List of Memorialcare Surgical Center Laguna Woods's Reviews
I just had shoulder surgery here last week and just wanted to shout out the amazing team here. The pre op nurses were amazing, the environment was kept very light and Mia in particular was great at administering an IV when my veins didn't want to cooperate. Special shout out as well to Maureen? In post op who took great care and kept my wife informed. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the covid policies desperately need an update. There is no reason why one visitor can't accompany you in the waiting room and for the mask roulette, mask on here, mask off here etc. Especially when I had to pay $160 for a covid test proving I was clear.
I love there! So friendly, kind, care about you!!! Look like your family. Thank you!
I don't think I have EVER met a surgical staff this dedicated before. Between Jessica at admissions to Mia who ran through questions with me who were VERY kind, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I haven't had a staff who didn't see me like a ticket or just a number. Their focus is on you, how you're feeling, and are prepared to make sure you're ready both physically and mentally.I didn't catch her name exactly, but I think is was Shannon Ray or Sherry, Head Nurse of the department. I was still waking up from the anesthesia when I asked for her name. She looked into my bed area and noticed that i was a little uneasy before surgery. It was comforting that she took a huge interesting in making sure I didn't feel alone and wanted to make sure I knew i had the support I needed from the nursing staff. She periodically checked up on me before and after my surgery to ensure everything would go well, and to make sure I wasn't in too much pain. Since I couldn't voice much, she noticed that my hand was clenched and told the others to watch that.Dr. Nguyen my anesthesiologist who was more than knowledgeable to walk me through the steps the night before, make sure I was comfortable and relaxed during my visit. It was comforting that before I left, she wanted to check in on me to make sure I was okay to leave the surgical center. I have NEVER had an anesthesiologist do something like that before, having that kind of reassurance before you leave is comforting.Briana, my surgical room nurse, whose smile could like up a room and kind of put you at ease. Looking to make you laugh or a small smile. Everyone knows how nerve-wracking it can be to go into a surgical room feeling alone, but she keeps your attention and walks you through everything. Dedicated to making sure you're good to go.Nicole, my post-op nurse, was extremely helpful. I had a lot of pain after surgery, but she did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable, to make sure I was safe, and to reassure me that everything was going to be okay. She also periodically called my spouse about every 15-20 minutes to let her know my progress whether it was good or bad. She was very gentle, kind, and it was comforting to know that someone was there every moment after I woke up which I haven't had before.Dr. Daniel Duggan, my surgeon, is a phenomenal doctor. He wanted to go through every avenue before considering surgery which is unheard-of in my experience. Most doctors i have met only want to make money off injections and such, but he recognizes the issues and puts a plan together for the possibility of rehabilitating the injury. He knows what he's doing, he knows what works, and he gets it done. He's the reason why my mom is even able to walk again and he's the perfect doctor for any knee or joint issues.I thought this surgery was going to be difficult doing alone and not having anyone I know, but I have NEVER felt so welcome. This staff went above and beyond my expectations, made me feel welcome, and took care of me and the other patients there like they were born to do it. It almost feels like a home away from home and I couldn't be more grateful than I am right now.

I just had outpatient surgery at Memorial care surgical Center in Laguna Woods. All of the staff were friendly and professional from Jessie at check-in to Amy and Dennis in recovery. Thanks to Nicole, Raeanne, Stacy, Adrian and of course Dr. Choi, the anesthesiologist and Dr. Sundine, my doctor. Thank you all for putting me at ease before and after my procedure.

I have had 2 surgeries at LAGUNA Hills Surgery Center, I absolutely love the staff there! From the moment I walked in they made me feel comfortable well taken care of!From the paperwork, to recovery, front desk, administration, nurses, anesthesiologist, and of course my doctor!I would recommend it to anyone who has to have surgery! They even made sure my husband was taken care of while he was waiting for me!!
I can't say enough about this place! My son had ankle surgery 2 weeks ago and we were in, out and back home in 4 hrs. The admitting nurse Mia and the discharge nurse were fantastic! The place is much calmer than a hospital. If you need any kind of out patient surgery done
So unfortunately this review would have been 5/5 until recently when that all changed. I had surgery here back in January and was billed $1600 and the nicest receptionist lady Sarah, assured me I would not be charged anything else from the surgical center but would be charged from other services. I had a great experience and was really happy. After a few months I received an additional bill for $1500 and all anyone can tell me is that Sarah doesn't work there anymore so they can't help me. I understand my insurance may not have covered something, which they often do but why would they have been so eager to assure me they wouldn't. I feel completely lied to that they would assure me they wouldn't bill me and then they do and don't try at all to help, they just tell me sorry the women who filled out your paperwork isn't here and therefore we're stuck. The people and staff are great. Just be aware that what they tell you going into your surgery is just customer service fluff to make you feel good but after you are out of their care they don't want to help at all.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
