All I can say is avoid Saddleback hospital at all costs. Even if you flat lining get to Hoag Irvine or Mission HospitalMy family member was sent here because of serious respiratory issues. Paramedics would not transport them to Hoag Irvine which is the normal hospital we used. I'm not complaining about the care per say. I am not an expert in critical care so I don't know what is good what is bad. However, the communication from doctors and nursing staff at his hospital are as bad as I've ever experienced and I have been dealing with nurses and doctors of my family member daily for the last 4 years.I am an advocate for my sick family member and I consider myself part of the care team and need information so I can ask the right questions and also provide doctors with appropriate history that they would not otherwise know. The doctors and staff at Saddleback have communicated very little to me. When asked about certain information, they point me to go get from hospital records.I do have access to Memorial Care MyChart but the information is about 1/2 of what I get from Hoag Irvine, Kaiser and Orange County Global where my family member has been at in the last 3 years. I asked the staff over and over how I can get medical scan interpretations and other test results uploaded to my chart (like all of the other hospitals) and I was dismissed without any compassion to go find it in medical records.There has only been one staff member whom I can sing praises and that was Muriel who is the ICU night shift nurse. She is great and has been very helpful. No one else has.

Did an X-Ray test here. All the stuff members were very professional. The lab assistant explained to me in details what to expect for my test and she is very caring. I'm happy with my experience at this facility.

Having a friend getting better is a deep beautiful feeling. The doctors and staff dilently caring in the cardiac unit. Very Fine things they do.

Like many hospitals in cities these days (for a variety of reasons), the medical staff here are certainly busy, and there may be potentially be a small hiccup or two in your overall experience even if it's just an administrative one, but in our experience the medical team here was kind, professional, and provided good care. Dr. Kimberly Motta was the overseeing physician for my mom's care and she was informative, caring, and friendly, all of which I very much appreciated. Dr. Stanley Nguyen, Dr. Tri Tong, and Dr. Tsimpas were also attending physicians and they were all great. The attending nurses were also wonderful and I wish I could remember all their names but I only remember Sabrina, who was very nice.

I would give negative stars if I could. The staff here is horrible, lazy amateur hour. I could here the staff talking about giving an IV to a patient and nobody wanted to do it and they laughed it off. The care I received personally here was a joke, but they still bill you for it!

I came here to address a burn on my fingertips that had blistered, but they wanted me to wait outside on a chilly night so I left after about 10 minutes. Why are these hospitals alienating their customers and making them wait outside? It makes no sense! There has to be a better way!?

I did forget to mention, that ER did admit me to the hospital on my original visit because my blood pressure was 192/92. When I was being discharged because nothing was wrong with me, I asked about my high blood pressure. I was told "That's normal for you". I had to literally fight for blood pressure medication. They told me it was not needed.

I had to post this after reading Bayleef B's review. I had a similar experience with Saddleback ER. Went there with chest pains on a Saturday morning. I was admitted for tests and put on a nitrogen drip. Over a three day period I passed all the cardiac tests (they did not do an angio even though I was requesting it). They told me I was fine and could go on my planned vacation - a trip to a cabin in Idaho where there was no cell phone service and the nearest hospital was an hour away. But, hey...I'm fine per Saddleback so, I go. While there I suffered severe chest pains to the point of passing out. But, again, I think "Its not heart. I'm ok." When I got back in town I immediately called the cardiologist that Saddleback assigned to me to get an appointment with her. By now, the chest pains are so bad I have to pull over when I'm driving...but it's not heart..I'm fine, right? When I finally get into the doctor she tells me it is in my head and I should seek help. She said she would schedule me for an angioplasty but if the pain continues to go to Saddleback ER immediately. A few days go by and I get no calls from the doctor who is supposed to do the angioplasty. Again, severe chest pains happen again, to the point of vomiting. I go to Saddleback ER. The nurse checking me in this time starts giggling and rolling her eyes at me "Those are not symptoms women get with heart problems" she states. I get in the ER, they call my assigned cardiologist and she tells them to send me home, I'm fine. This was a Saturday. On Monday, I schedule a visit with another cardiologist through Mission Hospital to get a second opinion. He schedules me for angioplasty right away and finds a 90% blockage in my LAD - THE WIDOWMAKER! He told me if only one small piece of the blockage had broken off I would just have dropped dead and never knew what hit me. Stay away from Saddleback ER. Bayleef is right, they do not take women seriously.

I went to this "hospital" by ambulance. From beginning to end, every employee and doctor were extremely rude, dismissive and off-putting. I ended up going my AMA to Mission Providence and were wonderful. This a photo of what saddleback did to my arm.

I was passing a stone two days before Christmas and had to come to the ER here at SBMH. Was obviously in great discomfort so the check in process was brutal. I didn’t care for the lady that checked me in at all. In any event, there was nobody in the waiting room so thankfully I was seen right away. I’ll say that the ER staff was awesome and diligent in getting me taken care of, specifically Austin Sager. He was very attentive, patient, caring, and genuine. Dr. Huynh was just “okay.” Came in after 2 hours, gave a 60 second review/summary of what was going on and wrote out some prescriptions. Very “check the box” type of interaction w/o much of a human component added, but he’s a doctor, they’re all like that. Overall, I would recommend this hospital and ER.
