Who ever wrote the negative review on Dr. Masters has no clue what they were saying. Dr. Masters in the Cardiologist for other physicians and cardiologists in the area. I've known him as my physician for 40 years. Jim Campbell
Dr Gault is fine is you already have a diagnosis and just need monitoring. Would not go to him to discover or treat a serious issue. He's pleasant and friendly--but did not seem motivated to really take care of his patients. The last time I was in his office he said he was "good" with systolic blood pressure that was averaging 180. His nurse (who I always appreciate as being the backbone of every good office) was wonderful when others were around, but just nasty when she was by herself. On the plus side, the front desk people are professional.
On 6/30/2021 to my complete surprise I've ended up in an Emergency Room of Saddleback hospital with heart palpitations (blood pressure 114/80/157). I was administered CARDIZEM and saline lock flush and I was diagnosed with Atrial Flutter. After release from the Emergency room I was directed to cardiologist dr. John Bahadorani of Orange County Cardiology Center. I've seen dr. Bahadorani on 7/7/2021 and at the time I was advised that ablation is common used procedure to address Atrial Flutter. Subsequently I wore a monitor to monitor in a real time performance of my heart and on 7/13/2021 I've seen dr. Ashish Shah , and electrophysiologist. All my contacts with the medical staff and support personnel of the Orange County Cardiology Group were of the highest caliber and personal I met was professional, knowledgeable and kind. Thank you for your assistance and support in that difficult time.
Very disappointed that I decided to be honest with this group and let them know that my husband tested positive for Covid last week. I had an appointment with Dr. Shah for Friday and decided to do the right thing and reschedule my appointment to later this month as I did have some mild symptoms, I.e. a fever and chills. To my surprise I was told I would have to present a negative Covid test in order to be seen in their office?I am happy to change this review once someone revisits the policy and allows individuals to seek medical attention without the requirement of a negative Covid test. Is this being required by everyone to see a doctor in the office? Or only those who honestly disclose that they have potentially had it. Don't federal regulations protect patients from physicians refusing to treat them? Again, stick to the CDC guidelines, 14 days of quarantine. Rescheduling to 14 days later would make more sense.

Love Dr. Gault!!
Ive been a patient of Dr. Masters for twentyfive years and he is the greatest. A friend switched to him. He is very understanding and very interested in his patients wellbeing.
I had issues with this group in the past. Since Ive written bad reviews for a number of issues...like bad staff and a few problems with my Doctor. I wanted to say there was a lot of changes with staff and etc., I wanted to write a positive review because of these positive changes.Dr. Shah is a compassionate Doctor and I’m glad I stayed with this practice and Doctor.

I’m a big fan of Dr. Masters. Great doctor and seems like he would be a good dude to have a beer with....
I should have read the reviews. Dr Masters is one of the BEST doctors I have ever seen and THE best cardiologist ever. I wish I could say the same for his office assistant that filters his calls. She is the WORST I have ever dealt with. It mirrors the other reviews. Last year I needed my heart medication when it was out of refills and after leaving 10 messages I finally had to drive to the office crying while my heart acted up. I had a hard time scheduling more appointments after that experience and eventually forgot. When it came time to schedule new refills I called and left all my information.. no call back. I call again. No call back. I have CVS request it, no response. I hit the doctors line on the voicemail just to reach someone and they said “you haven’t been in for a year so we can’t refill.” I said, “no one called me back and told me that or I would have rescheduled. They apologized and said they would have her take care of it after they scheduled my appointment. Then I waited for hours with my heart in AFIB. I call the pharmacy, no prescription. I have to go through every line in the office and they said they will get it in. His assistant needs to be fired. She is rude on top of lazy. She is the worst assistant and is probably taking advantage of him because he is honestly the best doctor. Something needs to change with the phone system 😭 Sarah at the front ended up taking care of it for me and it wasn’t her task ( she didn’t say that because she is professional, but she’s reception). She is the ONLY one I would keep aside from amazing Masters.
I recommend Dr. Shah. He was very personable, knowledgable, and listened to my concerns carefully.

I went through all the tests and not one phone call with the results. All I got was a $500.00 bill. I spoke to their office and told them I’m not paying, so they told me they would get back to me and they never did. I called the billing and told them I have never received a call with any tests results and they were so rude,I hung up. This is the worst group I have ever been too.

I have to give him two stars because my procedure was fine, and I would like to say thats what really counts, but his dismissive attitude toward my compliant of chest pain, years after my first heartattack, was breathtakingly insensitive and potentially deadly. Fortunately I was persistent (as he walked away from me), so I can type this warning to others.
