List of MIndy Buoncristiani's Reviews
Probably the worst dentist experience I've ever had. She made me wait over 1.5hrs in the dentist chair without letting me know she was running late. Finally after of 90 mins of waiting she came in a numbed me. It then took ~1hr for her to come back in. No acknowledgment about the delay. The anesthetic started to wear off. She started working on me while chatting with her assistance about nonsense. I was so irritated. Absolutely no "chair side" manners. I will never return to her.
This woman is the best endodontist on the planet! Very professional, and my goodness does she know her stuff. I had a root canal done by her today and other than the injections for local anesthesia it was painless. When the anesthesia wore off after the procedure I felt no pain whatsoever. She moves quickly and deliberately with obvious great skill and knowledge. Her assistant Crystal was also excellent and worked with Dr. Mindy with great precision. If you need a root canal or any other endodontic procedure, I could not recommend her more highly. Quite seriously, some of these other critical reviews are a bunch of baloney in my opinion.
PLEASE do not allow this dentist to perform any work on you. I had such a traumatic experience while being treated by her. Not only did i have to wait over 2 hours to be seen for my apt but when I was taken to the back to get started I realized she is working on multiple patients at the same time. The worst part of this was when she injected the anesthesia, i had never experience any pain when getting anesthesia until I was in her care. It was SO PAINFUL, she had no empathy and I agree with the other reviews she was rude & didn't introduce herself, tell me about the procedure or post op instructions her assistant did. When I asked questions about the procedure she did answered with attitude & like i was wasting her time. Worst experience ever.
My overall root canal experience with Dr. Mindy was excellent, but it did not begin well. I was scheduled to have 2 root canal procedures, but due to office circustances beyond Dr. Mindy's control she was not able to successfully finish either one on my first visit with her. I was very upset but Dr. Mindy spent a lot of time explaining what had happened, how my dental situation was better than it was when I came in, and that she would rearrange her schedule to enable completion of the procedures as soon as possible.Scheduling was difficult because Dr. Mindy works in different Bay Area offices throughout each month, and she needed to coordinate with another dentist who would do the necessary crown work. I felt that Dr. Mindy was very honest, sincere and committed to meeting my needs. She helped arrange a time for herself and the crown dentist to be both available outside their normal schedules. Beginning at 7 AM on the appointed day, the procedures went very smoothly. Within three hours, I had two successful root canal procedures and the installation of two new crowns.
I came in for a root canal procedure three weeks after I had a consultation with Dr. Buoncristiani. The day of the procedure Dr. Buoncristiani, whom I did not recognize with her mask on, and who did not introduce herself (!), entered the room and gave me four shots of anesthesia. Her assistant told me I should wait about 15 minutes for the anesthesia to work. I then waited over one hour on the dentist's chair. As I was sitting in the dentist's room, the doctor went in and out of the room without explaining what was going on or introducing herself. Later I discovered she was treating several patients all at once, leaving me in the chair while attending the others. After one hour, the assistant decided I needed more anesthesia, and Dr. Buoncristiani came in again and gave me two more shots, one of them right in the nerve, which was very painful. I still feel this pain even today, two days after the shots were given. After another at least 15 minutes, the assistant returned and decided I need a third round of shots. At this point, it was almost two hours after the time of appointment. I already got 6 shots, and for all I knew haven't even met the doctor who was going to do the procedure. There was no one in the room with me; I got up to call them and advocate for myself, asking to see the doctor and start the procedure. Only then I found out that the person who gave the injections is Dr. Buoncristiani. The doctor and her assistant claimed that there was a delay due to other emergencies, but that cannot be an excuse for giving me multiple shots and leaving me in a closed room with NO windows on the dentist's chair for so long, just so that more shots would be required. Dr. Buoncristiani was rude and told me that since I am agitated, she will not be performing the procedures.Dr. Buoncristiani's behavior was very unprofessional. I would not expect such behavior from any service provider, let alone when a medical issue is involved. Dr. Buoncristiani should have introduced herself and maybe even suggested postponing the procedure if she knows that there is going to be a delay, not just keep giving me shots that made me feel sick and let me wait on the dentist's chair.I left the clinic after wasting more than two hours, with half my mouth and tongue numb from anesthesia, tired and upset, feeling humiliated. I still feel the pain from one of the shots, and I have a cut in my gums from a device that the assistant tried to place in my mouth.I should have listened to the reviews on yelp before I came to Dr. Buoncristiani, I just wanted to believe that they might be wrong. Well, they are not.
I had a root canal done by this dentist. I found her to be curt, rude, and generally non communicative about any aspect of my procedure. It was done rapidly because they were running behind and I was insulted by her demeanor. I explained that I could not take ibuprofen and was concerned about pain control. Her assistant told me she can't give narcotics and to take Tylenol. Well, I was in pain for about 8 days after that procedure. I would steer very clear of this dentist as she will not treat you in a professional manner.
This woman & her assistant need to be stopped from performing such procedures! I wish I had read reviews about her prior to my root canal. Neither women have any compassion whatsoever during the procedure for pain or fear. She shuts off the air and laughing gas during the procedure to intentionally cause you pain & make if difficult to breathe when you are already feeling suffocated by your mouth remaining pried open for the entire duration of the procedure. She stops, leaves the room with instruments in your mouth several times during the procedure. Her assistant talks ghetto, listens to her music on her phone & sings during the procedure and acts like she can't hear you when you're trying to say you're in pain! Both are unprofessional, exposes you to more radiation due to her lack of taking x-rays properly. I am considering a malpractice lawsuit for how I was treated and how I continue to be in pain both physically and now mentally from how they treated me. Absolutely not ok!! DO NOT HAVE HER PERFORM A ROOT CANAL ON YOU, you will regret it!!Also, please note this women doesn't just work in one office, she works in multiple throughout the month, so she could be anywhere.
I had a root canal FIVE days ago by Dr. Mindy and I have to say she is THE WORST dentist I've ever seen!!!!The only pain I had prior to this root canal was a little pressure in my head but nothing painful, however since the root canal I have been in EXCRUCIATING pain! FOR 5 DAYS!!I've had 2 other root canals before with a different dentist and I never had any pain afterwards once the numbing medication wore off but this time was completely the opposite. This woman definitely needs more medical training and is by far one of THE ABSOLUTE WORST dentists I have ever been to.I do not like taking medication but I have been taking 1000 mgs of ibuprofen every 3-4 hrs just to keep the pain at bay. I am angry and disgusted with Dr. Mindy and I seriously believe she is in the wrong profession.Unless you are a fan of excruciating pain I highly recommend going to another endodontist.I was referred by my dentist which sucks bc now I question my dentists decisions if THIS is the endodontist she recommends.Save yourself time, money, and pain and go elsewhere.
Referred to Dr. Mindy Buoncristiani at Nut Tree Smiles by my dentist for a root canal consult. My experience was very good. She dispelled any anxiety I had when I met with her and she worked me in her schedule for the root canal work that day. I had a lot of confidence in her while she was working on my tooth - she was very gentle and soothing by her relaxed manner and I experienced very minimal discomfort afterward. Dr. Mindy also followed up with a phone call to see how I was doing. I had root canals done before by another dentist a few years back and therefore was expecting a similar very uncomfortable experience but I was very pleasantly surprised this time! I would very highly recommend Dr. Mindy if you are looking for a root canal specialist.
