List of Elwood Cohen's Reviews
Dr. Cohen's staff are extremely rude and I am changing doctors so I don't have to deal with their attitudes. I made an appointment, received an email requesting that I confirm the appointment, which I did. When I arrived at his office I was told that wasn't the time of my appointment and I needed to leave because he had other patients. I wasn't able to come back and asked why my appointment for the time referenced in the confirming email wasn't going to be honored and they told me they did not send the email (!!!! then who did, when it clearly came from his office) and I needed to leave or they would call security. At NO TIME did they even hint at acknowledging they made a mistake. They repeatedly claimed to not have made the mistake and stated that they didn't send the email (which I showed to them). I did not receive any kind of an apology, just rude attitudes and questions why I was at the office when I didn't have an appointment. He is no longer my Dr.
My mom disliked him so much she wouldn’t go see him, only his PA whom she loved. She waited over an hour to see him and he played with his huge computer screen and ate a sandwich during their interview! He was a terrible listener and his office staff is rude and don’t pass along messages as requested. When I called to say mom had died, the office girl didn’t ask how to spell mom’s name, only date of birth and not even a single condolence. Just hung up. Glad we no longer have to deal with him.
They make up their own rules when it comes to healthcare. They will abruptly stop giving you a medication that is dangerous to stop abruptly. They are a dangerous practice. When you voice your concern, Instead of treating you like an adult and speaking to you, they let their young unqualified staff who have literally never worked for any other office in their life "handle" the medical situations. So glad I left that practice. I never realized how terrible they were until I went somewhere else. Their mission is to treat you solely on their terms. If you have input they won't hear it and turn their back on you in the middle of a situation even if it causes you harm.
Like Dr. Cohen but hate his staff! They are very rude to patients.
Hi to Danya, Stephanie and Heidi. So some things can be off putting to the utterly sensitive as when I entered the office I was asked "Are you on a controlled substance?" What an interesting start to patient care.Given the opioid crisis, the question is appropriate. I took no offense in replying no. The waiting room/reading material were comfortable/ current. “Welcome aboard" from Dr. Cohen was melodic in action. Stay well up high!In life as in medicine rushing or invasive approaches are not efficacious over time. Like the tale of the hare vs. turtle and who is triumphant in the end? Flu shot? Cohen shines from within and is an astute listener, practicioner with a regal/most intuitive sense of knowing. תודה
I visited the office for treatment of documented skin cancer tumors that had become infected. I'd been treated for the same problem before by his great PA Dwayne and in urgent care. 5 minutes into the visit Dr. Cohen appeared to have forgotten my reason for being there. After, I called rite aid thinking he had phoned in a prescription. Nothing. I called the office expressing concern and was met with yet another screaming fit from Heidi, the office manager. She accused me of "making up" my cancer. Dr. Cohen phoned back and told me, without seeing it, that my biopsied squamous tumor was "probably a boil that needed to be lanced." I called my insurance company and filed a grievance against Heidi. I was "fired" from the practice out of reprisal. I see now they did me a favor. I'm now under the care of a competent, ethical doc with a staff free of blatant psych issues.
A local treasure. His wealth of experience is incomparable. His office staff is finally solid and personal. His PA, Dwayne, is very capable.
Great Doctor that takes time with you and is compassionate. My wife had been sick for a while and he got her to change her diet and take some what I would call, alternative medicines and it made all the difference, she like a new person. The Doc really got me to believe that a good diet make all the difference.
The doctor himself is “ok”, his front office staff are argumentative and rude. In my situation, over the phone, they made their problem MY problem and took it out on me. When I asked to speak to the doctor, they refused and told me I wouldn’t be welcome to see the doctor ever again. Fine by me, I get away from them easy! Thumbs down for this doc and his bottom of the barrel staff.
Very caring doctor

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
