List of Richard L. Allen's Reviews
Love Dr Lori Rodriguez. Personable, knowledgable and a sweetheart. Grateful for her as my primary care Doc.
Dr. Allen is a great Dr. Always very efficient helpful & caring
This practice does not have fully digitized patient charts and tends to run behind despite a sizeable back office staff. If test results are not automatically emailed/faxed to the referrer, more often than not the staff will not notice so unless the patient supplies them one can't assume tests were reviewed. During my first physical I received a postcard stating that my labs, which I hadn't completed, were normal. During this year's physical I failed to receive results for over two months. Respectfully-worded email/voicemails were ignored. (I didn't even get a "We're working on it" until >2 months in!) Out of the blue, the office manager, Natalie, calls. Without apology or explanation, she immediately became adversarial after which I told her it was inappropriate behavior. Dr. Allen saw me several times but was too passive to address the situation personally so he instead relied on the hearsay of his retaliatory office manager —whom I had never spoken to previously — to discharge me.
I made an appointment for new patients my wife, daughter and self! Well it was a huge waste of my time! If you have active medical they wont take you! So dont bother! The staff was more then understanding and they cared alot but in the end it didn't matter i wasted 2 weeks wanting for this appointment.
Fake (i.e. apathetic); doesn’t listen to patients; disregards other medical professionals’ work/recommendations; undertreats; does not provide necessary referrals unless prompted; condescending and egotistical (more about his approach than outcome for patient), which has led to a worsening of symptoms and apprehensions about seeking further medical care in Canada. Paragon of overfunded medical incompetence within the Canadian health care system.
AMAZING, CARING Doctor, Extremely knowledgeable and always helpful and available. I feel very fortunate to have him as my personal physician for more than 25 years!
By far the worst medical service I ever seen provided. Entire doctor office cares nothing about patient care except getting extra money from you or insurance company anyway it can. They almost never answer phone return messages faxes or any inquiries whatsoever. Every month have problems with them not refilling my medications on time or correct dosages. Run out of blood pressure and insulin every month with no concern to my health whatsoever. Every month have to personally drive over there at least once after having none of my calls or messages returned. Then after talking to nurse or Dr who assures me they will send my prescriptions over right away it usually takes 2-7 days of me going back and forth from pharmacy to Dr office trying to get filled. The pharmacy will fax and call them multiple times everyday to no response from Dr office. After making multiple trips over multiple days my prescriptions will be filled with almost everytime the wrong dosages with no re fills. Im currently on 7 medicationd which they make me make 7 individual appointments to get each one prescribed so they can charge me for the most visits as possible. They leave me without vital medications to my health for days at a time every month with no regard to my personal health or safety. I will be reporting office to the medical board. There are countless other problems with all drs at this practice I just dont have time to right a novel about them. If this wasn't the only office my medical referred me too I would go anywhere else. This office is a travesty to the medical profession and all drs nurses and staff should be ashamed. I would suggest no one to book appointment here unless you have a death wish.
Incredible doctor, always helpful and available even at this difficult times, my family and I are grateful to have him as our family doctor for more than 15 years
If only Dr. Allen practiced ANYWHERE else. That office is a zoo and a total joke. It's hard to write a decent review for fear that people will go to that office. Dr. Allen is great. Kind, compassionate, if a little soft-spoken for what I prefer in my healthcare provider but a good doctor. But please, as long as he is practicing at AV Pediatrics, Family.... whatever it's called, do yourself a favor and pick someone else. They are awful. Appointment times mean nothing. Our entire family were patients for probably 4 or so years (maybe longer) and never once in that time did we wait less than an hour for an appointment. And billing- oh my goodness- that was a hot mess! They just want you to pay cash. Didn't matter if you have insurance. So pray Dr. Allen goes someplace else. I'd go see him again.
I cannot day enough good things about this doctor. He is extremely thorough. Never rushes you out the door. Always explains things and takes his time to make sure he explained everything to you and is very clear. He listens to everything you have to say and asks the right questions. You can tell he really cares about his paitients and is passionate about what he does. The staff here are amazing and always on the ball . During Covid he is alway every dedicated. I will call the office to leave a message for him to call back when I had an issue and he called me that same day maybe an hour or a bit later!! Incredible person and human being. This is a real doctor and how all doctors should be.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
