List of Judith Romero's Reviews
I am so disappointed. I have been seeing Dr. Romero for a few years. After my last experience with her office I am questioning her judgement. I originally went to see her about a bump on my finger that would not go away. She looked at it and thought best to try and burn it off. It opened it up like a small sore and did not heal. I decided in approximately two weeks to get a second opinion. I went to another long time and well respected dermatologist in Thousand Oaks. The doctor took one look at it and said it was a Mucus Cyst. The doctor did not even touch it and said I need to see a hand surgeon. The doctor also said Dr. Romero should have known better. We know doctors usually do not say that about other doctor. Then I went to a hand surgeon and he said it would need to be removed in surgery. The hand surgeon was concerned since it was like an open sore and an infection could get in there to the bone that I needed to be very careful until surgery. I had surgery and it was removed. I am frustrated with Dr. Romero not knowing what it was originally was and handling it appropriately. Instead she tried to burn it off, which was not going to heal it and just made it worse. The two doctors I saw after her knew exactly what it was and how to handle it. They were a bit concerned she did not. I have contacted her office and they said I owe for the bill and I have to pay it. But I want to let people know of my experience. This is very scary. I am thankful it did not get infected. A couple of my friends have also left her practice. Becareful.
I have never in my life met such a rude doctor as Dr Romero. I brought my 17 year old daughter in today to have a mole on her tail bone looked at. As most 17 year old girls are she is a bit on the modest side. When I told Dr Romero that she then replied " well if she is gonna be shy, I won't look at it then "which took me and my daughter aback. Then my daughter said well I want you took look at it just give me a moment to relax. Then Doctor Romero started lecturing her that she better get over it because soon she will have a pap and Breast exams and she can't be modest. My daughter was so upset by the doctor she started crying. I will never ever back to this doctor. And would never recommend her to anyone!!!
I've been a patient of Dr. Romero's for over 10 years. She is the only doctor I have not switched! She's very professional and I have full confidence in her evaluations and recommendations. I like that she doesn't keep patients waiting too long. She makes me feel comfortable asking about any skin issues and when I have a full cancer screening. She and her staff are very helpful with finding treatments covered by insurance. She always knows about new treatments being researched and approaches my skin issues in a positive way to make me feel less self-conscious.
I came to Dr. Romero for a Pilar cyst removal on my head. She told me they always grow back. If the dr. removes whole cyst and cleans the area they do not, so thought was just being cautious. The day of removal was hurried, said she thought she got most of it and stitched up. Could not make stitch removal as in hospital with daughter so called, office was rude. Removed a stitch at home, pushed on swelling and five 1/8-1/4" lumps of left behind cyst popped out onto mirror. Will never go back.
The front office staff is very nice and works to get you in and out efficiently. I saw Dr Simoni and she was great. She was very professional, took time to ask questions and listened to my responses. She made appropriate referrals and took great care of me. There is a little wait but overall, great experience and team.
Hello Brian. Again it would be nice if the doctor would answer the review herself, you were not in the room . I understand you want to make the review sound as fake because you don't want new customers to get discouraged, I think is not coincidence there is so many bad reviews. Yes, I am not the patient, my son is, or was. I think you should read the review carefully , this happened when I was standing up to show my son's skin issues and the progress, and right away she asked me to sit because I made her uncomfortable. This happened the second visit. It's ok. You are doing your job . Please have the doctor read the reviews. Sometimes we don't realize we are doing something wrong or making customers uncomfortable and other people's opinions makes us improve our attitudes and the way we treat other people. Thank you!
The very first time I went into dr. Romero's office I felt very rushed . The staff was very cold and they even wrote my information wrong in the computer. Second time I went , staff that walks you in the room was very serious and not warm at all. When dr. Romero came into the room . Told me immediately to seat down because I made her very uncomfortable. The reason why I stood up was to show her my son's skin problems. She made me feel very uncomfortable. And after that remark she was really nice , as if she knew she did something very unprofessional. I do agree with previous reviews that say that she doesn't take responsibility for her bad reviews. Bad reviews are there for a reason, not to give her bad reputation. It would be nice if she would take responsibility and if she would be the one responding to the reviews.
I'm really not sure why Dr. Romero has so many negative reviews! She was absolutely wonderful and informative, she took the time to explain the repercussions of any procedure I chose to undergo and she even gifted me a serum for an unrelated issue; I broke my thumb nearly a year ago and she noticed my nail wasn't completely intact and gave me a hearty sample of Genadur to speed up the growing process. That was so sweet of her, she didn't need to do that for me, but I'm entirely grateful. I felt really taken care of when I met with her. Not to mention, she looks nothing like her actual age is! If that's not the sign of a good cosmetic dermatologist, I don't know what is.
I just had the WORST experience with this Doctor. She would ask me questions and then immediately interrupted me to make it clear that I knew nothing about my health history. I seriously wanted to cry the whole time. I'm soo glad that there are 300 other Dermatologists in Ventura County. Avoid her if you can.
Dr. Romero was wonderful! I loved the professional attention and wealth of information I am sure will save my life. I have recommended her to family and friends, and everyone is so happy we have an outstanding Dermatologist in our city.Claudia M.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
