Loved all my nurses they worked extremely hard around the clock and were so attentive. Nurse Jenner, Madi, Christine, and Jane were so helpful during my experience. They gave amazing advice and kept me comfortable/informed the whole time. Huge thanks to them. Dr. Tanami is also amazing!
I originally had a midwifery, but ended up giving birth here at Saddleback hospital along with my midwife. I have zero regrets! I was admitted for two days & every nurse I received to care for my baby & I were nothing short of saints! They were also kind enough to be patient to answer all my bf's questions as a new dad. I honestly cannot say enough great things about all the nurses who helped us, which I think was a total of 5 ladies & every single one was superb! Shout-out to Lisa & Erica for going above & beyond! I'm so grateful to have delivered my baby boy here!
I had Dr Tananai thru my pregnancy and couldn't be happier . She spend a lot of time with you , answers all your questions and doesn't rush you out of the room. Also communicate really well thru my chart portal. I also want to recognize "check out" person Meghan who is the best person in that office. Very helpful , responsible and sweet.
When I have my next baby, I won't hesitate to return. Nothing but wonderful care from this facility and their staff. Dr. Tanami was wonderful to follow, and my labor, delivery, and postpartum care was phenomenal, considerate, and comfortable. Specific shout out to my delivery nurse Cassie, who made my husband and I feel so calm- and made delivery more fun! The team even sent me a thank you card and made phone calls to make sure I was doing ok after we returned home!
The staff has always been kind and friendly. Being pregnant with our first child, I was expecting a little more warmth and personality from my OBGYN. My first impression with Dr. Lopez was disappointing. I wasn't expecting confetti and balloons when I walked in but she wasn't welcoming either. I totally understand doctors do the same thing all day, everyday but as a new mom-to-be, I've had questions and every question I had, I would get a "it's too early for that". When I asked about having a c-section, again, another negative reply "Be ready for me to say no to you". At one of the visits, I had my husband with me. While she was inputing something in the computer, I was telling Dr. Lopez something (can't remember of the top of my head), she cut me off and told me husband "your wife has been here a few times and knows I won't answer her while doing this". My husband looked at me like wow. I wasn't even aware that she couldn't multitask unlike other doctors. Oh how I couldn't wait to see someone else after a few visits and I sure did.
I've been a patient with Saddleback women's group for a long time and don't understand any of the low reviews- do some people enjoy being mean on the internet? Before being prego, I had my fair share of female issues and received prompt and thorough care (by Dr. Chung, who is no longer there). Once i was pregnant, I started with Dr. Rachael Lopez and my husband and I immediately felt at ease. Dr. Lopez read through my previous medical history in detail and asked me about a rare nerve pain condition that I have as she wanted to make sure that the pain didn't bother me during pregnancy but at the same time, the treatment was safe for my growing baby. She really took her time with us during every appointment- we never felt rushed and most of all, we felt like she truly cared for our well-being. And i always had a TON of questions for Dr. Lopez! I was really looking forward to Dr. Lopez delivering my baby but because my son just didn't want to come out, and I have to have a C-section on a weekend that Dr. Lopez wasn't working, I was told that Dr. Tanamai would be delivering my baby. At first I was disappointed because I had grown to respect Dr. Lopez so much but it turns out, I couldn't go wrong with either. My delivery definitely didn't go as planned but Dr. Tanamai explained every detail along the way and made sure i was comfortable with every unexpected turn. Ultimately she delivered a healthy baby and i will ALWAYS be grateful. Dr. Vaya Tanamai goes above and beyond the call of duty as an ob/gyn. I had an urgent PPD situation on a Saturday night and she stayed with me on the phone for a significant amount of time and made sure I not only felt better, but that I understood my options and next steps. she also recommended that I see her that Monday morning to follow up. Since then, I've had my share of other post partum issues and Dr. Tanamai continues to show what a truly caring and skilled doctor she is. I am so blessed to call her my doctor- she considers both the physical and emotional well-being of her patients and that is rare! On another note, the staff at Saddleback Women's (ie. Megan, Edgar, Jordan) are all very professional and caring. Whenever i walk in (even with a mask!) they recognize me and remember to ask about my son =)
This is the worst OBGYN stay away! Dr. Yu books multiple people at the exact same time and then told me she cannot see me for my appointment when I was there at 2:30 (my appt was 2:30). The staff are super rude and you can tell this doctor just doesn’t care. Coming from a family of physicians I know that is not how your supposed to treat your patients.
The staff is very friendly, helpful, always with a positive attitude willing to go the extra mile to help you! I called i dont know howany times and everytime they answered with a great attitude! Thank you for all the help
If I could give star zero. I would.Dr. Tanamai is rude rushed though my appointment, telling me after 65 no more pap swears are needed because people are no longer sexual active,This May be a shock but I work as a health provider, and seniors are bed hoping like crazy in Laguna hills, they have lots of std and HPV,and need education on safety and protection. Please Dr Tanamai talk to some of your colleagues that treat the seniors, Please don't show ageism or prejudice or discrimination,I left your office knowing I will never return,Your best interest is thinning the herd.I will found a Dr that listens to me and understands that women are sexually active far beyond 65 and we need our pap swears and mammogram.
I was thoroughly disappointed with both the office front staff and my visit with Dr. Tanamai at this location and thus will not be returning. Upon arrival and sign-in, two women at the reception desk were having a conversation and did not look up or acknowledge my presence after signing in, until I asked if I needed to do more to let them know I was there for my appointment. They apologized saying someone else is usually there to sign patients in. My appointment was for a pap smear, IUD removal and to discuss treatment options for major PMS mood disorders. I was on a very heavy day of my period but decided to keep the appt. since I figured the IUD could be removed and the PMS issue handled by the office visit. My previous gynecologist had me come in during my period for IUD insertion to make it easy since the cervix is more open, it seemed to me the same would apply for removal. Dr. Tanamai was pleasant, but glossed over all my PMS issues and didn't seem to be listening to me at all. She seemed like all she wanted to do was the Pap smear, my guess is this is a high billing procedure. She told me she could do the pap smear as long as my period wasn't too heavy and I informed here that it was extremely heavy and could always come back. She insisted on doing the procedure and then while performing the procedure, literally said "you've got to be kidding me" probably because I was bleeding like crazy. Needless to say, the results were inconclusive, probably because they were contaminated with menstrual blood. I've been to a gynecologist on my period before and was told to come back for a pap smear because it messes up the results. This didn't seem to matter to Dr. Tanamai, all she wanted to do was that procedure and get me out of the office. I had the pap smear on November 22 and just received a call last night December 17 that the results were inconclusive. That is 25 days. I have never had results take that long. In short, the whole experience from reception to doctor's visit to follow-up was a disappointment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
