Laguna Family Health Center's Online Review Report Card

I got stuck in traffic due to an accident on my way to an appointment. I called prior to my appointment time telling them I was stuck and was going to be late. Deena told me not to come if I was going to be late. NOW THEY ARE CHARGING ME $190 NO SHOW FEE?! Are you kidding me. I am a 22 year old, with anxiety, ocd, and ptsd and they're charging me almost $200 for a no show when I asked Deena if I could come late and she said "no." Giving me no choice. Bullshit.

One of the BEST whole Mental Health Centers in O.C. Starting with the lovely receptionist Deena that couldn't be more kind and / or accommodating to the incredible care of NP Holly Viloria  , figured out the best medical game plan to help me through an atrocity without having to start addictive meds yet effective treatment and supplements, a whole -life plan . Then there is Dara Cortez - Unbelievable! She is a God Send ! Dara can help design a plan for coping through the roughest of times, help you keep your focus with simple tools while getting your life back on track or starting over. I have had an unusual amount of unforeseen trauma , and without this group I can't imagine I would have kept on track day to day. They are excellent at what they do as well as extremely caring. I can assure you this is a real review !

Dr Viloria is amazing, I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. DeSilva spent a lot of time with us, getting to know my son. She even got my son to really open up, which he hasn't done with other doctors we've tried. We didn't feel rushed, and we were able to spend time discussing what his issues are. We felt truly listened to and very comfortable discussing difficult things with Dr. DeSilva. She's definitely going to be our son's permanent psychiatrist as long as she's practicing!

I credit Holly and her practice for saving my daughter. Holly is better then almost every physician I've ever met. I was hesitant to see a nurse practitioner because I didn't think it would be as good as seeing a doctor but I was wrong. She knows more than any psychiatrist I've ever met and you can tell she stays on top of her stuff. She handled my millions of questions without getting angry or defensive like many do. I appreciate that she was open to working with me and helping me feel more comfortable with my daughter's care.  She goes above and beyond and I know I can always reach out to her if needed, no matter when, she is a lifesaver and I have my daughter back thanks to her.

I recently left a review about Jill. Holly has got back to me about this problem promptly, she wants to get this figured out. Thank you Holly.

I went to see Jill for the first 20 minutes we talked about baking cupcakes with her daughter showed pictures around complete waste of time when we should have been talking about why we were there. I filled out the form do not discuss with anyone and filled out the HIPPA form when I got there before session started, I sent Jill an E-mail about how disappointed I was about the waste of time in the session talking about cupcakes that I was going to call my insurance to get a refund and then she preceded to show my E-mail to my son-in-law which made my situation worse, one of the reasons I was there to see her in the first place. So my advice if you don't want your personal info discussed don't go to them. I talked to Holly a week ago about this, she said she would discuss with Jill and A week later I have not heard back.

My overall experience with Laguna Psych has been a very positive one. I came in a stinky alcoholic who was shivering and sick, and who had a history of abuse throughout childhood along with some other traumatic events. Holly spent about an hour with me, it was enough time to do an intake and for me to get something off my chest that I had held onto forever, it was one of those secrets some people have that you intend to die with. Her reaction was very supportive and she listened and made me feel as though she did in fact care about my well being.Holly has never over prescribed the few medications that I have taken, in fact she wouldn't prescribe a stimulant based medication that I asked about because of my history, all my dosages have been minimal, using the least possible necessary to have the desired effect. Financing this has been aided by the option of using a sliding scale in some cases, and because she is open to email from clients I have been able to update her as to my condition and any side effects that I might experience. Some practitioners would have you make an appointment and pay the full price to relay that information that I am able to do via an email and that is very convenient.If you are reading this and are an addict or alcoholic you should consider working with Alia, she really understands addiction. You know how you can explain what it's like to be addicted to something and how we tend to live, and how a lot of people who aren't addicts clearly don't understand (even therapists), and how it seems like only a fellow addict/alcoholic can  understand what you are saying ?? OK well Alia actually gets it and I have always felt like that was an extra special quality about her that really helped me to work on my addiction. There is so much that we have worked on in therapy that has been essentially settled, it's no longer a presence in my mind that is causing harm. Therapy with Alia has been one of the most important things I've ever done in my life, and I highly recommend her.In closing, to those who felt they didn't like their experience at Laguna Psych, I didn't relate to anything that I read in those reviews, it has not been my experience. I do wish those people the best and hope they find whatever it is they need to experience the positive changes in their lives they seek. For me the therapy provided by Laguna Psych has done much to improve the quality of my life. I had a lot of doubt in the abilities of such a facility, I questioned the practicality of therapy, and I was an individual who was likely very close to the end of his life. To write this review now knowing what I have gained, to be able to see the stark contrast that is my past and present, it's a welcome relief. I wish the same for you or a loved one who is seeking treatment, and I encourage you to give Laguna Psych a shot.
