Amazing!!!! I was skeptical at first about going to a lactation consultant. I was worried that they would judge me for using a binky or not wanting to pump or wanting to supplement with formula but that was not the case. They’re so respectful and kind. I felt taken care of every step of the way, and they helped me successfully reach my goals in a way that respected my preferences. they answered each message promptly and got me appointments when I needed them. The office is very clean and comfy. The environment felt very welcoming and relaxing for me and my baby. Would recommend to ever with questions or concerns big or small! The monthly newsletter gives great info and they have a support group.
I can't say enough great things about the SD breastfeeding center. I sought their help 3 years ago when my son had bad oral ties, and they put me on the path to exclusively breastfeeding in 4-5 weeks. This year I got pregnant with my 2nd, so I booked a prenatal appointment to prep for a pumping/feeding plan in the case my daughter had ties as well. I made an appointment with Vicky, who is just the sweetest and most supportive person. She listened to my feeding goals and my entire birth story with my son. She developed a very clear plan to follow in the hospital if my daughter had ties, which sure enough she did and couldn't transfer any milk in her first 2-3 days. Because of Vicky I felt confident to advocate for myself and began supplementing/pumping right away, and knew to get hospital LC support from day 1. Vicky made 3 home visits where she was able to identify a posterior tongue tie and provide me with resources to get the procedure done asap. She worked with me and my husband on stretches, pumping schedules, bottle pacing, nursing positions, engorgement, you name it she was there either in person or via email. I followed her advice and was exclusively breastfeeding my daughter by 2 weeks later. I thought it was going to be a longer road to breastfeeding and can't believe we made it here in only 2 weeks! Vicky is a wealth of knowledge and responds so quickly to issues, which is crucial in those first weeks when establishing milk and latch are so important. I would recommend Vicky and SD breastfeeding center to anyone.
I had no idea how much I needed a lactation consultant until I found Robin. She has been my go to for so much more than just lactation. She has helped me with mine and my babies diet/nutrition, latching, figuring out the right bottle and nipple to prevent more gas in my baby, pumping, timing everything correctly, understanding what kind of baby poop is healthy versus showing inflammation and so much more! She is easy going, tailors her suggestions to my lifestyle and helped me feel so empowered in this new phase of motherhood. I could not recommend her enough. Also the office is clean, feels private enough for me to breast feed in peace and tons of accessible parking in the back.

I had such a pleasant experience with Ashley Tehrani at the San Diego Breastfeeding Center. I started my visits when my baby was just a week and a half old. I was so lost and no one every told me breastfeeding would be hard. Ashley was welcoming, knowledgeable, and understanding of the issues I was facing and provided valuable feedback and guidance. After just a few visits with her I gained confidence with breastfeeding and it truly improved my quality of life postpartum knowing that I was doing my best to nourish my baby. I would 100 times recommend visiting SDBC regardless of where you are on your breastfeeding journey! Especially with Ashley, she is a charm.
Aisha literally saved my breastfeeding journey. I have worked with 5 different lactation consultants since giving birth (majority while in the hospital) and Aisha is BY FAR the most compassionate and knowledgeable. She has been one of the most supportive people in my postpartum journey and I couldn't recommend her and SDBFC enough. Also, the SDBFC office in La Mesa is super cozy and inviting!
Everytime I saw Aisha, my worries and anxieties are lifted. I felt truly supported, and because of the safe and warm environment she created for me and my baby, I was able to gradually build confidence around breastfeeding. As a new parent, I tried everything under the sun to help with breastfeeding. But still, there was pain and regular milk bleb, leaving me in pain and poor mental health. Aisha identified that my baby had a tongue and lip tie, and gave use exercises to do and a recommendation for a pediatric dentist. Eventually, my baby got a frenectomy. Since then, she's been able to nurse without a problem. I should mention that I had appointments with Aisha at my home, virtually, and at her office. I liked all experiences but I'd say in-person at her office was the easiest because she had all the equipments there. highly recommend SDBC and Aisha!
I'd highly recommend the SDBFC, and Ashley specifically, to anyone needing lactation support! As a second time nursing mom, I knew I needed help very early on with my newborn. Ashley was extremely knowledgeable and was able to cover so much in each visit from improving latch, to tips for pumping, to recommending other amazing providers to help with my baby's issues. The follow up support was also incredible! I felt like Ashley really cared about me and my baby and I know I'll continue to get amazing support if I have need of it again!
I cannot thank Robin and SDBFC enough; my year-long breastfeeding journey with my second child would have been nonexistent had it not been for Robin and her team. I nursed my first for 14 months, so I expected my second nursing journey to be smooth since I was “experienced.” However, we faced a plethora of challenges: oral ties + releases, tension, torticollis and related asymmetries, triple-feeding, oversupply, SNS, nipple shields, and nursing strikes. We struggled a lot, particularly in the beginning, and there were several times I was ready to give up. But, Robin was with us every step of the way, whole-heartedly supporting us, caring for us, and embracing us. She was very attentive and would respond to any questions I had quickly. The entire year we were with SDBFC was very collaborative and free of judgment. I would absolutely recommend SDBFC to any moms who are struggling with their breastfeeding journey. You will be welcomed with open arms and cared for like family.
I can't say enough good things about Aisha and the San Diego Breastfeeding Center! After a challenging birth, my son was born with both a lip and a tongue tie, which made breastfeeding quite difficult. On top of that, I was struggling to produce enough milk for him. From the moment we started working with Aisha, I felt supported and understood. She is incredibly nonjudgmental and truly dedicated to helping mothers like me optimize their breastfeeding experience. Unlike some friends who have had negative experiences and felt shamed for not exclusively breastfeeding, Aisha made me feel empowered and confident in the decisions we were making for our son's feeding. Her kindness and expertise made such a positive impact on our journey. I'm so grateful for the support we received at the San Diego Breastfeeding Center, and I would highly recommend it to any new mother facing similar challenges. Thank you, Aisha, for everything!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
