Robert Montgomery's Online Review Report Card

Yesterday, 04.21.2021, was my second time meeting Dr. Montgomery regarding an upcoming full knee replacement surgery. He listened to me and 'dug a little deeper' on past x-rays from a partial knee replacement that has never felt right to me (Dr Montgomery did NOT do the partial replacement surgery). I am closer to my decision to go ahead with a second surgery, hesitation is that this is a major surgery and falls on the patient for the long recovery. Pretty wiped out from the initial surgery.

Dr. Montgomery is patient and knowledgeable. He has an excellent bedside manner, making you feel that you are in capable hands. He spends time with you and does not rush or bully you. I highly recommend Dr. Montgomery and SCOS. His staff is also thorough and professional.

My first time visiting this office and I am highly impressed. First, when I called to make the appointment, the woman with whom I spoke was friendly and efficient. In my experience, receptionists at doctors’ offices often act bothered and impatient. Again, my experience. She was great.The morning of my appointment, I was in and out in 35 minutes! In that time, I checked in at the front desk, gave my medical history, was X-rayed and met with Dr. Montgomery for evaluation and to discuss my X-ray results.He is very nice and thorough. He asked me a lot of questions about my issue and told me what my options are. My prescription was immediately called in and I was given an Rx for physical therapy. I highly recommend Dr. Montgomery and very his well-run office.

A very nice experience the doctor had excellent bedside manners took his time with me explained everything I felt really good leaving the office.

I saw this doctor today and was very disappointed. I have a lot going on as I have Late Stage Disseminated for Lyme disease for 25 years! The doctor asked me where I picked up Lyme (like it is so rare!). If more people were tested properly that have Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, then more people would probably be counted with Lyme disease! I am already on heavy duty pain medications Oxymorphone 10 mg. ER and Hydromorphone 4 mg. every day since 2012! In 2012, I did 8 months of pool therapy and herniated 3 discs in 1 month! And presently, I have had to change to Hydromorphone 4 mg. 3x per day instead of 1x per day to help with the severe pain with Severe Cystitis! I explained to this doctor about my severe knee pain. After he asked me to get in the table to examine me without removing my ace bandage, he then proceeded to twist me around like a pretzel! He just kept on twisting me and did not even look at my knee without my ace bandage or under my leggings to see if there was anything going on? Wow! I do not think he took my pain seriously! He really hurt me! And he did not seem to give it a second thought either! Told me I have degeneration in my knee! Like I did not already know that! Suggested I go on an antiinflammatory medication. Like I need to take one more pill! Of course I can move around! I am on heavy duty pain meds! And it still hurts! He did not really seem concerned about me. Just wanted to slap a bandaid on my already serious condition and just wanted to make his money like most western doctors! I do not even know why I bothered going! What a waste of my time and my money! Oh and it was not until I mentioned about taking glucosamine that he decided to give me a printed list of supplements. And he never looked at the paper that the receptionist asked me to fill out? I had to hand it to the medical assistant upon leaving! Dr. Montgomery did not even get to know my situation? I am so done with these kinds of quick fix doctors. They should not even have a license to practice medicine!

Dr. Robert L. Montgomery is an orthopedic surgeon in Laguna Woods, California and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area. He has been in practice for more than 20 years. Super excellent orthopedic surgeon. I had a very bad fall last year and then again this year Before the quarantine started it I was diagnosed with a broken hips so the doctor could not do the surgery because the hospitals were closed so finally I got my surgery scheduled on July 2, 2020 and I am so thankful to Dr. Montgomery for Excellent work fantastic job I am so grateful. I honestly never thought I’m gonna be able to walk again the pain was unbearable I cried myself to sleep sometimes thank God after it’s not even two weeks yet I don’t feel any pain or any uncomfortableness. I am capable of walking moving sleeping sitting everything thank you Dr. Montgomery for your great work. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you deserve 10 star 🙂🙏🏼

Doctors bedside manner is most distasteful. I waited to see him way beyond a reasonable time and when he walked in the door and saw me, without stepping a foot into the room, he immediately stated he had to get my paperwork (mind you all the xrays and notes were already in the room on the computer) and I waited over 15 minutes and he hadnt returned. His staff came in at one point and asked if he had been in to see me since they had left me in the room some time ago. I would NEVER let someone with this doctors attitude cut on me!

Dr Montgomery is an excellent,& dedicated surgeon, lacking the warm fuzzies, but matter of fact, and current. His follow ups are performed by Victoria Hansen, who is excellent, and most informative. I have had nothing but good experiences with this group, and its staff.

Diagnosis and detail were well explained. Very efficient and knowledgeable staff

I was very pleased with the outcome of my surgery but was disappointed that I had to wait so long to have it. However, I realize that it was not Dr. Montgomerys fault. Since I was released from the hospital the following morning there was not much chance to evaluate his bedside manner.
