Good doctor in his line on nephrology but not good on bedtime manners. You get disappointed with his medical advice and it's good he was no longer my doctor when I had emergency in May. He is an HMO type doctor, interested in you only during appointed time but in between dates, I don't he cares. When he was treating me, he prescribed anemic shots because I have below normal CBC. What I don't like with Dr. Ho was the way he exited from his Orange office. He knew in February '24 that he would be terminating his office lease yet did continue making appointment in May and ordered lab work too, the fact he is out by June '24. He said that he will explain his daparture by May, what for? As a Stage 4 kidney patient, you are concerned of continuity of care. It creates stress when you changed nephrologist. I had my condition for the last 20 years and my first nephrologist was great, very professional and guided over the years. Unfortunately, he is not on my HMO and soon retiring. Well after Dr. Ho, thank God, Kevin Pham took over, the owner and lessor of clinic in Orange as my new nephrologist who was friendlier and more caring than Dr. Ho. Dr. Pham explains everything and keep you on the loop of what you should avoid though remain positive at all times. Therefore, I will just give Dr. Ho 3 stars enough said.
Never returns calls. Dr Ho's assistant is the worse.
very caring and concern for my husband. easy to talk to and spends the time to discuss our concerns.
I came to Dr. Ho almost 9 years ago with Stage 4 kidney failure. Over these years, he has helped me navigate a scary time in my life and been a source of information and assistance. I have learned that there is "no repairing" of my kidneys but there are ways to extend and improve my health outlook. I have made difficult financial choices to continue care under Dr. Ho. That is the best endorsement i can give him and would encourage anyone to seek his medical advice.
I am a reoccurring patient of Dr. Ho. I made an appointment scheduled for March 2024 around a year ago after I visited him. I received a call from the front office receptionist (who was extremely rude) today, who told me Dr. Ho would be on vacation during my appointment and that I needed to reschedule. She said the earliest appointment was now in May 2024. I asked if there was anything earlier (hoping they would prioritize the canceled patients due to his vacation), and she said, "No. Do you want May, or will call back to book another date/time?" And kept saying that he was booked until then. Having worked in the medical field myself, I have never seen something so unprofessional. She was trying to rush over the phone call and would not give me a chance to compile my thoughts. Please save yourself your time and money and go somewhere else!

I am a physician who saw Dr. Ho four years ago for hypertension. I have not had a problem till a couple of weeks ago when I had a hypertensive crisis. I called his office to get an urgent appointment to see him. His receptionist gave me a date almost two months hence stating that I would be regarded as a new patient, ignoring the serious nature of my condition. I asked, as a professional courtesy, if he could just talk to me over the phone to give me some guidance. She demurred. A few days later she called and told me that he would not speak to me. One wonders about the state of medicine these days when a physician refuses to speak to another even in the face of a critical situation.
Enjoy my visit, first time, he answered my questions, and is very caring .

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
