Dr. Jacobs performed ptosis surgery on both my eyes less than two weeks ago. I am amazed at my rate of recovery & attribute this to his experience as an excellent surgeon. When I saw him for my consultation, he answered all my questions and took the time to explain what I could expect. His assistant, Amanda, was very helpful & responsive to my questions prior to the actual surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs.

We were looking for an ocular plastic surgeon with some years of experience to do reconstruction on a basil cell carcinoma removed.  He has 30 years of experience and came highly referred to me by a good friend.  When we found Dr. Jacobs we realized we hit the jackpot.  He took the time to explain everything clearly not walking out the door as many are doing these days. He "actually listened" to our questions,  and explained how he would put it back together the surgical site. His nurse Amanda is spot on and so efficient.  My husband went home today after the repair job on his lid and he looks great.  We can't say enough nice things about Dr. Jacobs and the whole procedure.  Also, he has an amazing technique for removing chalazion without that horrible painful clamp.  Thanks Dr. Jacobs - John and Judi

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Jacobs. I presented with an excessive tearing issue in my left eye; every doctor I’ve seen for two decades has said it’s a blocked tear duct. Dr Jacobs knew the problem was due to the shape of my eyelids. He performed the surgery beautifully, recovery was a breeze, and it was all covered by insurance. I’m two months out of surgery and my tearing issue is gone and my eyes have never looked better. Dr Jacobs promised me he would not stop until he resolved my problem and he is true to his word. I’m so incredibly grateful for him and his caring and professional staff.

I was recently treated by Dr. Jacobs for skin cancer on my lower eyelid. From the initial appointment and biopsy to the surgery and follow up care, my treatment was top notch. He, along with his experience in oculoplastics, reassured me I would be taken care of. He was able to surgically remove the cancer and repair my eyelid and it looks as if nothing happened. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs and am so thankful I found him for my treatment.

Excellent physician and staff

I recently underwent an upper blepharoplasty with Dr. Jacobs. He is a highly skilled physician and surgeon. He spent considerable time with me to ensure I met the criteria for the procedure. Although, I am not even ten days out post operatively and still have minimal swelling, the improvement is impeccable. I already have a wider vision field and can see positive results. Also, the staff at Harvard Eye are very professional and customer service oriented. Lori, the surgical coordinator spent close to one hour reviewing both the pre and post operative instructions and made sure I had everything I needed before I left the office. Very impressive!

During the office visit, he made sure to explain what his thoughts were on the lesion; and this helped me make an educated guess on what I wanted to do. I decided to move forward with the excision, and he made sure all along the way that I was comfortable and pain free. It was over in just a few short moments, and NO scarring down the road! Do not recommend for blepharoplasty surgery. Run from this MD. I went to see him for blepharoplasty surgery as a recommendation from my ophthalmologist who is excellent. My ophthalmologist was shocked at the end result and apologized for sending me to him. The staff is very nice and helpful, especially Lori. She returns calls, is very informative, and attentive to patient needs. Dr. Jeffrey Jacobs has a very pleasant manner and may be qualified for eye care, however as a surgeon, I would not recommend. Post surgery I was very concerned about the length of the scars on my eyelids as they were longer at the inner and outer eye. I was told they would look fine over time. I am very familiar with scar formation and its maturation and did not feel they would heal well or were small enough sutures to not leave significant scar. I waited and again called the office very concerned about the appearance of my scars as the outside of my eyelids were now pulling down. This is the exact opposite of what should occur. Again I was told to wait, without being offered an appointment to come in and check. When I returned to the office for follow-up, I specifically told Lori I requested Dr. Jacobs address the excess scar formation and the appearance of my eyes. During the appointment, he never once addressed the issue. I had to address the issue and was told " yes I see what you mean, they scars are more than usual." There isn't anything we can do about it now. What do you want to do... another surgery? it wouldn't fix it." He also told me this has never happened to any other pts. I doubt this to be true. My eyes are left with thick scar at each side which pulls the eyelid down. There is excess scar at the inner eyelid which also pulls the the eyelid down. People ask me: "what happened to your eyes?" Daily, as I look in the mirror, I have to confront the very poor surgical outcome from this Dr. Please do your research and see a plastic surgeon if you want blepharoplasty. An excellent plastic surgeon will have greater finesse in sutures, skill, and matching your eye shape to what it would look like from previous years, and will not leave you with horrible scars. I am devastated.

I needed to have a procedure done on my eyes which involved cutting a small part of my lower lid. Understandably, I was VERY nervous about it. Dr Jacobs was so gentle that the process was painless and comfortable. I can’t recommend him highly enough. He is knowledgeable, professional and experienced. I wouldn’t trust my eyes to anyone else!
