Worst practice ever. Gave me the wrong diagnosis over the phone, held up additional testing that landed me in the ER for a second time. They also leave messages on vms on follow up tests that are inaccurate after I was discharged, had surgery and now on chemo. Horrible patient care.
I cant speak for the doctors but their receptionist staff was not helpful at all! I have an EPO that works as a PPO and tried to make an appointment as a new paitient. The first call I had she said that they took PPO and not EPO. So I said thank you and hung up. I then checked my insurance plan and it said Long Beach Gastro Associates is IN NETWORK, so I called back and asked there was a way that she can check on her end because my insurance says they are IN NETWORK. All she said was We take PPO not EPO I said that its funny because I have been to some offices that do not take EPO and only PPO and they have accepted my insurance so if she could please check she again said We take PPO not EPO. Do not bother, as they do not do their due diligence to really make sure you are covered to see their doctors.
Entire experience was exceptional. Good support staff and Dr G was very thorough with blood tests and exam. Highly recommend. Am sending family members to same doctor.
I already know that GIs tend to overthink their ability to care or do their job. I have only seen ONE (he is in Torrance and I adore him. Amazing dude) that knows what the hell he is talking about. I had hope with dr petal. I really did. Then, because my colon has been abused after a young, very inexperienced GI over medicated me AFTER I survived trauma, she just couldnt help me. Washed her hands of me. I was forced to leave CA as a result of what these kid doctors did me. My entire life is ruined from this. When I had met with dr P, I really loved her. I thought she would help me, hear me. Nope. I was told that since I am not working, I can spend all my time getting help. Are you serious?? This is all i have done for years. I want my life back. Now, that is totally gone. Doctors are a joke now. They only care about money. They only protect themselves and treat based on a text book. I am being punished for what another doc did to me. This is disguising. I loved my body and my life before this. Now I have to do colon preps all the time. If you are going to protect someone, it should be the patient.
Had an consult and then doctor said nurse would call me to schedule appointment. No call ever came. I called three times and was told each time someone would call me back but no call ever came. This place is a disaster. Stay away.
Doesn’t see you as a person only as a number
Tried calling to book last week, no one answered so I left a message. Never got a return call. Tried again today, finally got someone but appointments are 2 months out which is not very helpful.
Stay away from this place! I was having horrible pain for a week and they did not have anything available until two weeks later. I decided to just settle with it and did not research enough. Comes the day of my VIRTUAL appointment I tell the doctor my symptoms and all he said was I'm going to have the nurse schedule a colonoscopy and endoscopy but because you're so young and healthy you should just drink plenty of water and take Metamucil and you'l be feeling better within a week. Completely disregarding how I felt, the whole thing just felt so cold and careless. A week later I get a call on a Monday from the "nurse" but because I was at work I missed the call and she left a voicemail to call back which I did the same day and I was told that she had gone to lunch and they would leave a message with her. I thought ok I should be receiving a call back soon. Did I? NO. Comes Wednesday I call again and was told "she's away from her desk at the moment she'll call you back later" and I said well that's the same I was told on Monday and I never received a call and the person said well she has your message she'll get back to you. WELL ok then I wait and wait a week later STILL NO CALL so I decide to try one more time a week later on Monday and AGAIN she's "away from her desk" well isn't that pretty damn inconvenient?! When is she actually at her desk then? Clearly they don't care about their patients and I'm so glad that I never got a call back from this office because I found a doctor at Digestive Disease Consultants of Orange County who actually cares about her patients and has began treating me immediately!!
I had a colonoscopy and the care and efficiency of Long Beach Gastroenterology from receptionist, nurses and doctors was exceptional! Dr Yao was there before the procedure inquiring how I was feeling, again just before the procedure and after with the results! The anesthesiologist was cheerful, informative again before and after the procedure and the nurses were caring, their calming attitude helped me feel reassured from the moment I entered the surgical area to the time they wheeled me out to my husbands car!
Stay away from the shysters here at Long Beach. They did nothing to help and they continue to submit charges. If you do take their tests they will not let you know what the results are but you'll certainly be contacted regarding the charge!
They will not answer your calls and they will continue to send threatening letters trying to collect the debt to pay for the Doctors lifestyle.
Even with full health insurance I'm still getting bills from them a year later! This place is exactly what is wrong with the medical industry today.
Dr. Reddy have. Web my doctor over a decade. I have endometriosis and she has helped throughout the years to manage my symptoms and pain. She started conservatively until I had to have surgery to help this condition. After the surgery it helped the pain issues I was having.

Plus I must mention the staff. Katie is an amazing front office clerk. She has an amazing memory and is o sweet. I don't know the rest of the staff but they all have been wonderful.
Never had a good experience with these guys. From my first appointment here I was undermined and not listened to by the specialist. Told to have a procedure without any GOOD reason, and then had no results from the procedure (shocking). Then was told to do the banding process (why was I not offered this first?). The only reason I have two stars is because the gentleman who did my banding was rather informative (unlike everyone else in that building). Then I had the WORST experience with the billing department being told one thing and then getting mailed another and having to contact the billing department (who by the way is VERY rude and takes forever to contact). I do NOT recommend LBG for your speciality needs.

This post is long overdue. Please do not seek services at this facility. My mom saw Dr. Zamost last year after experiencing an upset stomach that would not go away. After a quick verbal exam, he diagnosed her with possible irritable bowel syndrome that was in her head possibly due to anxiety. She went home and the stomach pain did not subside. After months of bouts of diarrhea and occasional vomiting she went back for another visit. This time she asked for a colonoscopy or any diagnostic test, which he said was ridiculous since again he thought it was in her head. He sent her to a psychologist instead. She went to the psych thinking well maybe it is in her head and the symptoms only worsened. A month later she could barely eat anything and I took her to the ER. She was diagnosed with stage IIIb colon cancer. She also had a hernia in her colon which was exacerbating her symptoms. The ER doc said if she waited any longer, because of the hernia, which was strangulating her colon she would not survive. She contacted the doctors office after her long hospital stay and subsequent chemo treatments. Dr. Zamost did not apologize and instead said she seemed nervous at her appointment and therefore he took it as anxiety vs. a real gastro medical condition. This doctor should not be still practicing. Please do not visit this place.
I'm not quite sure what's going on at LBG, no one will pickup the phone to schedule an appointment. I have to get a colonoscopy for a genetic cancer risk, I left them a voicemail and faxed them my genetic testing results. Still, no one has returned my calls. You'd think "genetic cancer risk" would prompt a quick return call. I'm very disappointed because Dr. Kerekes is really good.
I had a colonoscopy a few months ago with Dr. Patel, and she was nice.

However the billing assistant Etsy (spelling?) was very rude when I called the office for the billing questions. She wouldn't listen to me nor let me talk. The way she talked was pretty aggressive. She had no customer service skills whatsoever.. she should learn how to treat her patients with respect. While I liked Dr. Patel, talking with Etsy made me think twice if I should go back to Dr. Patel in the future.

Too bad somebody like her would damage the reputation of a good medical practice, but generally speaking the issues with the billing department seem to be the biggest complaint with many practices.
I am a patient and so is my husband. We are very satisfied with the doctors and their nurses. It is the office staff that answers the phone that are incompetent and don't care.

We had called to reschedule an appointment and left a message for the nurse. We waited for over a 11/2 and call back because we didn't hear anything. The staff that answers the phone says there's no record of it. The lady doesn't not apologize and says there's nothing she can do about it now. Not very customer service orientated.
Overall I was very satisfied with my experience here. Dr. Goshtasbi and the staff were friendly and professional. The only concern was when I call the office the hold wait time was sometimes long.
Very nice facility, staff are all very professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Kerekes.
When Dr Gostashbi (I’ll refer to him as G) diagnosed me with PBC he stated, “In the 20 years of my experience, I’ve never had a patient like you”. That should have been my red light but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. There are a few issues I had with this Dr., however, the one that gave me no other choice to sever ties with him was I told him at past appointments that something wasn’t right with me. I was not sleeping at night, couldn’t concentrate at work, foggy brain, said things that weren’t making sense, dropping things for no reason, but above all else dozing off at the wheel. I drive 35 mikes to and from work and almost crashed 2xs. As I further continued doing my own research, I dicovered the condition that was causing all of this: Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE). It was a week before the Dr called me and said I needed to go to ER because of very high bilirubin in my blood. It was then that I asked him f he had ever heard of HE and he said why do you ask? I told him was 99% sure I had this and I said. Told you months ago and you never did anything about it. He said I definitely had it and I can no longer drive. Are you kidding me!!!! And then I asked him at another appointment if there was any special diet I should be on and he said no. I said well when I was in the hospital, they had me on a low sodium diet. He then said, oh yes stay away from salt and bybthe way...don’t eat raw fish, sushi, oysters etc. it’s not good for me due to high mercury. Well now what if I loved sushi and ate it every day for the past 10 months? SMH! Dr. G in my opinion should not be in the profession he is in when it comes to rare liver disease. I felt he did NOT have m best interest at heart and I was just a number to him. I took it upon myself to seek other professional Drs and am truly blessed that UCLA is inNetwork and have already started the process of getting me on the donor list. If you have a MELD score >10, don’t wait. Look into further treatment right away. I was at 18 and Dr G still was “waiting”. For what!! Nobody else is going to take care of me but me, and I am so happy I made this move. This could have been a life saving decision on my part. I never ever have given a professional review on anybody. However, this horrible experience was worth every single second I put into writing this review. It could be I save someone else’s life. Best to you if you are suffering from any health issues and may God bless you and get you thru it...
