List of Av Family Medicine & Urgent Care's Reviews
My first visit today,as a walk in, went without a hitch. I arrived as they opened at 8 am. The receptionist was pleasant and efficient. I saw the doctor within minutes of being shown to the consulting/examination room. The doctor is personable and direct. No fuss no muss. His diagnosis of my wrist issue was correct and his suggestions for treatment were spot on. I would go back in a heart beat.
RUDE! I was told to go here from my Memorial Care app. I wanted to get a rapid Covid test since I am not feeling well. They opened 10 minutes late and when the rude nurse came out she told me they can't help and gave us a paper for other locations. She then wiped the door and shut it on me. They don't want sick people at an urgent care?? DO NOT GO THERE!
Annoying having to wait in the car in 90 degree temperatures because the rooms were full. They said they would call me when they were ready to let us in, and do the Covid check. They call our emergency contact instead. 10 more minutes outside. I knock on the door, no one answered, then I BANGED once on the door and the Doctor himself came out. The nurse apologized about having an influx of so many calls towards the end of the day. They seem really unorganized at the front desk. The tall nurse was friendly and funny. Dr. Leung is a good doctor. He is patient and personable, with a good bedside manner. My only complaint is I came in with my son, who is an older teen, but he is still a minor. The doctor did not address me as his mother as to what was needed for his ailment, and what the ailment was, but only to curtly remind me my mask was slipping off of my nose, then quickly addressed my son again. I did not like that.
I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, but my experience with Dr. Leung was so great, I just felt compelled to jump on here and comment. For starters, I'm in between doctors right now on my insurance plan. I had been experiencing some health issues and was trying to be patient while my PCP change was being processed. But, everyday I just grew more uncomfortable with what I was feeling, I couldn't take it anymore. I called around to various doctors on my insurance plan, but they all refused to see me unless I went through my insurance first (which I was already in the process of doing). So I just decided to schedule an appointment with someone not on my insurance plan. The receptionist was friendly, and notified me right away that my consultation wouldn't be covered by my insurance, which I didn't mind, but just appreciated that she took the time to tell me.I went in for my appointment, met with Dr. Leung, and explained to him what I was feeling. He was incredibly kind and attentive. He asked me various questions on my symptoms and was thorough in his explanation of what was going on. Additionally, he was very patient and understanding, really taking the time to listen to what I was experiencing. After he diagnosed my symptoms and gave me some recommendations to treat my health issues, he took the time to get to know me, asking me about school and what I was studying to do.I would definitely recommend visiting Dr. Leung! His kindness alone will make your day.
I went in for a general health check up in April. They sent me to quest for tests. Then.. nothing. No emails, no calls, no lab results, no follow up.Fast forward in August i call to know what's going on, the office give me the worst excuse "the doctor is busy". Really? Is that an excuse? And the best thing in all that is that she looks at my lab results and comment on my high cholesterol numbers, but the doctor will follow up with me. Really? You are throwing this information at me and telling me that i now have to wait for a feedback if the doctor finds the time this week? 1 week later , still no call. I call back, it's a different person on the phone, who this time at least apologises and assures me I'll get a call back . She doesn't try to give excuses, she apologises, so at least it's not that other person. I do get a call back from the doctor a couple of days later and he tells me the lab results are good and that the cholesterol is not an issue. I wish i had taken the name of that lady in the office. Can't believe she allows herself to give comments on patients lab results. I don't recommend this doctor. They clearly don't have the time to care. The doctor clearly didn't care that he only followed up months after my visit.
Worst experience I have ever had with a healthcare professional! Avoid!! After waiting in the waiting room for an hour past my appointment time the doctor took forever to come to the exam room. Once he arrived he had no idea why I was there and was rude and condescending. Of course the sent me an invoice immediately (within days of my exam) even though they still haven't bothered to call me with my medical test results, which they should have had more then two months ago. Additionally, they didn't bother to bill my insurance correctly AND they aren't sharing my test results with my new, reliable, doctor even though I have signed all appropriate paperwork. This place is a joke!!! If you value your health, sanity and time go someplace else.
I love it here! I usually come here whenever I need to get a physical but I went here today because I thought I had strep throat and it turns out I was right. Dr. Leung is very nice, personable and informative and everybody else who works there seems very nice as well. I never leave disappointed and because of that I wanted to write this review. I will continue to come here for my health care needs!
I live in Stanton and will ALWAYS make the drive to come see Dr. Leung. I've been seeing him for about 3 years now and have never had a bad experience. He is attentive, focused, informative, and his staff is friendly and have never been rude. Highly recommend to all my friends/family. My favorite doctor by far and he will continue to have my business.
I've moved quite a ways away but will make the 90 minute drive to see Dr. Leung. He is patient, consultative and listens. I have never felt rushed and always feel like he genuinely cares for my well-being. He is a fantastic doctor. I have been seeing him for over 5 years and don't see myself going anywhere else.
Highly recommended. Nice caring staff!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
