Peter Dangvu Md's Online Review Report Card

This review is for the staff. First, they didn't know how to verify my insurance. They said it was "inactive" because the group number is incorrect. We get to the office and the person at the front said that when they tried verifying, it had a different health plan's name which they don't take. Makes zero sense, right? I tell them, the health plan they found was my employer. They nearly turned us away because of this stupid error. How difficult is it to verify insurance? You literally go online. The group number is the employer!! Second, the person at the front violated HIPAA in speaking publicly for the reasons of the visit. So I reprimand him. Still deciding if I should go to high level leadership about this. Retraining is definite necessity.

Dr Dangvu has been our family doctor for msny years from his time a a HOAG Clinic thru his private practice/ then back to HOAG - then to Laguna Woods. He has consistently provided accurate and decisive diagnosis of health issues and appropriate medical care . I'm not sure why there are any reviews that say differently unless they were upset about HOAG and not Dr Dangvu. i wouldn't have followed him thru 3 locations if his care of myself , my wife and our 3 kids wasn't GREAT!!

Dr Dangvu is an excellent Doctor who genuinely listens and truly hears what you have to say or what your concerns are. He always puts his patients and their health first. I drive 40 minutes to see him because of these reasons.

Dr. Dangvu has been my physician for years. He is unbelievably interested in me as a patient and his candid advice and dedicated care is rare in today’s medical environment. I can’t recommend him enough!

After being a patient and a family friend for a long while I was never given notice of his office switching locations! I never even knew for the longest time! Luckily my family and i were able to find someone else to refill my perceptions as he just stopped contact. It's unfortunate that he never considered to let me know as he was really Convenient to go in and get out without having to worry about him caring too much or asking to many questions. although now I know it's probably good to have a doctor ask questions

My mother visited him for 5 years about an arm and leg tingling issue that eventually affected her day to day life. After a single MRI done during year one of the issue, Dangvu brushed it off as a hormonal issue related to menopause and offered no solutions. Well, 5 years later, and still no answers, my mom ...

Dr. DANGVU is very conversational and easy to talk to. However, he’s not a real go-getter. My mother visited him for 5 years about an arm and leg tingling issue that eventually affected her day to day life. After a single MRI done during year one of the issue, Dangvu brushed it off as a hormonal issue related to menopause and offered no solutions. Well, 5 years later, and still no answers, my mom found her way to the ER after an extensive arm/leg “tingling issue” one day. An MRI revealed she had a brain tumor. I understand tumors grow and perhaps it was not visible 5 years ago, but there was very little “gumption” from him to figure out what the problem was. Encouraging yearly MRIs or doing research on her issue might have resulted in the tumor being caught sooner. A doctors main goal should be to help their patients - sometimes this means cracking open the textbooks and digging deeper for them. I would have liked to have seen this kind of “let’s solve this” attitude from him.
