Kyle Coker's Online Review Report Card

I had Dr. Coker fix my wrist a year and a half ago. I went to him because my boss, a Physical Therapist, recommended him. Of course, since he had seen great work from him, I decided that he would be the best choice for me. I had issues with my wrist since I was 8 or 10 years old. I couldnt do push ups, push myself up onto something, or even push a door open at times without excruciating pain. As I got older, it got worse. I just couldnt deal with it anymore and didnt want issues giving injections as I was just starting nursing school. I had an MRI done outside of SCOS because I thought it may have been a cyst, but it wasnt. So, I brought my MRI into Dr. Coker and he looked at it at different angles with me for at least 45 minutes. He was stumped. He had no idea why I was having these issues when my wrist was extended in certain positions. I elected to do exploratory surgery so that he could just look inside my wrist for himself rather than on the MRI. After 16 minutes of surgery, he had fixed my wrist! I had, in fact, a cyst between my scaphoid and capitate bone that was so hard as it had been there for so many years. I also had a ligament that connected the two bones that would lift my scaphoid bone when my hand was in an extended position, causing the pain. He cut it and extracted the cyst. My wrist is not completely free of pain, but it could be in my head after 80 push ups.I would have never been able to do that before. I can now do push ups, push myself up onto a rock if I wanted, and never have flair ups that inhibit me from even pushing a door open. I am so grateful that he took the time to figure out what was wrong with my wrist and really listened to me in what I had to say was wrong with it. I really appreciate everything that he did and would recommend him to anyone to get their wrist or foot surgery completed. Thank you Dr. Coker!

I was referred to Dr Kyle Coker (SCOS) for my Trigger Finger. He was patient, knowledgeable and explained all the details i needed to know about my condition. He placed an order for my custommade Brace for my wrist instead of asking me to purchase from the pharmacy which wont be able to fit my small hand! The Cortisone shot i received was not as painful and it works. He is humble and responsive to my inquiry with a phone call with further explanation.  I would strongly recommend him as your specialist.

I waited 1 1/2 hours for 10 minutes of his time and he acted like I should be thankful for his 10 minutes. Instead, I never went back and now have a quality doctor that cares. This guy is so full of himself.

I have been seeing Dr. Coker for over 10 years for various issues with my hands. Hes removed a thorn out of my pinky and a cyst off my finger and most recently this year carpal tunnel surgery on both hands.  I was cautious  going into my first carpal tunnel but it was such a success I immediately scheduled the other one. I personally would not trust anyone else with my hands.   He is  knowledgeable,  friendly and overall a great doctor and person.  He takes his time and explains everything in detail .  His team is friendly as well.  I would highly recommend him for any hand issues as I have never had one complication from anything hes ever done.   You  will not be disappointed.  I cant say enough positive things about this Doctor.

Dr. Coker attempted to repair a jammed finger.  It was a difficult case, as I did not realize it was broken for almost a month.  After the first surgery, all the pins came out.  I questions whether this was due to physical therapy exercises I was instructed to do after surgery.  The physical therapist I was worked with was not very experienced. For the second surgery, more pins were inserted to secure the finger. Some of the physical therapy exercises were eliminated after the second surgery. After the second surgery, I asked about an unusual bump on my finger.  I was told that it was normal.  I wish I had listened to my gut, because  my finger became infected and a procedure was performed to remove all the pins.     Recently, I had an infection the finger again.  This was due to a suture left in the finger from one of the prior surgeries or procedures. l will need a third surgery to repair/fuse the finger.

Dr. Coker performed two surgeries on my hand � one failed and the other, as I found out too late, completely wrong and unnecessary for my condition. Afterwards, when I followed up with him about my continued pain and symptoms, he told me he was done with [my] hand and expressed zero empathy. My hand is now in worse condition than it was prior to surgery. Im suffering daily from the painful consequences of these procedures and have even been encouraged by several people to take legal action. I would recommend patients really do their homework about their doctor and condition or risk finding themselves in the unfortunate position I find myself in now � get more opinions, dont be afraid to ask questions and speak up for yourself . . . its your body, health and life!

The wait is very long

Was referred by a healthcare provider to Cokers office. Easy to contact, wsa asked all the appropriate questions.....seemed spot on until the price...was quoted by the call center as an initial office visit is $600.00. About had a stroke.....not brain surgery consult..........I am sure Coker is good but this is a consult for maybe 15 minutes....a infected thumb issue status post IV infusion of antibiotics..........went to another Name hand surgeon for half the price and willingly paid cash as physician was out of my network. Thumb resolved in 48 hours. Medical group needs to reassess office polices for cash or private pay....especially when the group takes Monarch managed care and is willing to accepted those lower rates.

Dr. Coker is very clinical and knows his stuff. He is professional and courteous. He appears to be focused on the task at hand. If you are looking for a physician who will make you feel all warm and fuzzy, he is not the one. However, results are what count here and I believe he delivers that. I would recommend him to anyone and would definitely go back to him should the need arise.

Patient on crutches for long term disability with arthritis in thumb. Dr. Coker didnt recommend different style crutch handles as the referring family doctor and physical therapist had. When asked for the name of an over the counter thumb brace that might help, he couldnt come up with a the specific name of a single model or a single manufacturer. This is a hand specialist?
