List of Mark Scheier's Reviews
Dr. Scheier is a qualified doctor, straight forward, knowledgeable and indeed I recommend his expertise to anyone in search of a doctor in our around La Palma, Buena Park, Cypress, Cerritos, etc. He helped me manage my daily pain caused by this stupid Chiari Malformation I am stuck with. Oh, yay. Go see Dr. Scheire if he is accepting new patients!
We have had Dr. Scheier as our Pediatrician our Family Dr., our emergency doctor, our our Gyno and Primary care doctor and our most respected confidante since 1989! Dr. Mark Scheier has been a dedicated professional who not only holds his patients health as a primary regard but who holds his own standards for integrity professional conduct and good old fashioned real family doctor who will himself, contact you if he is concerned about your illness. Dr Scheier is very thorough giving each patient his undivided attention, he makes eye contact and really listens. If he determines you are in need of aggressive medical intervention lab work x-rays or the Emergency Room for immediate medical attention he doesn`t wait until your follow up appt or prescribe tons of medicines and tests you dont need just to soak your insurance company. He never hesitates to share his concerns He is very honest and listens which is a rare quality from any doctor. If he is worried about you he has been known to call you to see how you are feeling. We called his office emergency number after hours when our baby who he had been treating became even sicker. He called us back, he was at the Superbowl, he gave us instructions that were the same, I started to cry said thank you and we said goodbye. He called me back within 10 minutes with specific new instructions and a new medication his intuitions told him something wasnt right. 6 kids later and I am crying, he knew how bad off she was, called me back DURING THE SUPERBOWL HE WAS ATTENDING!!! Our kids now from 36 to 17 love him and love Monica and say Monica the office support beam my kids say looks exactly as beautiful and young as they remember her back when they were babies. She is very classy and professional soft spoken and looks like a movie star. Lisa is a beautiful bright eyed big smiling happy sweet funny real mom and a very thorough nurse gathering vitals and reason for visit as well as a memory like a computer, remembers your last conversations very friendly and compassionate professional. Jason is the computer records and insurance guy and is very very sweet and professional, teases everyone and makes the waiting room laugh. well the entire staff Dr Scheier we love them all. We have treasured Dr Scheiers calm wisdom, his listening to you, looking at you while you are talking and he is speaking to you, he is very soothing to someone nervous, he speaks softly and is very sensitive and perceptive. Fantastic sense of humor, if your teen has a cut and they ask if it needs stiches he will most likely say oh no how terrible this might call for drastic measures how attached are you to your finger, it might be ready to fall off , lets see, he may pick up that finger to reinspect while saying well i guess u must be pretty attached its not fallen off yet. Compassionate professional thorough great eye contact superb listening skills and communication skills. Very soothing great dry wit highly skilled professional office staff and everyone remembers your name and face. Like family. We even drive out of our area and changed insurance just to keep Dr as our primary care guy and office.
After reading everyone's reviews after being a patient for him for 10 plus years I find it to be hilarious because even though he fits in some of those categories. The doctor's personality is definitely acquired an eclectic. That's what makes him amazing. He knows his business he's very in tuned with being a wonderful doctor if you expect the average Joe,don't come to this doctor.
Amazing, thank you all!
His nurse is the rudest nastiest thing that ever walked this Earth. When I called just now I told her I can never get ahold of you guys and she got very moody very nasty and said I don't know their hours. I said excuse me I've been going to this doctor for a few years I know his hours. If this doctor keeps this nurse shes going to probably run every patient out of there. I will find out her name and post it at a later date.
Dr.Mark Scheier, Has been my family Doctor for over 15yrs I have Asthma bad, He is also my Family Members Doctor. When my Dad had Brain Cancer, I talked to Dr.Scheier about his Options. He listened and made great Recommendations. Everytime I have been In the hospital he was Faithful coming And sending the right Specialist.
The Dr. is very moody. Sometimes, he's in a good mood and happy to listen, but usually he won't make eye contact and stares at a computer screen as you explain why you came to see him. Office staff is hard to talk to, especially because there seems to be a significant disconnect in communication between Dr. Scheier and his staff. The staff will tell you that they'll do things or the Dr. will, but there's never any follow-through and they all get very angry when you're forced to follow up with them yourself to find out what's going on.
Dear Mark Scheier, today you hung up on me and my insurance company via our 3 way phone call. We were trying to get the proper "codes" corrected so that i may see my Orthopedic Specialist.Today i went in for my scheduled appointment, with my Ortho Specialist, and the first thing they tell me is: "Your Doctor didn't submit the proper codes for your visit today, you need to have him fix it." So i call you, and you throw a temper tantrum about it, yell and hang up; you then call me back once you have calmed yourself down, and i merged you into the conversation I was currently holding with my insurance company, then you have another childish fit, and hang up again; this time on the insurance company Representative, whom we are speaking with.*Sigh* Mark, i am very concerned about your mental state, and the welfare of my own health in your hands and the others who are under your care. If you need help, please visit your nearest emergency room if you are experiencing a flare up. I'm not even concerned that you purposely hung up twice, I'm worried about your mental health. Mark.. Crisis Emergency:(877) 7-CRISIS or (877) 727-4747Sincerely,Mia Ziegler & REP
My experience has only been positive with Dr. Scheier and his staff. He has been my doctor for over 2 years. He takes time to listen and ask questions. I love his staff. Always friendly and helpful. I'm surprised at any negative reviews. I have only positive comments to share!
Went for the first time after visiting once four years ago. The building and his office are both old and dirty. The receptionist and a nurse were arguing for about 10 minutes, with the dr standing right there! Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. They didn't give me any paperwork to complete asking about my medical history. The receptionist was playing games on his phone while there were tons of papers on the desk that I'm guessing need to be put in patient files. I forgot why I stopped going four years ago. Hopefully I'll remember from now on. Don't want to make that mistake again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
