I had an excellent experience with Dr Choan, her staff are efficient, and I loved the careful and precise way Dr Choan asked questions to really understand my personal history and had read the referral notes and all my prior examinations from my referring physician, well versed with my case,. Very please to have Dr Choan managing my care.
She has s one of the doctor I have ever have see. She listens to everything you have to say, that's why you might have to be patient. That's what you want in a doctor.
Dr. Choan treated me for approximately 15 years for chronic and severe migraines and for complex partial seizure disorder, both of which she initially diagnosed. She is attention and compassionate, and I would recommend her to others.
I have been seeing Dr. Choan for over 10 years and find her very knowledgeable and attentive. Dr. Choan does run late and that is due to the amount of time she spends with each patient and their individual needs or perhaps she is attending a stroke patient in the hospital. In my opinion Dr. Choan is worth the wait, we have my migraines under control, and I credit her with attempting many different measures until we found success.
I took my mother in law for an assessment for a potential stroke. Absolutely horrible bedside manner. After a series of questions, she told us that she's only obligated to tell us the results of the tests, the appointments are planned for 15 minutes and we should set up a visit with the nurse if we had more questions. It left me so stunned I left & started looking for a new Dr.
Dr. Choan is skilled and listens to every concern. Unfortunately the front office is incompetent and indifferent. They consistently run 30-90 minutes late and there have been serious miscommunications and dropped balls with a referral, 3 weeks for an Rx refill, and not having my MRI's when I showed up for a followup. I have to reluctantly find a new doctor after 15+ years; I'm finished with the front office's repeated mistakes and poor attitude.
I will not go back to this Dr., nor would I recommend her to anyone. I realize you must wait sometimes, but on both occasions this Dr. was very late. I was not as concerned with her promtpness, but was upset that she then rushed thru my appt. while looking at her watch. I was uncomfortable with this Dr., but went back thinking I would give her a 2nd try - She again was late and rushed me thru. She would talk over me and not listen to my concerns. At one point I asked a question and she did not respond. I had to ask a 2nd time and then got a curt response. I felt she was condescending. On my first visit she said they were testing me for MS, and went on to talk about a brain scan, etc. When I ask a question about MS, she scolded me and said she had just gone over that with me, and never answerd my question. I have since requested a change and will see another neurologist.
Not likely. Dr. Choan friendly enough but does not listen, disengaged. Did not perform a comprehensive nerve evaluation or exam. Incomplete. I do not recommend this doctor if you want a through concise examination that is evaluated properly with care and attention to detail. Seek other neurologist.
Literally read my chart to me. Then asked me to do a few movements and after each one she said: that’s a problem. Then she ordered tests. I wanted to discuss mental acuity but it did not happen.
Worst Office I like Dr. Choan and feels she explained my condition well, however, I don’t trust her to follow up because she doesn’t. She doesn’t return calls, she doesn’t refill prescriptions and her staff is completely unresponsive to requests. It is without a doubt the absolute worst office I have ever had the unfortunate experience of being a patient in. Don’t go to her, find another doctor.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
