April 14 and I went online (as recommended by the phone message) to schedule an appointment for a new concern ( I had already talked to an insurance-provided 24/7 nurse and was told to contact my primary care provider. ) The earliest available appointment for a new concern was AUGUST! So back to the phone, and yes I can see another doctor, in another town, in three weeks, or a nurse practitioner in my town in a week. My one experience with a doctor two years ago, was positive, but haven't seen her since. Nurse practitioner has become my "doctor" for all practical purposes and thankfully she is good. But basically if you need to see a doctor/NP soon, I guess you have to go to urgent care.... which may be the intent. My experience with Hoag is pretty limited, but seems like they are seriously understaffed. To be clear, I have no serious problems with the people I have encountered, but with Hoag as a provider.

Amazing team! Went in for a referral today and Dr. Symanski was extremely resourceful, informative and wellspoken. The office team was extremely polite (even though i was late:).

The office and nursing staff is friendly and efficient. I've been there several times and haven't had to wait for more than a few minutes to be called back to start my appointment . It's a convenient location and a nice facility. I also really like my doctor there, Dr. Szymanski, great guy that is over seeing the big picture of my healthcare with an eye for preventative medicine.

Mary Jean O'Connor is everything you would expect an aging nun who went into healthcare to be. She left me waiting at one appointment for 40 minutes; so long that I had to send front office staff to find her. She ordered unnecessary tests that even Dr. Panitch does not approve of. She gave me advice that ran counter to that of the doctor. Dr. Panitch is wonderful but MJOC reps the darker side of corporate Catholic healthcare, and I dislike Hoag's money-grubbing, impersonal policies (you must be in the clinic within 5 minutes of your appointment time, no exceptions for unforeseen delays; Hoag doctors will refer only within the Hoag network; and so forth).l will be taking my business elsewhere.

Absolutely the best physicians, nurses and office staff ever!! They take the time to make you feel like you really matter. They are always welcoming and warm Dr Jill Panitch is a unique physician...professional, supportive and caring. She listens to any issue thoroughly , and her expertise allows you to know you are in the best hands. Laguna Beach is so lucky to have a stellar medical facility conveniently located right down town.
