Very disappointed that I decided to be honest with this group and let them know that my husband tested positive for Covid last week. I had an appointment with Dr. Shah for Friday and decided to do the right thing and reschedule my appointment to later this month as I did have some mild symptoms, I.e. a fever and chills. To my surprise I was told I would have to present a negative Covid test in order to be seen in their office? I am happy to change this review once someone revisits the policy and allows individuals to seek medical attention without the requirement of a negative Covid test. Is this being required by everyone to see a doctor in the office? Or only those who honestly disclose that they have potentially had it. Dont federal regulations protect patients from physicians refusing to treat them? Again, stick to the CDC guidelines, 14 days of quarantine. Rescheduling to 14 days later would make more sense.
No follow through. Office staff unkind, not helpful. Too busy to schedule follow up required tests. Too busy to schedule results. They truly dont care. I dont recommend.
My husband, Mike, had a mitral valve tear. Dr Gim was very thorough and provided an accurate diagnosis. He recommended a good surgeon. The surgeon repaired the mitral valve and Mike is doing great. We would recommend Dr. Gim wholeheartedly. He cares!

Dr Daniel La Mont cornered me in his exam room, got right in my face and started verbally abusing me. It all started when he asked if I had the Covid vaccination. I told him I had not. He asked why and I said it was not FDA approved and he shot back that it was FDA approved experimental. I started to say that I did not want any experimental drug injected into my body but he cut me off before I could say that. He then asked me if I had been looking online and I said I had seen many videos done by mostly ER doctors who are treating patients with Covid and all patients have survived. Unfortunately, he didnt let me finish. I started to say that even at my age of 76, I still had a 95% chance of surviving Covid and with HCQ or ivermectin and zinc it was closer to 100% survival. Again, he cut me off before I could finish. Then I mentioned that people are getting blood clots from the vaccine and he shot back in a mean tone, No, they arent. Of course, they are causing blood clots in some people unfortunately. I told him I was sure he had my best interest at heart but then he backed off and mumbled something about my choice. I felt attacked and disrespected. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with my decision not to get the vaccination, but I do have a problem with being attacked
Love this office, and really like the professionalism of the office and Dr. Gim. I've never felt like I was a "number". Whenever I go into the office, I always feel like they "see" me, and the conversations I have with Dr. Gim, are always enlightening and helpful. Cardiac health is very important and they definitely are on top of my history. You will love this office!
I was sent here from my OBGyn due to needing clearance before a surgery I need to have. I had an EKG that came back abnormal so I needed clearance due to those results. My surgery was scheduled one week from the first EKG. When I called on Wednesday they got me in on Thursday. They did another EKG and it produced the same results. I had to have an echocardiogram done to be cleared for my surgery. Again they got me in immediately and the procedure was done on Friday. They called me this morning with the results and let me know I was cleared for surgery and also faxed the results to my doctor. I saw Dr LaMont, briefly. He did explain to me in detail what my EKG results meant, down to drawing it out on paper which I found very helpful. His nurse, Kate, was phenomenal. She was so friendly and her and I had a lot in common in the small amount of time we chatted while she did my EKG. She was so comforting and understanding and she truly was a major positive spot in my super stressful time. She is also the one who called me to give me my clearance and wish me well on my surgery. My first appointment the waiting room was completely full, with chairs socially distanced. My second appointment it was me and one other patient and he was on speaker phone the 20 minutes I sat there and waited, and pulled his mask down to blow sand out of his laptop. I truly wish they wouldve said something to him about being VERY loud on speaker phone. It was so frustrating. The echo tech was patient with me, as due to my anxiety, I struggle to breathe. I have to concentrate and Im often not able to take a deep breathe which causes me to panic and its a cycle sadly. She told me to let her know when I needed to take a deep breath, as if I do it during the procedure it messes up things on her end. She was really understanding and Im so grateful for that and she was really good about telling me the good times on her end to try to get a good breath in. I honestly dont know if I need to follow up here, I will sort that out once Im done with my surgery. Everything was so last minute and crazy trying to get it all done and this office was really great about finding the time to make it all happen and Im so grateful.
I have been going to Dr. Melford for 15 years. Very professional , calm and easy to talk to. I have had very good results too. Age 70

Im still very upset that I walked around for SIX months after doing the necessary tests, and not once did I get a phone call from this doctor at south county cardiologist group telling me that my main artery was 100% blocked. I walked around not knowing I could of died anytime of the day for the past six months because this doctor didnt do his job. Now Im afraid to trust my new cardiologist because that doctor didnt do his job. What now. Do I forget about it because he failed to diagnose me? I hope this doesnt happen again to someone else.
Dr. Gimm saved my mother's life...he is very attentive, intelligent Doctor.
After south county cardiology group failed to reach me, and let me know I was walking around with a 100% blockage of my main artery or the widow maker for 6 months, I assumed that things have changed for the better...I was wrong. I left a message for my doctor that I was struggling to breathe, five days later he finally had his helper tell me to either call my primary doctor or go to an urgent care. It wasnt like I stubbed my toe ... I had bypass surgery. I called another Cardiologist in my area, and they got me in a couple days... I didnt want much, just to let me know I wasnt dying.
My fiancé saw Dr. Shah back in March of this year...He had several test done but never heard back with the results ...Including him making several phone calls to the office...We finally got a call back from Dr. Shah (6 months later)saying you need to get to Emergency... did he finally read his test results????it was on October 2 ....I know because it was my birthday and we were going to lunch ...Dr Shah said you need to go to emergency right away and I will be there to see you after I finish with my patients...We went right away to Saddleback emergency where my fiancé had an angiogram done... it showed The main artery was 100% blocked and hed have to have heart bypass surgery ASAP .... he had the surgery done three days later .... everything seemed fine but he was getting very lightheaded like he was going to faint and was having a hard time breathing... he then went in to see Dr. Shah two weeks after the surgery ... which Dr. Shaw said everything seemed fine... He is still having a hard time breathing and feeling like hes going to pass out ...called the doctor several times ... no response...hes MIA ...then we finally get a call saying go see your primary care doctor REALLY...so sad... how can you treat your patient like this who trusted you with his life... we will never go back ....proceed with caution...
I went through weeks of different tests and not once did I get any results back from my doctor. I found out later he wasn't a cardiologist he was a DO. Why did I get a DO at a Cardiology group. I had already gone through a test and a week later I would get a call from their office telling me I have the test and 3 times I had to tell her I had already had the damn test. Well, I got the bill for $500 and I called saying I never got any results and all I got was this Hitler voice telling me to pay it or else. I'm 65 now and if I don't get at least decent service I will challenge the bill. The rude person I spoke to should not work in customer service because she was the worst. Terrible! Just terrible!

I ran into some heart problems when I gave birth to my daughter a year ago. Dr. Gim was the doctor I saw at the hospital. Although he didn't have the greatest news he assured me everything would be ok and made me feel completely at ease. I liked him so much that I continued to see him for future follow up appointments. He is by far one of the nicest Doctors I've seen. I highly recommend him.
Had a 1:00 appt with Dr Melford. Was shown to Exam Room at 1:15, given an EKG and never heard from anyone including the Doctor. Left at 2 pm.<br>Going to find a different cardio group. Very unprofessional!
This was a joke from start to finish. Ill make this short... I started seeing this doctor for concerns of passing out and feeling lethargic, before Covid19. Every test I had I would never get a call explaining their findings. I wore this device for two weeks and when they got the results, they said the results were inclusive and blamed me for not doing properly. This was the only time I got a call back and they blamed me. Every time they called me to set up an appointment... I already went through the test, so they are just not together at all. I recently got the bill for $500.00 and they charged me for the failed procedure. Never getting a call back, Im guessing my heart is fine. I would never recommend this group.
Everywhere else I tried to make an appointment was booked up but not this place. I can now see why I got an appointment so easily. Do not go here! You will get harassed with a huge bill. Plus the doctor has a smart mouth on him for a little guy. Anyway, plenty to choose from in Orange County. There is a reason some doctors have appointments booked out. This guy nope....
