Lawndale Urgent Care's Online Review Report Card

I went because I needed to get a physical and a TB test ASAP on a Tuesday. I was recommended this place by someone else. I went in. They had me in one of the last rooms in a corner. They kept me waiting for a long time. Once the Dr finally came, he ordered the tb test to be performed and said that he couldn't sign the form until the test results came out. That was fine. Then, he told me that if the test came out negative, he didn't have to see me for the form to be signed, which later I learned was a LIE because the physician had to have you perform a series is simple tasks to be able to fill the form. The room I was in didn't even have proper lighting and the nurse had to use her phone's light to be able to inject the liquid on my arm. Touching her cell phone after she already had her gloves on which is not even sanitary. They charged me $200 for a form that they hadn't even filled yet. I found it strange but I paid anyway. When I read the paper they gave me for the day to come back, the date was 3-4 days later and since I've had to get this test before, I know it's supposed to be done in 48-72hrs. So I brought this to their attention and then they noticed and changed it. VERY UNORGANIZED. Then, I returned on Thursday for the reading and to get my form filled. When I arrived, they told me that physician wasn't there until Sunday, which was something he never told me (I understand it was Dr Mergetz). I told them that the Dr told me that if the tb test was negative he didn't have to be there and they said that was not true and tried to get me to come back on Sunday. I said absolutely no, that the only reason I paid out of pocket was to get the document filled in a quick manner and if not then I wanted my money back because none of that was explained to me the day I came and paid for a service that had not even been given to me yet. It is then that the nurse went in and talked to Dr Larson was kind of enough to see me and fill the form for me without charging anything even though I was not her patient. She was very kind and nice but honestly it was a very bad experience. I don't think I will be coming here or recommending it to anybody. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because Dr Larson was really nice.

Its really nice to go to a place you have never been especially when you are in Soo much pain to be treated with warm welcome from such caring staff who made me feel so safe from the moment we got there til the end. Thank you to the NP Lindsay Larson for going above and beyond and treating me more then what insurance I had. Thank you to Liz and Monica in front desk for your amazing customer service and to Dulce for being so informative and so kind she ROCKS! Thanks for taking care of me I wish all places are like this such amazing people and positive energy. So grateful we literally live down the street!

The ladies at the front desk and all the staff are just really awesome. Very informative and always ready to help you with any concern you may have. This is my third time dealing with their office and it's always been a positive experience. Keep up the good work!

The waiting times and communications are terrible. They completely wasted my time. They do not take appointments but walkins can be helpful for urgent matters. After being told it would be 40 minute wait... I've been waiting for 2 hours just to go in the back. After leaving to get food, I was called that "they are ready" and now I've been waiting for another 30 minutes.This is just for a COVID rapid and PCR test. They don't mention that if you use insurance you can't get your test immediately since you need to wait for a "provider/ doctor". Seems like there is only one doctor for the location.Absolutely do not waste your your time. The people may be nice enough but the business is not run efficiently at all.Being busy is not an excuse for inefficient customer service.

My daughter was given an exam and was told by the doctor that an additional test was needed and that he would waive the $50 dollar fee. My daughter called two days later because they did not call with results and was told they would not send the test unless she paid. We would of paid two days ago to get the test going but the doctor told her not to worry he would waive it now they are hanging the test over our heads for a stupid $50 dollars do not go here !!!! Dont waste your time !!!!!!

I visited during Covid. I appreciated their safety protocols. Monica at the front desk was amazing! I called before hand and she answered on the second ring and was super helpful. She was just as pleasant and helpful when I arrived at the office. My entire visit from check in to check out took about an hour and was really efficient. Dr. Lauren was super nice and helpful as well. All around awesome experience, pleasant staff, and highly recommend!!

Incredibly friendly and understanding staff. Its a difficult time for everybody and they're very accommodating for it.

Monica and Crystal were awesome. I needed a flu shot in a pinch for school and they not only accomodated me quickly but worked to try and get my care authorized by the VA through Tri care. And additionally they went out of their way to make sure i had the right paperwork for school. Thank you!!!!

Called at 5:18 pm today and some young lady answered the phone and i asked her if they take L.A. care direct, and she said" i have to look at your medical card first"(wtf). And then i asked her if there was any information i could give her from MY card to indicate if they accepted L.A. care direct, and she very rudely said "we dont  take information over the phone" (SMH).... I dont know what planet you live on but i have never had to drive to a urgent care first to see if the take my insurance..... stop hiring these kids that dont know shit!!!
