I was referred to Dr. Spanggord after cataract surgery on my right eye that did not have a good outcome. When I saw Dr. Spanggord the first time she told me that I had pterygium in both eyes that should have removed before having cataract surgery on my right eye. Dr. Spanggord preformed surgery removing the pterygium from both of my eyes. Then she did cataract surgery on my left eye. The outcome was incredible the day after surgery at my post-op I now have 20/40 vision in my left eye (before the cataract surgery I was legally blind) Now I can see again thanks to Dr. Spanggord. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Spanggord, and her efficient staff.

She is a wonderful physician, Both clinically as well as surgically. She is kind, Attentive and thorough. Her office staff are excellent. I have tremendous respect and admiration for Dr Spanggord. The operation that she did for me was flawless. I highly recommend this very fine Ophthalmologist

I've been going to Dr. Spanggord for fifteen years. She is calm, professional, and pretty much top notch. Her support staff can be hit or miss. I prefer the Laguna Beach office staff.

She is a good doctor, but it's not worth going to her because the office management is so terrible. In our experience, they usually run 40-60 minutes behind schedule, no matter what time of day you schedule an appointment. They are also careless with records. We have updated info for our records and the changes don't get made in the electronic record. I would recommend finding a different doctor so you don't have to deal with the poor office management.

The phone system. The staff. AWFUL !! I left 2 messages. No return call. I rang again & after listening to a laundry list of options & long wait my call was picked up by a haughty snippy woman saying “several calls ahead of you hold please “. I interjected & told her this was my 3rd call. I was referred by a current patient of dr Spanggord -& needed an appointment she took my #. Over 24 hours later. No return calls. I wonder how many potential patients are lost due to shoddy first impression!

Well, what can I say, recommend from several friends.....prompt courteous service from support staff, but then, after dilating drops, waited 45 minutes....by this time it was after 5pm and support staff leaving. ......she is very nice, polite, all what you expect, but here we are at 8:01 .....3 plus hours after "dilation drops" put in, I still can't see. I drove home from El Toro to San Juan Capistrano....no warning, or questions "do you have someone driving"....I still can't see properly.

Doctor Holly was able to correctly diagnose my eye condition when others said it was dry eyes... It was an infection! She had a great bedside manner displaying the highest of professionalism. She rules!

I found it almost impossible to get a timely appointment on any day of the week in the morning hours, in the first place, when I made the request in early July 2016. Aftre haggling with the nurse/telephone attendant, I got an early morning 8 AM appointment for Sept. 14, 2016 at 8 AM , which suited me well. Unfortunately on reaching the Doctor's office around 7:50 AM on Sept. 14 I was told I do not have an appointment. The nurses/telephone attendants seem not to care for patient convenience.
