Paul Prendiville's Online Review Report Card

He was polite at our first visit, but unfortunately Dr Prendiville messed up my Dad's cataract surgery very badly. We immediately went to a different ophthalmologist who repaired some of the damage Dr Prendiville did. I hope this helps someone avoid him, we learned too late that Dr Prendiville is well known amongst doctors for being incompetent.

Excellent Doctor! My cataract surgery is amazing! He is a compassionate doctor as well as a qualified one. He never gave up on a complicated condition I have. He was optimistic that in spite of this condition cataract surgery would be successful. He was right. I can see like Superman now. I owe it all to his patience and expertise. Simply the BEST we have met over the years of our eye issues!

Optometrist was thorough and friendly. The doctor was friendly and polite, he explained there evaluative procedures but didn't explain or provide commentary about my eye condition, as I expected from my interactions with previous opthalmologist. It was pretty offputting. The entire appointment took longer than expected as well. Not sure if this is the manner and technique of all doctors in this practice?

Friendly and efficient staff

I had cataract surgery in my right eye in June 2020 and my review of dr Paul Prinderville is that he doesn’t explain anything to you. Just hands you a sheet with prices on it and pretty much expects you to figure out what you should do. I ended up with poor vision. My vision was much better prior to cataract surgery. He said he put in a lens for far vision. Anything beyond 25 feet is blurry now!! He needs to get out of his “robut” mode and figure out how to be a good eye surgeon.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Prendiville for 16 years and trust him implicitly with all of our eye care needs. He is professional and knowledgeable and takes time to explain any issues in an easy to understand manner. Recently, he performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. It was a huge success and I couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Prendiville's Surgery Assistant, Demi, is outstanding. She is efficient, friendly and goes out of her way to be helpful. During our first visit in 2004 we were lucky enough to meet and get to know Courtney, who handles all of our eyeglass needs. She is friendly, knowledgeable and in all these years there has never been a mistake with our prescription glasses. She is a star and both my husband and I feel as if she is a friend. Thank you again, Dr. Prendiville for taking such great care of us and for having such an excellent staff.

He's shockingly inept.

Dangerously inept. To save my sight and sanity, I had to contact my primary physician to get a referral for a more qualified ophthalmologist. I advise every prospective patient to take the time to read the reviews.

my grandfather had cataracts and they accepted our insurance. We were assured that it was a very common surgery, he had been doing it for a long time, and he was also from USC, so we went ahead with it. Right after the surgery there were a lot of problems, which he said are common but improve. After a couple visits like that, we got suspicious, so I took him to another eye surgeon on our own, who showed us scan pictures and explained the serious damage that Dr. Prendiville botched. He was nice enough at our appointment, and the ladies at the desk were nice, but I would not recommend Dr. Prendiville to anyone or their families, because eye sight is a serious matter, and because he is lousy surgeon. I am not trying promote others doctors here, my point is to warn people to avoid Dr Prendiville, especially since there are so many others who can do a good job at surgery where it actually counts.
