NO! This doctor said I had no cartilage left in my right hip and needed replacement surgery. He said my left hip was next. Then he was unavailable for two weeks. I was in severe pain. When I called in to ask for pain relief I was told "we do not treat pain before surgery only after" My PCP would not help either because I was seeing Dr. Hopkins for my pain. Six months later my leg gave out and I was in the hospital 3 days for pain control.

He did anterior hip replacement for me, one of few doctors that does that procedure. The recovery and out come were great. He has minimal bed side manner, but that is not a requirement for me. I want someone that can do the job successfully. I am on the list for my other hip to be done. I would recommend him to anyone for anterior hip replacement.

Dr Hopkins wasn't the most vocal surgeon I have dealt with...but he handled my 2 surgeries VERY professionally! He explained how/what/why he was doing very clearly. I would most definitely have him if I needed more surgeries
