Kidney Specialist
Great care. Goes the extra mile for patients.
Dr. S is an outstanding Nephrologist. He always follows up with his patients and is great about letting us know about things we need.
he's a great nephrologist he is very thorough, listens well and explains so i can understand
I don't know much about doctoring, but he seems good to me. Has always taken time to answer my questions, and his staff seem quite nice.
excellent doctor, takes his time to answer questions, his staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
This man is a jerk. He made body image jokes to a female patient about her body shape and weight, then surmised that she drank alcohol and smoked tobacco, neither of which she does. The woman was laying in a hospital bed in Saint Mary's Hospital in Long Beach, California, suffering from congestive heart failure. This man is a jerk. Do not place your trust in him.
If I could give this doctor a -10 I would! This doctor treats you like he's a robot. He goes through his routine and when you talk to him, he ignores you. I was having a stroke right in his office. I first noticed it when I arrived at the reception desk. The receptionist asked me what doctor I was there to see, and I couldn't talk. That should have been a clue for them to ask me if I was alright, but no, she just told me to have a seat. When I was in with the doctor, I was trying to speak, slurring my words and trying very hard to form each word. I said to him, "I'm not talking too well today." He didn't respond, turned to me and said he would see me in a year and walked out of the exam room. I drove home (yes I did very carefully), and a friend called me as I came in my house. He said he couldn't understand me and he was calling 9-1-1. The paramedics came, started me on an IV, and said their tests indicated I had a stroke and needed to be transported to the hospital. This doctor shouldn't be treating anyone! I wrote him an email, describing my visit to him, and he never responded. I'm not through with him yet!!!
Old school Dr. with poor bedside manners Front Desk: 4 stars. Dr. Avedik Semerjian: 0 star. He told me three times you are asking too many questions. He literally grabbed my love handles and told me to lose weight. He also wanted to order a CT scan with out looking at my ultrasound pictures first that I had sent to the clinic. He also didnt want to prescribe anything for my proteinuria and kidney stones. Old school Dr. that doesnt want to listen to a patient and isnt interested in helping. I will go get a 2nd and third opinion.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
