Angela is the most amazing healer! She has cured me of many ailments from shin splints, bursitis to pinches tendons, where there is a visible injury and pain and has worked her magic. I remember when I was diagnosed with bursitis, it came on instantly, I could barely walk and went to the Dr. They put me on crutches which was helpful but not feasible having to commute. I called Angela, she needled me and no lie, I was able to walk without the crutches. She listens and cares. I've recommended Angela to many friends and will always recommend her to anyone! Even if you don't have a specific ailment, acupuncture is amazing for relaxation and a reset. You won't be sorry!

Angela is nothing short of AMAZING! I originally found Angela due to her five star reviews on yelp. I had a frozen shoulder made ten times worse by a cortisone shot by an orthopedic surgeon and a very bad neck due to numerous nasty car accidents. After years of suffering and medical doctors telling me there was really no hope for my neck and giving up golf due to my bad shoulder a friend suggested I try acupuncture. Never would I have imagined the difference Angela would make in my health. Angela has changed my life. Even my doctors have asked what the secret is to my new found mobility in my neck and shoulder and told me to "continue doing whatever it is you're doing!" We moved to the East Bay three years ago but I have continued to drive to San Mateo just to see Angela as SHE IS THAT GOOD! I am thrilled that she is now in Lafayette...I sincerely feel like I just won the lottery!

Dr. Mimi crosses the eastern and western medicine boundaries in the most helpful way. After a year of suffering from long COVID with no answers, Dr. Mimi essentially healed me. I still see as needed and she’s insightful, kind and wonderful.

When I went here I was in so much pain that I could barely walk. After the treatment I am able to move much, much better. I am looking forward to my next treatment.

Mimi has helped my mom and I over the years with our healing. Why we love Mimi: She fixes problems in elegant non invasive ways when the situation calls for it (with acupuncture/herbs/or energy work combo) and is super caring, kind, and smart a) She has helped me avoid an elective eyelid surgery (got a bump/cyst to go away with herbs, acupuncture, and energy work) and b) avoid a cervical cone biopsy (took supplements she prescribed/in combination with acupuncture. After, Pap smears came back normal so no surgery needed) This past month, she helped my mom with c) hemorrhoids. Her conventional doctor (not Mimi) had prescribed suppositories. This helped temporarily, but the bleeding came back. So, we changed her diet (more fiber), her habits (more moving, less sitting), Mimi suggested a 'donut' style pillow to sit on, and did acupuncture. My mom said after she came home after Mimi's acupuncture treatment (sorry if too much info: hemorrhoids shrank from grape size to blueberry size/raisin size!). I asked how she knew- did she look/measure? She said she could tell by feel/squeezing her butt, that it was more comfortable/less swollen. The most important thing- the bleeding stopped. Suppositories are no longer needed, and her hemorrhoids are better/non symptomatic. We deeply appreciate Mimi's exceptional care and expertise.

This review is long overdue. I've been seeing Dr. Mimi Cortez for a couple of years now for several conditions I've been struggling to manage and she has become an entrusted doctor, practitioner, and dear friend. Dr. Mimi is a truly gifted intuitive healer who has helped me immeasurably. I've benefited so much from my work with her that I've felt assured in my referring many others to her. I had previously tried acupuncture (about 15 years ago) and after several months, had given up hope and believed that the modality wasn't for me. I'm beyond grateful that my cousin convincingly suggested I reach out to Dr. Mimi; she has positively impacted my health in so many ways (due to the private nature of my conditions, I regret I can't be more specific). Dr. Mimi is incredibly warm, skilled, compassionate, and is generous with her time. During appointments, she intently listens - she's present and available, never rushing. She genuinely cares about her patients. Dr. Mimi is a wonderful professional who continually strives to be/do better in her practice; she also happens to be a beautiful soul, anyone would be lucky to meet.

Dr. Mimi is amazing! She is well versed in all aspects of Acupuncture! I have been struggling lately with an IT band issue and she has been able to really make a difference! They use the latest technology and she really listens to your concerns. You will be happy you decided to go!
