Poor attention to marin community clinic patient referral. After waiting over a year i was met with an unwelcoming assistant and a doctor that will do me a favor and see me anyway. I left numerous messages to prepare and not one call back. to assistant and fulfilling all of Dr Su imaging he asked for . Big waste of months getting images just to be turned away t like you were an uninvited guest. He said shot might take away symptoms . He only takes surgery patients but he's the only one assigned to MCC. Made no sense.
While Dr Su did not operate on me he was the first surgeon that helped me realize a) I had not fused and b) my 1st cervical spine surgery was inappropriate for me. I had an ADR at C5-c7 and became completely miserable bc I had arthritis in my facet joints. While the surgery is fine for most it’s not a one size fits all approach. My 2nd surgery meant to fix the first never fused - pseudoarhosis - and ISpent a year with a pain management specialist who failed to pick up on that. Right now I am trying pain management with Dr Sponzilli who is amazing but may need a posterior laminectomy down the road . Dr Su is very conservative which is an attribute to him as a surgeon. Thank you, Cal Ortho
I am a neuroscientist living in San Francicso and had a complex problem with my cervical spine. I consulted five highly regarded specialists who differed as to whether I needed surgery now and also what surgery should be done. Dr. Su’s clear, detailed explanation of the surgery stood out. He advised me to wait. Fast forward 3 years and my symptoms increased slightly. Dr. Su said that I could have surgery now or continue to watch it. Although I was apprehensive about lingering postsurgical pain, I opted to do it. To my delight, I was able to stop pain medications and go for long walks within a week. At 12 weeks postop, I have no residual pain, none, and have no impairment of my head movement. I attribute this remarkable recovery to Dr. Su’s superb skill. Uniquely among the surgeons I know of, Dr. Su does follow-ups for a year. He has an informal friendly manner and gives each surgery patient his cell number. His support staff is excellent. I feel fortunate to have gone to him for help.

Just played my first 18 holes in a year and 9 months post complicated L5-S1 fusion and a double segment laminectomy. Shot 86 from the Champions tees at Hualalai, the Big Island. Thank you Dr Su.
Dr. Su did frontal spinal surgery on me to relieve horrible pain from a pinched nerve. He urged me to try other solutions before surgery, he is an excellent communicator and skillfully performed the surgery.
Coming up on my 1 year anniversary of the Laminectomy performed by Dr. Su. I could not express how much Dr. Su has done for me and the perfection with which he met every expectation and more. I have walked bent over for so many years and now am able to walk upright and straight. No longer any pain in the back, hips, sciatic nerves, can walk miles at a time and beginning to jog again. I remember wen he said "I can fix that!" after two implants and years of injections I had some doubts. To say that this man and his team are miracle workers is an understatement. I walked upright from the morning of the surgery and was up and down stairs the next day and more than 20 times around the ward. All that without sedation.
Post Op...One Year!! Cycling, Golf, Slalom Skiing and more!! No question this was the best medical decision to get me back to doing ALL the activities I LOVE!!!
Dr. Su replaced two discs in my neck. The results feel miraculous and I am so very grateful to him and his PA, Chris, for their attention to my pain, and incredible medical care. I had surgery in March and was traveling in Europe in July (before 2020). Not every person is right for surgery, and Dr. Su will tell you if you are not. I trust his hands and his opinion. Thank you Dr. Su!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
