Just concluded an initial visit with Dr. Hwang moments ago! Hadn't read the 'from the owner' profile on here previously. Can enthusiastically say, the impression I was left with completely meshes with the super impressive credentials stated! Certainly the manner he employs, of what really appears to be authentic humility; is also met with excellence from everyone else involved in his staff!

The entire experience that myself as a patient, my partner Tamara, and both of my sons had with Dr Hwang during my brain procedure and stay at Mission Hospital helped us be informed and aware through the entire process …. We are blessed and grateful ….

September 29,2024 Dr. Brian Whang: Orange County Medical Center I want to personally thank you for caring and performing surgery on my wife Debbie Bolanos. As you know, she suffered a horrific horse riding accident that almost took her life. She had brain surgery and a section of her skull was removed to control the bleeding and swelling. Approximately three months later, you were assigned as our Neurosurgeon to re attach her skull and design a medical plan to aide in her recovery From our initial meeting with you gave us the impression you were a doctor who was passionate about his work and truly cared for his patients. We weren’t wrong. We admire your work ethic and expertise. You are the epitome of what all people in the medical field should be! I want to thank you for being so thorough when you discussed each step of the surgery process. You answered questions, which calmed the nerves, and the extra time you took out of your busy schedule was appreciated. Your exceptional skills made what was likely a problematic surgery go smoothly. My release from the ER included a suggested referral to Dr Hwang. His diagnosis resulted in the surgical procedure that ultimately corrected my severe, spinal and leg pain. During the course of my difficult recovery, Dr. Hwang was an unwavering source of support. I was always heartened by his availability to me and his sincere concern. I feel most fortunate that the choice recommended by the ER was perfect for me. Thank you for everything, Dr. Hwang—you are the BEST!

I rarely write reviews but read them all the time. My hope is that another family will read this review and find comfort and peace knowing they or and their family members are in the best care under Dr. Brian Hwang and his team. I am in the medical field and have access to a lot of wonderful doctors where I live but we were on vacation when my son fractured his C5 and 6 with a spinal cord damage. We feel very blessed to have crossed paths with Dr Hwang. First and foremost his knowledge and wisdom with his injury were great. His precision during surgery even if it took longer was comforting and his beside manner was like no other surgeon I have ever met. He never let us give up hope even while he had to be realistic. We are only a month out of my son’s surgery and see improvements everyday! My son continues to have the most positive attitude and I fully believe this stems from Dr Hwang setting the tone from the beginning. Dr. Hwang told us it was an honor to help my son but it was our honor to have him as a surgeon.

I was blessed to have dr.hwang as my doctor when I had my accident if it wasn't for him I would have had surgery and it would have been life changing... I thank God that he decided to not do surgery . He is one of the best doctors I have had take care of me ... definitely the best experience I have had with a doctor

I just had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Hwang this weekend in the unfortunate scenario I needed emergency back/spinal surgery at Mission Hospital Emergency Room. Dr. Hwang provides emergency support to the local hospitals in addition to his full time practice in his off time. After nearly 4 months of failed treatments and options from multiple other doctors I was finally given relief from debilitating pain. Dr. Hwang consulting me on all options, performed the surgery, made visits to the hospital to see me and follow up in person and has continued to check in on me to monitor me progress and recovery. He has been the shining light in a terrible life occurrence. I could not recommend this doctor and his team more!!
