Dr Viswanathan took time to answer all questions and concerns. She is direct and to the point. She picked a medication for my Diabetes that brought my A1c from11.3 to 6.8 in Record breaking time. I feel so blessed to have her as my doctor. All the staff are polite and kind. I was sent to a Gastroenterologist Which I was not confident with and asked for a second opinion she did not hesitate to get me another Doctor, which I’m very happy with. I would highly recommend Dr. Kanchana Viswanathan!

Nothing went well. Office, staff and the building needs to be replaced.

I went in for suspected Hyperparathyroidism. When I brought in my test results, she barely read them. As my boyfriend and I were in the office, he started jerking around. I was alarmed when, twice, he had a trail of ants crawling on his arm. We mentioned it to her and she didnt even react or acknowledge it. This is something that I would apologize for and immediately look around for the problem, offer to move him as they looked, etc. Overall, this was a terrible experience.

Dr Berksons office is really becoming a great office. New, happy and friendly staff that really care about the patients!!!!!!I always leave with a smile on my face and a feeling of encouragement. And even if I have to see one of his associates like Dr V or Dr M, I still know I am in good hands because they all know their stuff!!Who cares that the office isnt fancy, the medical care is top notch. My favorite thing about the office is the new call back policy. If I leave a message before 4 pm I get a call back the same day!!
Tried to make a new patient appointment. Couldnt do so because I had to have my doctor fax the referral over with labs and all the reasons why I was referred in the first place. I gave them the referral number to look up online (which has the codes for the referral) and she said the person who looks those up wasnt in so they couldnt schedule an appointment until she had everything. How am I supposed to know she has everything, together in one space and get an appointment before the referral expires? Extremely unorganized office. Changed to another doctor. Cant trust a doctor who cant manage a phone call.
the office isnt much to look at and I had a hard time getting thru on the phone, but the staff was really nice and accomadating. they made me feel at home. I was referred by a friend who has been a long time patient. She says the staff are new and much better than the old staff. The doctors really are great doctors. o even though its not much to look at, i will definitely come back. I am very happy with my care and the attentiveness of the doctor and staff.
OK so let me start with the fact that i had to go to this office because of my insurance. I wasnt happy about going so far. And then I checked the reviews and thought Ok the patients either love them or hate them. There is no in between I crossed my fingers and called. The girl who answered said I needed a referral. I told her the primary doctor said he sent it. She put me on hold for a bit, but kept coming back to let me know she hadnt forgotten about me. It turned out when she couldnt find my referral she took it upon herself to call my primary doctor and had them fax it right then and there. (remind me to write a nice review on my primary doctor for that )Appointment was made and they were even nice enough to email me the forms so I could fill them out ahead of time. They explained that the office looks like a bungalo (sp*) house. And it did. they also explained the parking, which luckily was not a problem for me. The office was hopping busy the day i went. I guess more than one doctor was working. The staff was smiling and friendly. They made me feel like I was a long time patient. The wait was a little long but not too bad. i have had much worse. The doctor was very kind and understanding. HE reviewed my records that the staff had also gotten from my primary doctor. He explained his concerns and started me on new medicines. He also set me up for an appointment with their nutritionist and diabetes educator. Wow! For such a little place, they sure have a lot to offer. Overall, I am very happy I went despite some of these reviews I read. Although im sorry but if you have type 1 diabetes, you should know better than to let yourself get even close to running out of insulin, thats your own darn fault people. Diabetes is no joke. Placing the blame on an office because you run out of medicine is like placing the blame on the gas station for running out of gas. Ok so anyway, I totally recommend the office.
Lacks time management so appointments are rushed. She appears to be arrogant and her opinion is the only one that matters, regardless of what your health history indicates from other well respected physicians. Doesn’t listen well enough and makes snap assessments and judgements.

Horrible. Staff chats with each other not regarding medical gossiping. Stood at window for 3 minutes before staff decided to stop talking and acknowledge patient was waiting for assistance. Inferior communication. Had blood work done, received results from lab which were abnormal never received communication from doctor to let me know why, and what needs to be done. Called 8 times no return call. Complete waste of time. I am requesting change of doctor completely

The office on Pacific Ave, Long beach is a mess. Very dirty old house in a bad neighborhood. Couple of times we had to reschedule because of a shooting and police would not let us in. The wait time is really bad, sometime over a hour and half. Staff seems to be uncertain about things and always new staff.
Dr. KANCHANA R. VISWANATHAN was very reluctant to increase my Armour medication even though I had physical hypothyroid symptoms. She would say my lab work was okay, but I felt horrible! I was severely tired all the time, my hair was extremely dry & brittle. Extreme difficulty concentrating and brain fog. I told her this each time I saw her and she never did anything. Ive done alot of research on life after a total thyroidectomy and she told me I dont need to change my diet. This is NOT true. I now have a sensitivity to carbs, gluten, & alcohol. She is very sweet and documented my concerns, but failed short in helping me. I know see a naturopathic doctor who has switched me over to Nature Throid. For anyone that has had a thyroidectomy or has thyroid issues I would recommend this site & book: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ This book has been extremely helpful in teaching me how to deal with my thyroid issues.
This doctor has bad reviews on other websites and since there is a Endocronolist shortage I didnt have much choice and had to wait months to go and I hoped for the best. Unfortunately, the bad reviews were warrented and this doctor was a waste of time and deserves worse reviews than given. This doctor does not care about you and your suffering and makes it clear she does not care what her patients have to say, she said that to my face as a matter of fact. Clearly since there is a shortage of doctors in this field this doctor feels she can do and say whatever she wants, patient suffering be damned. It really should be called the hypocrital oath in this doctors case because she is doing much harm to patients.
My prescription expired for Diabetes meds. The Doctor would not renew it until I saw her first. I could not get an appointment for 3 weeks. Rather than go without my meds, I hired another Doctor.
