List of Brian M. Koperek's Reviews
I get UTIs about once every 18 months or so. This is in my patient chart. They are exceedingly painful and come on very suddenly. I have been Dr. Koperek's patient for about 6-7 years. My last annual was in 2020 and due to covid have not been in this year yet. I had a UTI attack while I was on a business trip and I started calling the office at 6 a.m. - gave the same information repeatedly (about 5 times) only to finally receive a call at noon stating that because I hadn't been in, the doctor would not call in a prescription. Writhing in pain, I am now forced to get to an urgent care for something that could have been well underway by now. The office staff were inconsiderate and not at all sympathetic. Not even empathetic. It's worthwhile to note that I am not on any other meds nor do I have any chronic conditions. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE.
I have never been in the same room with this Dr. Brian Koperek MD. Never had an appointment in my life with this Dr. Koperek. However, I received a letter from my insurance provider informing me that Dr. Brian Koperek had requested a procedure for me, a PR BX OF Breast, Needle Core Image Guide in Newport Beach. The letter was to inform me that the procedure was approved and to make an appointment. I was immediately alarmed. I was thinking, is somebody else using my information and health care information? Or I got some other lady’s approval? But it had all my health information. But I never seen this Dr. I had to google his name and found out he works at Orange Coast Women’s Medical Group. This stopped and ruined my evening and I had to wait for the next morning to call and get some clarity. I had to make calls to my insurance carrier and Orange Coast Women’s Medical Group to get some clarity. I did! It turned out to be a mistake. Nonetheless it scared me to think this was requested and approved for me. I hope my information doesn’t get mixed up with someone else’s. I had to share this since it made me pause my day and made me worry about my health information but also that some lady didn’t get their approval since I got it. Idk. I hope they’re more careful in the future.
I am going to agree with other patients' reviews to AVOID Dr. Koperek!!! I was in my late 20s and found out I had 8 fibroids so I took the first appointment available at OC Women's Medical Group. The first thing he started talking to me about was that most women who have this many fibroids consider hysterectomies without even talking about alternatives or if I even wanted children!!!! I was bawling in tears after that appointment until I got 4-5 other opinions and NOBODY agreed with him. I am now 32 and pregnant with my first child and so happy I was able to move on with wayyyyy more competent doctors. Save yourself from the emotional turmoil!!!!!!
Highly skilled at what he does. Calm demeanor.
Amazing! Had to do an unexpected C-section and he made me feel so comfortable with an unpredictable situation. And did an amazing job on my incision, hardly noticeable. Highly reccomend Dr. Koperek.
I never write reviews, but i feel it's my duty to let everyone know about Dr. Koperek. I had a very bad experience with Dr. Koperek in 2016. He performed my Hysterectomy, and transected by right ureter. It was discovered 11 days later in the ER. I told him about my pain and issues several times (in his office and over the phone) and he brushed me off! I had multiple surgeries after his error, and spent a total of 23 days in the hospital. It took me close to a year to fully recover.
I was 34 and pregnant with 2nd child. Noticed in my second trimester, i was having a hard time walking and breathing. Fast forward to last trimester and I am extremely fatigued and gaining a lot of weight even though i am not eating excessive amounts. Told Koperek and he said “you are no spring chicken”. I asked for help. Told no, gave birth at 40 weeks without Koperek and three days later I collapsed with CHF and was in ICU two week, almost died. He ignored my pleas and ignored the signs. Sad!
He ignored the signs of CHF and I almost died three days after the birth of My daughter. He was careless and even mentioned my age by saying I was no spring chicken, when i asked for help as i was having problems breathing and swelling was getting out of control. Did not deliver my daughter or even tried to. The swelling in my body days before the birth was over 40lbs. He ignored all the signs He saw me in ICU when my heart was failing and stayed by the doorway and said he was sorry and left. I am left with a bad heart valve after the Postpartum Conjestive Heart Failure. I am forever on medication and have lung damage from the extreme amount of fluid that filled my lungs . Don’t trust him if you are an older mom. 34 durning pregnancy and 35 at the time of my daughters birth.
Dr. Koeperek is an amazing healthcare provider. He is kind and patient and I am so glad I had him deliver my baby. Highly recommended!
AVOID! Koperek "treated" my elderly mother who has dementia. He misdiagnosed her twice. Her vaginal pain was so bad that she was crying and hyperventilating. It took SEVEN calls and TWO FULL DAYS for Koperek to return our calls. We were literally BEGGING for pain relief, and this heartless jerk wouldn't even return our calls! A V O I D ! ! !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
