and claimed my insurance didn't work. I have been 100% disabled since 2006 and have perfect insurance. He never talked to me, he just put me on medication, without knowing was what my concerns. The second time he talked to me, he just asked, why I didn’t take the medication. I politely ask for someone who speak Spanish, and he responded to me so rude, that no ones speaks Spanish. I don’t know how he is a doctor and have other’s life’s under his “control” he decides what to do with you, without a therapy. A really nightmare.

This Doctor is in my opinion the best Doctor I have ever had. I felt like I was talking to a family member rather than a My Doctor. He is very caring and wants to make sure you live a happy healthy productive life.

My grandmother worked with doctor Etchie at his psych hospital. He treats me mother in law, myself, and my husband. My husband for BPD, CTE Bipolar Manic Depression, and extreme anxiety. He has been my husbands doctor for 10 years. My husband recently had a violent episode and we came in for an emergency visit. I came into the session with my husband as I had his medications written down and questions. He would listen to nothing we had to say or were concerned about. I called him the day prior crying because my husband had gotten so bad and it was because of the medication Etchie refuses to alter nor did he listen to the fact that there is a shortage and my husbands meds were UNAVAILABLE FOR COUNTIES. I was asking questions at pauses. If there was any injections my husband can get to get his medication into his system. I asked if he could raise the dose of his medication WHICH HE COULD BUT WOULD NOT. At this point, he starts to raise his voice and tell me, "Stop stop stop you are just trying to take shortcuts he just needs to take his medication" I said I was scared and started crying, and what does he do? Starts laughing in my face. Then he refused to prescribe anything and said he no longer will see us as patients, leaving my family with nothing in a desperate time of need.

He denied me of my civil rights, while I was under his care. He was very dismissive and did not review my patient history, and tried to manipulate me into taking medications that were meant for people who have Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder. This physician denied me of a hearing and a patient advocate and tried to usurp the law and force me to remain in his in-patient facility, solely to collect money from my insurance company. Dr. Samuel Etchie is a danger to society and should be classified as a public health risk for his human rights violations. He needs to be investigated by the medical board and have his license revoked and the Alvarado Parkway Institute needs to be reported to the department of health. These patients are in horrific living conditions and are pumped full of drugs that are harming their physical health. Not too far from the way asylum’s in the early 1900’s used to treat their patients by tying them up and using straight jackets. I am very scared that this physician is able to treat patients with essentially absolute power over patients, with a callus attitude and seemed to be very punitive towards patients.

No wonder he was the only doctor I could get with my crappy insurance.

Curing me of my psychosis, I feel more improvement, he's very insightful and gives good advice, the medicine I've been taking has also helped me a lot
