He was absolutely awful with me when he was the dr on call to deliver my baby. One of the worst experiences of my life.

With a high-risk pregnancy at 44 years old with a history of extremely preterm delivery, Dr. James put my deep-seated fears (and PTSD frankly) at ease. He is a very skilled doctor/surgeon who has a sense is humor and great support staff. He is accessible by text and highly responsive. He agreed to deliver my youngest on a Sat and made my c-section feel like a breeze. He is loved by staff, respected by other medical professionals, and is just a wonderfully kind human being. I could not recommend Dr. James more.

Dr. James is just the best. Last year I gave birth to my youngest under Dr. James' car. 44 years old with a complicated medical history, my pregnancy was easily categorized as high risk. Dr. James placated my concerns and put me at ease. He is accessible by text, super responsive, and is supported by a great staff (shout out to Chantel!). Dr. James even agreed to deliver my son on Sat and made my c-section experience enjoyable (believe it or not). We were listening to music and joking in the OR - it was a much breezier experience than I anticipated! Our whole family loves Dr. James and I guarantee that yours will too. Just the best OBGYN ever.

Such a great person! He's funny, caring and makes the most uncomfortable situations okay. Couldn't recommend a better OB/GYN

Its almost 8 years that I am Dr. James' patient.He is just amazing. Very Knowledgeable and quite a good listener and advisor. Every single visit has been amazing. I absolutely recommend him to whoever seeks the ultimate care.Dr James! Thank you

I highly recommend Dr. James and the midwives at OCWMG! I saw Dr. James for the majority of my pregnancy and felt that I was in very competent, qualified hands. I was able to be seen next-day a couple of times when I felt concerned and both times when I called late at night I was immediately able to talk with a physician, all of which gave me so much peace of mind. I ultimately began to see the midwives later in my pregnancy at Dr. James' suggestion based on some of my birth preferences, and delivered with Mallory Munroe, and had an incredible experience! I was a little apprehensive to not deliver with Dr. James because I already felt very comfortable and confident in him, and I'm sure he would have been excellent as well, but I was SO impressed with the care we received with Mallory. She was supportive, nonjudgmental, and made me feel empowered with choice through every decision along the way. I'm so happy she was there and helped me to have such a beautiful, redemptive birth experience!

Dr. James is the GOAT. He's not my OB but he was the on call doctor at the hospital when I was admitted to the hospital. His beside manner is great, he's got a good head on his shoulders, a great sense of humor, and is a highly skilled doctor. I could not have asked for a better L&D experience. If you are borderline high risk, or an expecting mother of color, you will especially be in good hands.

This is more a review for his practice. I delivered my first child with Dr. James and the midwives at Mission 2 years ago. He since joined with OCWMG & new midwives. When I called scheduling I never actually spoke with a human and didn’t receive a call back. It took almost a month to finally get a call from a midwife who was able to answer some of my questions. After the ultrasound which was only available at one location, we waited over 45 minutes to see the midwife. The ultrasound tech would not let me take video for my daughter. With covid restrictions this is ridiculous.During my appt front desk personnel came in demanding I pay an absurd amount for my overall pregnancy—I told her I might not continue with them and she said to pay half. I did not. Lastly when I received my claim I saw the midwife checked me for drugs? I find that odd & frankly insulting. I now have to pay for the test since it’s not covered as prenatal care. While I find Dr James thorough —I did not care for OCWMG.

Dr. James is a Godsend! Met him 4 plus years ago in the ER and he's been my OB ever since! Unlike the doc on call who wanted to give me an emergency D&C ... Dr. James was rational and encouraged me to give it a little time before making the decision. It turned out to not be necessary and am so thankful we listened to Dr. James. As an OB he's super supportive of women's overall health and well being ... addressing mental and emotional health as well which is so needed - especially during these times! My husband and I struggled with fertility after multiple miscarriages and trying for our second ... he has amazing bedside manner and was always very encouraging even when we felt hopeless. When we started the adoption process - he was the doc we went to for the physical recommendation / sign off part and he graciously did that for us at no charge. Who does that?! So in addition to being a thorough and fabulous OB, he is an incredible human who makes the planet better by being a part of it! Highly recommend Dr. James if you are looking for someone to be an advocate with you for your women's health and wellness. PS - We ended up getting pregnant the month after our adoption profile went live and he was genuinely happy for us and extremely supportive of the decisions we made for our birth plan and baby blessing #2.

I love Dr. James!!!! Only wish I found him sooner because my deliveries with my prior OBGYN were pretty awful. I've been a patient for the last 5 years and I highly recommend him. He's a gentleman and I never feel rushed during an exam. He has an amazing staff as well.
