Shawn Allen's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Shawn Allen is very thorough and kind, however she is never available. You often have to see her assistant, who is very rude and mean, specially to my elderly parent. This has actually inspired me to become an advocate for the elderly who are treated poorly.

Dr. Allen is a great Doctor if you ever actually get an appointment to see her. Unfortunately she is rarely available, so you get in with her PA, who has a rude demeanor and is very abrupt. Due to the treatment my elderly parent has received there, I am becoming an advocate for the eldery who are not treated very kindly.It's unfortunate that things are so overwhelming that you can't get an appointment for months, even if you need one for very serious problems, and then always having to see someone else, not the Doctor. I'd be shocked if they haven't received quite a few complaints regarding this, especially since the assistant or PA is not very kind.The nurses and Desert Oasis are great though, they have been very nice and have helped make up for the rude encounters.

Christopher Baker, PA, is superior! He is knowledgeable, accurate in diagnosis and has kind mannerism. He was VERY generous with his time answering all my questions and throughly reviewing labs. He cares about his patients!

I see Christopher Baker, PA in this office. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough in both his exams and his explanations. He addresses any concerns I may have and answers my questions in plain language. The nurses are exceptional as are the front desk personnel. Been going there for decades, first seeing Dr. Lin, then Chris. Very satisfied.

The doctor was very incompassionate In kinda almost a robotic like way. The facility is newer so it was clean and well kept and the office clerk was very nice as was the nurse and that's why I gave it 3star but we'll see if the doctor knows his stuff when I go back in 2 weeks and then I'll update my review

Dr Allen is Horrible. Period.

Dr Allen listens well and explains things thoroughly. I am very comfortable talking with her about my health and well being. I know she cares about me as a patient.

I would like to take this time to say how caring and knowledgeable and concerned about me not only as a patient but as a person. Dr. Allen and Christopher Baker P.A. have always given me as much time as l needed to feel well taken care of by spending as much time with me and providing intelligent and emotional support in my health issues and concerns. Their staff is always kind and eager to help me with all questions and appointment needs. I would never consider placing my trust and confidence in another Doctor or P.A. l always know that should l need any help or personal attention this Family Practice would take care of me. I would refer this practice to all family and friends.

Very disappointing. I had been a patient of Dr. Lin who shared the office with Dr. Allen for many years prior to moving full time to JFK. I had contacted Dr. Allen's office several years ago and was told to contact my insurance provider to select Dr. Allen as my primary. I did that and confirmed with Dr. Allen's office a short time time after. The office also confirmed that I was now a patient of Dr. Allen. Having been in good health the past few years I did not have a need to see Dr. Allen. Today, I contacted the office to make an appointment for a routine physical and was advised that I would be classified as a new patient and Dr. Allen wasn't accepting new patients. Is there a connection that I am HMO and not PPO? Yes. Unethical. Very sad and disappointing. Very unprofessional.
