Lorena Tan's Online Review Report Card

After my primary care physician left her practice a few years back, Ive been looking for a new doctor. It was getting to the point Urgent Care was my primary and I really needed someone to look after my medical needs.I tried the doctor my previous one recommended, but with my chemical sensitivity I reacted to her perfume and couldnt go back. I then found someone I really liked, but it was the last day that office was open.. so, finally, I found Dr. Tan. I am very happy with her.Ive seen her a few times over the last couple years now for cellulitis infections, bloodwork and other routine stuff. Yes, the visits are brief, but she is very thorough and kind.I recently went in with a lump in my hand worried for the worst, but ends up just a cyst. I felt very safe during COVID times, being the only person in the waiting area and the no other patients when taken back to an exam room. I think because of COVID, patients are spaced out much more now and I was able to chat for over 15 minutes with Dr. Tan about whether getting the COVID vaccine was a good idea at this time. Normally I like to get in and out, but her time and attention was appreciated and very helpful.I feel if I needed tests or anything else of concern, Dr. Tan would make sure I received the proper care and/or referral necessary. The front desk was friendly both on the phone making my appointment and in person.

I don't know what they teach at UCLA med school but it's not how to be a good doctor. Office staff highly disorganized, messed up my work doctor's note two times, my consultation with Dr.Tan only lasted 5 minutes without exaggeration and she sent me home without anything because "my insurance probably wouldn't have covered it anyways". In order to even speak to Dr. Tan and ask her questions I had to call back and forth between her receptionist who would "leave a message for her" with every single follow-up question I had. And Dr. Tan wouldn't even call me back personally, it was the receptionist. When I went to my school's clinic I was given a brace, crutches and instructions on how to care for my injury and how to start doing exercises to rehabilitate it. Literally all Dr. Tan did was give me test results and told me to ice, and it was difficult to even receive that from her.

Poor attendance quality, she only spend 2 minutes, asked what I was feeling and prepared the prescription. No attention. I not recommend!

This is my second time been a patient here due to military changes this was my closes dr to see so I am pregnant and this dr was very rude the front people are too , I call to have the phone number of the dr they recommend me because I lost it and they gave me this answers. We don’t have to know to have to find it your self , is they send me here and they don’t have it or just don’t have time to have it to me they should be more polite by the way they are very rude ...just rude.

I am a very nervous person when it comes to finding a new doctor and going to a new place I haven't been. Making a appointment was fast and easy. Staff was friendly and understanding. They made me feel welcome and relaxed. Doctor Tan was friendly and she listened to every question and concern I had. I loved her willingness to explain and brake things down. So far I can't see myself going anywhere else.

Ive been seeing Dr. Tan for a 6 years and to your face she is a very sweet and friendly doctor. I always thought that,  but in the last few years Ive noticed a decline in her abilities to follow through on pharmaceutical medication, if you need prior authorization she will not call your insurance its to much work for her it took me calling her weekly for her to do it, She will also call you to tell you to come in to give you your results just so she can collect the copayment.. (if the results are great then just say that!)she will never turn anyone away which sounds good, but then doesnt give you appropriate time to ask questions and if your lucky enough to ask a question she talks so fast you dont quit understand what she said or meant.. Ive decided that I will be looking for a new doctor that makes me feel like I matter and Im not just there to make her money..

Dr. Tan is a wonderful doctor. I am always able to get an appt. in a very short time. She always is very responsive.  I cannot say enough about her.   I have referred several people that are very satisfied with her services.  If you want a doctor that is lethargic and sits and gabs, Dr. Tan is not your gal. She listens intently and always has a solution or test....no waiting months!  Dr. Tan is fiercely caring of her patients and their good health.  I always feel very secure as her patient knoowing she sincerely cares. Dr. Tans office dispenses Z packs so when I am sick I dont have to wait in  pharmacy lines.

Great Doctor and polite and professional front desk staff.  Dr Tan was very attentive and it appeared that she genuinely cared about my wellbeing.  She listened when I had something to say and that in this day and age of insurance company Dr to patient allotted treatment really meant a lot.  Im definitely going to choose her as my primary care doc!

Came in with a concern a few months back about my fear of flying and Dr.Tan could really care less. Brushed it off and told me I  would be fine. Didnt know doctors could cure your anxiety with their words. Didnt even refer me to a psychiatrist to further discuss my fear or had any sympathy whats so ever. If you want a doctor to actually listen to your needs and concerns I recommend you try any other doctor.
